To-do List: 1. Write a bio 2. Celebrate for finally having written a bio
Hey, my name's Gavin. If you've seen the RP(s) I'm in, you'll know that I name most of my characters that, too. I'd like to say I do it to keep track of them easier or something, but it's really because I'm so bad at coming up with names that I just use my own. I tend to RP with a specific group of people, but if I find the time I'm not opposed to joining other RPs.
I got into roleplaying a while back from a stray Google search. It lead me to a website with a fanfiction written by multiple authors. (Don't judge me too harshly; that's really what I thought it was.) Eventually, I figured out what this "roleplay" concept was. It seemed like a fun idea, so I decided to track down the people who wrote what I had just read and join their current RP. Looking back on it, I'm amazed that my app was (eventually) accepted. I'm not exaggerating when I say that my roleplay/writing skills were absolutely horrible - I was lucky to be able to write a couple sentences per post. If any of you are reading this: thanks for putting up with it back then.
After that RP and its prequel ended, the group I was with moved to this website. I joined (or tried to join) a few of their RPs, but I kept losing interest along the way. There were times where I would get an idea and decide to work on an app, but those never lasted long enough for me to get back into RPing. I stopped making apps, and started checking in on people from time to time because I wanted to keep in contact with them. I eventually realized that it was kind of rude to keep posting on an RP I wasn't in, so I decided not to keep doing that. I checked back here less and less, until I eventually forgot about it.
Until earlier this year last year. A while ago, I remembered the old RPs I had been in and decided to write one of them into a book for myself. I pulled up the old website and started stitching the posts together in my own words into a continuous story, structured more like a book than an RP. I got about a hundred posts in, and that's when I realized that I wanted to RP again. I could tell it was different now; this time I wouldn't get bored halfway through making an app and give up. So, now I'm back. And I don't plan on leaving anytime soon, so you're all stuck with me.
The lizard person's answer made no sense. What had she said about a state? And "Trevor"? What kind of name was "Trevor" for a lizard person? It gestured to another creature, which introduced itself as Jason and called Shaula a "conspiracy theorist maniac," a description Shaula was clearly not fond of. The creature rushed forward to grab her wrists without warning, but its talons splashed right through her, and she was able to snatch her Orgone emitter back. "I'm warning you, I will use this!" she said while backing out of its reach. If Shaula had learned anything from all the hate mail she got, it was was how to deal with people who disagreed with you.
"World gone mad I tell you.. mad..." another one said. Shaula couldn't agree more. This creature introduced itself as Celina and mentioned how they all seemed to have magic. "And does anyone.. really.. anyone has any idea how all those changes happened? Geez.... this is so freaken weird. And I feel so strange like this."
And just then, Shaula finally realized what she had been missing. "Hang on just a moment," she said, looking at each of them in a new light, "You're people? All of you are people!?" At the very least, people were still alive - if a bit changed. "Sorry about the rock," she said to Trevor, "I thought you were... something else. My name's Shaula." She made sure to be careful with her words, for fear of the others thinking her insane. "As for all this, I don't have a clue how it happened. But I do think I know who's behind it all, if you're willing to listen," she said in response to Celina's question.
Hey @Lucius Cypher, my character was going to run off towards a murderous, pickpocketing Wurmple with Magma, but did you want to post first so Gren had a chance to answer and we don't run off without him?
A creature with feathers and scales swept by in pursuit of two other demons. Shaula could hardly believe her eyes; never in her entire life had she expected to see a living, breathing lizard person. Before today, lizard people had been nothing more than online rumors, baseless claims about shapeshifting creatures working alongside the aliens of the New World Order, yet here they were on her street. The two demons it was chasing were heading north towards Canada. Shaula almost felt sorry for them. She knew Canada wasn't a real country, but a facade put up by the New World Order to capture those trying to escape their agents in the states. If they really were heading to Canada though, Shaula needed to act fast - she needed a weapon.
She ran to the water meter behind her house, where she dug up a small object from behind it. It looked like a dull brown-orange muffin that had its top cut off. Inside it, sharp metal shavings could be seen glimmering around a white crystal in its centre. It wasn't the best one she had made, but it should work. Shaula crawled through her neighbors' backyards until she spotted the lizard person standing in the street, facing a portal it was about to escape through.
She summoned her courage, then ran up behind the lizard person and threw a rock at it. "Hey, you! Stay there! I have an Orgone emitter," Shaula said, holding the strange object at arm's length, "so any sudden movements and you'll be burning in hell with all the rest of the demons you brought here!" Her arm was trembling, but she didn't look away from the creature. She needed answers. "I've seen the signs! I've seen the lights in the sky - your ships! I know what you are, and I know why you came here! So just answer my questions, and you can be on your way! Got it?"
Celina and Mia are in front of Celina's house (maybe in a sort of suburb/neighborhood area), Shaula is across the street at her house, and Trevor is running after some people away from his house, which might or might not be nearby.
A person who had just moved into Lucky City might not know the name Shaula Yates. But then again, most of her neighbors didn't either. To them, Shaula was that strange woman down the street, who could sometimes be spotted putting up signs like "Research Roswell! Area 51 is real!" and "Are your politicians really who they say they are? Find out now, on the Truth Seeker Podcast!" As usual, the curtains of her house were drawn tight, and not a single light was on. A passerby on the street might have thought she had gone away. What the passerby would not have known, was that Shaula was currently hiding beneath her backyard in an underground bunker. However, that's assuming there would have been any passerby on a day like this.
Inside the bunker, Shaula laid on her bed in darkness, listening to the static of the radio. All the other times she had slept in here, the radio had still been playing music when she woke up. But not this time. This time, it had really happened. She didn't want to think about how many people the meteor had killed or how many would die in the aftermath; all Shaula wanted to do was go back to sleep and pretend none of this had ever happened. But she had to be strong, and she had to keep going. After opening the vent and turning the generator's key, the bunker came to life, its lights flickering on while the air vent's fan got to work cleaning out the past night's stale air.
Shaula was about to go to her desk, when she caught sight of her hand, still clutching the generator's key. Her hand had become completely transparent. Not only that, but her arm as well. She let her gaze travel up to her arm, then to her shoulder and chest, where she saw her entire body looked just like it were made of glass. Shaula slowly brought her finger to her palm, and it went straight through as though parting water. This had to be a dream. She ran to the mirror, where a transparent woman stared back at her with a look of pure horror on its face - this felt much too real to be a dream.
"No... No... This can't..." She said, her mind racing through every possibility until it landed on the one she had been fearing the most. "Oh my god. It was them. What is this!? What did they do to me!?" This was no accident; someone did this to her, and she had a terrible feeling in her stomach that told her she knew exactly who it was. Shaula ran to the bunker's ladder and tried to grab it, but it went straight through her hand just like her finger had. For a moment, she wanted to shout for help through the air vent, but there would be no one around to hear. The door in the ceiling now seemed much farther away than it had last night. Determined to get out, Shaula reached her hand out in front of her, focusing on the first rung of the ladder as she slowly closed her hand around it. This time it didn't pass through. Shaula carefully climbed the ladder before releasing each of the bunker's locks, pushing the door open and climbing out into her shed.
The shed looked the same as she had left it last night: garden tools strewn about, a lawnmower taking up most of the room, and the bunker's entrance hidden by an old carpet. Shaula checked the area for any devices that would indicate their troops had been here, then she went outside to do the same. The area seemed to be clear, but that didn't prove anything. Only once Shaula was certain nobody was there did she notice the shouting and chaos in the street. Right now would be the perfect time to get back inside unseen, but she had to know what was happening - she had to know what had happened to her.
Shaula sneaked around her house and saw a large hole that had been torn into its side, revealing her ransacked living room. Her TV and computer were missing, and the sofa had been ripped to shreds. Looking out into the street, none of her neighbors' houses had fared much better. Some had holes torn into them, while others had smashed windows or crashed cars in their walls. However, what scared Shaula the most wasn't the state of the city, but the creatures that had invaded it. A terrifying green monster with wings like a demon passed overhead, on a collision course with a creature that had just emerged from her neighbor's house across the street. Other creatures like it were dotted across the sky, some with feathers, some with scales, and others that looked more like giant, flaming birds. A plume of fire shot into the air a couple blocks away.
Through the madness of it all, Shaula understood the truth. How could she have been so blind! Of course the meteor hadn't been their real plan! That's why they announced it on TV a week before! That's why they warned everyone! They wanted the chaos; they wanted the world to tear itself apart, for it to weaken itself so they could put their true plan into motion. The New World Order had unleashed demons across the world.
Name: Shaula Yates Age: 46 Gender: Female Species: Water Golem
Appearance: Shaula is a Golem made entirely of water. She has a blue topaz core shaped like a water droplet that floats in the center of her chest. Her body is mostly the same form as when she was human, though she can change it with practice.
Bio: Shaula Yates was born on November 18, 1968 and grew up on the southern outskirts of Belleville, Illinois. The Yates house wasn't much to look at; it was a small, one-story place down an old gravel road, but it was enough. Her family's financial troubles weren't a problem for her until high school, when she was forced to drop out and find work after her father lost his job. Despite Shaula's efforts, her father's unemployment still took a toll on them, and before long, the bank had repossessed the only home she had ever known. The Yates moved in with Shaula's grandparents on the other side of Belleville, where she found part time work at a restaurant.
Years later, her grandparents had passed away and her family inherited the house. Shaula was struggling through the early shift at a new chain restaurant downtown, always hoping the manager wasn't in the mood to yell at her that day. It was only a matter of time before he was fired and Shaula, being the next most experienced employee, replaced him as manager. However when the time came, it was not Shaula, but a newer employee who got the position. Everyone said he was just a better fit for the job, but Shaula knew better. He had taken advantage of contacts he must have had higher up, cheating to get the job that she deserved.
Shaula was still fuming when she saw something that would change her life. Early one morning while driving to work, just five days after the turn of the century, she happened to look up. A massive, black object shaped like an arrowhead glided through the sky above her. At first she thought it must have been a plane, but it was moving much too slowly and flying much too low. It had a pitch black surface with pinpricks of light scattered all across, like stars sailing through the air. She sped up and turned a corner to follow, but by then it was gone. Her parents would question how it was visible at night if it gleamed exactly like the stars, or would say it must have been her imagination or a trick of the light, but Shaula knew better. She had seen a UFO.
Soon, Shaula learned she wasn't the only one. Hundreds of people across the country had seen UFOs and posted about them online, and as time went by these sightings only seemed to became more and more common. Something big was happening. Determined to find out the truth, Shaula explored the internet and discovered people who argued not only that aliens existed, but that they were already here. Every politician, CEO, or celebrity, anyone with power, money, or fame would be a prime candidate for an alien to possess. These claims seemed to border on paranoia, yet she couldn't stop thinking about them.
At work, her new boss had decided to "restructure" the restaurant, hiring a few people and laying off more. Shaula was one of the unlucky few who got the sack. She had an awful feeling as she drove home that evening, like she was stuck in a horrible, inescapable cycle of jumping from job to job, never progressing, always stuck in her parents' house. She needed a fresh start.
Using the money she had been saving, Shaula packed up and bought a small, trailer-sized house near a city far from Belleville. There, she got a job as a waitress, back at the bottom rung trying to work her way up. Even during this transition, she couldn't help but feel like there was something keeping her from moving up in the world, and her mind went back to what she had read online. What if they were right?
What if the reason people couldn't move up in the world was because those at the top were determined to stay at the top, determined to keep themselves powerful while everyone else was trapped under their thumb? With all their secrecy, would they really tell the public if there had been contact with aliens? Perhaps that would explain all the UFO sightings. Perhaps They were working with the aliens to control the public while They enjoyed living lavishly up in their estates and penthouses. Or perhaps the aliens were the ones controlling Them...
The more Shaula thought about it, the more sense it made. The more she researched it, the more her eyes were opened to evidence of the conspiracy happening all around her, all across the planet. The world made more sense now than it ever had before, like puzzle pieces finally falling into place. It was clear now she had no chance of working her way up. Keeping her dead-end restaurant job, Shaula started a new podcast to bring in donations and spread the word, teaching people across the world what was really happening and how they could fight back against the aliens.
Out of all the secrets the internet had revealed to her, one stood out from all the others. Orgone, ELF tower attacks, chemtrails, none were as demanding of Shaula's attention as the threat posed by the New World Order. The aliens were not content with just ruling the world in secret. The New World Order would create the apocalypse itself, bringing this world to its knees before coming into the open and revealing themselves as the new rulers of humanity.
By digging into her savings account and raising funds on her podcast, Shaula bought a used shipping crate and converted it into an underground bunker in her backyard. For years, she taught people how to protect themselves with orgone and when they could expect the end of the world. Whenever her prediction for the apocalypse would fail, she would simply revise it. In 2015, she was horrified when the New World Order finally put their plans into motion, months before she had predicted. With a week left for the world and chaos on the streets, she was too far away to save her parents.
The night the meteor was to strike, Shaula took one last look at the city before locking her bunker door. If she ever opened it again, it would be to a new world.
Skills: Shaula is able to use water and ice magic, but specializes in water magic. After some more practice with ice magic, she may be able to freeze her body into ice. Also, she isn't very experienced with physical skills but knows how to throw a good punch. (Don't ask why she was fired from her first job.)
Weaknesses (x2): While made of water: Darkness, Art, Electricity While made of ice: Darkness, Art, Stone
Strengths: While made of water: x-1 - Light x0 - Fire x0.5 - Magma While made of ice: x-1 - Light x0 - Electricity x0.5 - Nature
Runes: Other: Other stuff, mostly just here for me to keep track of it.
Shaula sat in front of her computer, talking into a webcam microphone and flipping through a notebook full of messy handwriting. "And just the other day, another listener from Utah called in about a saucer. We know they've been putting up more ELF towers around those states - it wasn't gonna be long before they started getting reckless, thinking we're not watching. For those of you in Utah, keep your eyes on the sky. Thanks again for that report." She paused, taking a sip of water and crossing off a line in her notebook. "Now, as for Oliver Henrik's question, yes, orgone is very effective. Not just at protecting you from the ELF towers, but at wiping out chemtrails, too." A comment popped up, 'Turn on your TV.' Shaula paused, leaning forward to frown at the podcast's comments section. Curious, she grabbed the TV remote and pressed the button. A series of grating tones played before it announced, "Please stand by for an important announcement from the president of the United States of America." The cooking show she had been watching earlier was now muted while the voice repeated itself. She changed the channel, but the same thing was happening with all the others. The TV changed to a man standing at a podium. Shaula recognized him immediately; he was just as bad as all the other "politicians", lying through their teeth just to stay in power. Though today he looked far from smug. His eyes were red and puffy like he hadn't slept in days, and there was a hint of worry in his voice that he was trying very hard to conceal.
- The government is covering up the existence of aliens because they have already been taken over and replaced by aliens - Phone towers ("ELF" (Extremely Low Frequency) towers) are actually used to control people's minds and make it easier to convince them of the "lie" - Chemtrails. - Aliens are weak to a type of energy known as orgone - Anyone rich and powerful must really be an alien or be working with them - They're working to bring about the end of the world to create the New World Order - Shaula sees herself as actively at war against the NWO (even before the meteor came)
- Has a desire to help others - Distrusting of authority figures - Strong moral compass - Wants to make an impact on the world - Values the truth - Feels like she lacks the power to truly change anything (but that doesn't stop her from trying)
And I'm finally done. I may have accidentally wrote more than I planned to.

I love it, but none of us are members of the guild yet, so we don't have anything to get the message on. We are, however, chasing down a crazy outlaw Wurmple who's stolen a bunch of items from people, so maybe an explorer's badge he could've stolen from someone got the message?
So, who’s gonna be the first to expierence the new and updated Breen? Don’t be scared, he doesn’t bite - sometimes.
I feel like it'll be the group with my character in Birchwood Forest. So long as he doesn't bite his head off - he's only been out of his city for half a day and he can't die already.
