When the prince finally stopped speaking, Gaius was reluctant to speak to the others. It wasn't that he feared them, he doubted any one would try anything in the open, but they could laugh him off. Rather than be shrugged off, Gaius opted to sit back and observe the others. The Brujah had asked question regarding the werewolves, and was answered by the witch doctor in the room. Gaius wondered if everything the man said was drenched in testasterone. Lupine were in deed terrifying to think about, but he doubted that they would start anything unless provoked. If someone would provoke them, Gaius would make sure to not be in their line of sight when it happened. He shrugged it off, and continued watch the others. He wondered if he would be able to contribute anything. Or rather, he knew he could, but would anyone take him seriously enough to listen? He cursed Francis for persuading him into coming.
Gaius did his best to avoid the gaze of the most dangerous seeming of the group, particularly the female Malkovian and the Bruja. The Bruja seemed like he was would fight anything if he were given a reason to, and the Malkovian made him feel uneasy. Insanity was unpredictable, and that was something Gaius would rather not deal with. There really wasn't anybody Gaius was particularly excited about speaking to.
When Gaius saw the other Assimite in the room approach him, he panicked a bit in his mind. Why is he coming over here? Gaius had not formally introduced himself to the other Assimites in town, so he figured it was most likely on that matter. Had I done something wrong? Was there some sort of club house I forgot to sign up for? Gaius watched passively as the man got closer. When the man finally arrived and spoke, Gaius answered his question with a mute smile and a nod. He seemed friendly enough. Gaius wondered if he had managed to meet a potential ally this early in the group. "Are there any others of our clan in the city?" Gaius knew that the presence of Assamites was underdeveloped in Caramilla territory, but he figured that they would at least be familiar with each other. Or maybe there was some sort of pretext for Reza approaching him. If there was one, Gaius could not figure out what it could possibly be.
"Yes." He answered finally. "I have a mentor I share an apartment with in the city." Gaius could find no indication of dishonesty in the question. Since the man was already here, Gaius figured he should do his best to make nice. "The prince spoke of other supernaturals in the city. Apart from those who attended the meeting today, do you know of any?" He was genuinely curious, but mostly wanted continue the conversation.
