Kitten sat quietly eating she loved the food but was always careful. She smiled at the thought of all the interesting things she would learn. But then everyone started asking her questions at once. Since she was actually an entering Fourth year. THings like what was your school like. Why she transferred. all simple questions but her flight reflex tripped as she turned and ran for the door. bursting through and once she was out of the door and everyone elses sight she shifted to be a black wolf. She began dashing across the courtyard heading for the dark forest that surrounded the school.

I was given power to override her if something was out of place. Animagus are created normally after the third year. One does not discover they are one (Unlike the metamorphmagus) they consciously choose to be one through a series of incredibly dangerous spells and rituals.

If you want to be an animagus all that needs to be done is move the sentence down and reword it.
