@KatherinWinter Someone greeting her should work.
@KatherinWinter Waiting at the reception desk for an official.
Modlen's heart started to race a little as she watched the sparks dance across Makoto's fingers. She couldn't help it, she was excited at the prospect of meeting another mutant.

"Oh that's so cool!" she cried, "I can't do anything like that, but I've got..." she trailed off sheepishly. "I've got wings." she admitted, spreading them slightly.

Of course I have wings, she berated herself in embarrassment, They're not that hard to miss! She's not going to think you're some scene kid wearing fake wings if you're coming to a mutant academy, you dork!

"I guess I'm just used to people back home seeing a difference between mutants and metahumans." Modlen continued, trying not to focus on her internal berating, "There's still some people who think metas are more human than mutants where I'm from."

She looked around, listening to the sounds of activity around them. It sounded like there was some sort of gym class taking place. She was starting to feel warm too. Walking around in a long-sleeved, hooded shirt had the tendency to get a little stuffy after a while. She debated internally for a moment before reaching up and pulling her hood back and rolling up her sleeves, exposing grey skin and black hair but still opting to keep her goggles on. The girl in front of her might have also been a mutant but her eyes had a habit of unsettling people. Reaching back and pulling her long, raven hair out from under her shirt, she removed a hair tie from her pocket and tied her hair back in a single, long ponytail and let it fall between her shoulder blades.

"So, are we supposed to wait here for the receptionist or are we allowed to go look for someone if they aren't here?" Modlen asked. As much as she was enjoying talking to Makoto, Modlen knew she was at that point where she was about to start running out of things to say, and she didn't want to fall into an awkward silence with the only other mutant she had met in her life, not so soon after having just introduced themselves.

@Hidden Lilly
@KatherinWinter Sounds good.

What's up, @Eviledd1984. Always good to see another Varg fan.
Well this is probably an important character defining moment for Modlen. A 5'11" girl wearing a hooded shirt with grey hands and visible wings is asking in a hushed voice about mutants. Because she doesn't want the wrong people to find out she is one :P
Stepping into the building, Modlen felt a shiver down her spine as goosebumps crept across her body. Instinctively she looked towards the simulation room, although there was no way for her to know what lay in that direction. There seemed to be a tone she couldn't hear, but one that caught her attention regardless, drawing her eyes towards the source. It wasn't a harmonic tone either. It seemed twisted and distorted in some way, as if someone was playing a classical piece of music, but in the wrong order. She shook her head slightly. She hadn't slept too well on the bus, which wasn't surprising since they buses weren't known to be very accommodating for people with wings. The lack of sleep was probably messing with her. Modlen turned back to the blonde girl.

"I've only really heard of the Batman from TV and the internet, like most everyone else. He seems pretty hardcore." Modlen admitted. She took note as Makoto gave her name to receptionist. She was pretty sure she'd forget it, she was terrible with names, but she still wanted to at least make an effort. She shuffled from one foot to another uneasily in the reception area, trying not to look in the direction of the inaudible tone. Instead she opted for reaching up to check her hood was still low enough once more. As far as nervous tics went, there were worse. "I only just heard about this place a couple of days ago." She confessed, "I'd kinda heard about training academies like this but there weren't really any near where I lived. We aren't really known for our heroes where I'm from."

Putting her hands in her pockets, Modlen looked around uneasily. She still wasn't too sure about what was going on or what she could expect and she didn't know how to bring up her next question. She decided to take a leap of faith, even though she was pretty sure she was starting to hyperventilate a little. "So, if the teachers and everyone help people with their abilities then I guess that means this school's okay with..." She lowered her voice slightly, not wanting to be heard, just in case. "You know... mutants?"

If these screens are appearing in the warehouse, is this report appearing anywhere Modlen can see?
@CajunRobinHood Well English and German have similar roots. Just look at Old English!
