Donovan MacConaill was a patient man, but he could only tolerate so much horseshit when lives were at stake-- and he was coming damn close to the limit.

Though the snide remark from the second hunter was something Don would normally write off as the young man; who couldn't be older than his mid twenties, as trying to sound brooding and cool.

Needless to say the lad's snide remark had very much gotten Don's attention... And not in a positive sense.

The large man glared at the hunter as he raised his hand; ready to beat some sense into the damn idiot. Despite his clear disgust for how casually the hunter had made a snide remark regarding nearly getting an entire village butchered-- Donovan hesitated just before he could deliver a backhand hard enough to make even a pimp shudder. Slowly turning his head toward the fog, the man's hand lowered slowly as his eyes carefully surveyed the sealing grounds. Had he actually heard something? Or was the stress playing tricks on his mind?

Novak would speak up while Don was staring off into the dense fog, arguing once more for the hunters to consider co-operation. More importantly-- that one of the hunters claimed that the Illuminator's following was responsible for protecting the seal. Donovan would give a slow nod as he digested the information. If the man's dying claims were indeed truthful, than that meant his own suspicions about-

There it was again.

Donovan heard the whispers just beneath the ambient sounds of the forest. Almost like how one may hear someone calling their name in a crowded room, only to find nobody there. They were loud this time, or louder than any he'd heard before at the least. The whispers; though Donovan couldn't discern any actual words, sounded almost as if there was an urgency in their tone. A cold sweat would form on the old architect's forehead as he stared into the depths of horrible fog... It wasn't guidance, it was a warning.

"Dammit!" Don hissed under his breath, "We're runnin' outtah damn time..."

Turning to Akando, Don placed a hand on the man's shoulder and spoke in hushed tones, "Akando. Aye need tah head back tah town. Jus' got ah warnin' that th' seal's crumblin' faster then aye thought so aye need tah get shite readeh soon as aye can. Help these two finish up ere' an' make sure yah take th' hunter's means tah traverse tha fog so they'll be delayed. When yer done ere, meet meh south ah tha village at th' cliff with tha obelisk... Aye'll tell yah what tha plan is there."

Donovan would give the veteran hunter a pat on the shoulder "Godspeed lad."

As the hunters moved their attention to Novak, Donovan carefully stepped behind a tree to break line of sight; attempting to slip away without the captive hunters realizing. The moment he was completely out of sight and hearing, Donovan broke into a mad dash back to Dawn. He was going to need carts, and something especially strong to pull them... Good thing he had some money eh?
"This damnable city is a fucking labyrinth!"

After spending an entire week navigating the streets of this hellhole of a city Gale had only found Ahriman's castle less than an hour ago; and now found himself in the same hallway for the third time. Frankly, the former knight had been hesitant to even accept the Demon Lord's invitation in the first place even if it provided the perfect opportunity to strike at the very heart of the Church.

"As if agreeing to hear out the proposal of a creature I've spent more than half my life training to kill wasn't bad enough-- I have to undertake a one man expedition to even FIND the damn meeting!"

The mounting frustration of having to navigate days worth of winding passages of varying size and complexity finally surfaced in a string of curses as a raving Gale repeatedly kicked the nearest wall. By the time his nerves had calmed, the man had nearly split the toe of one of the boots he'd gotten just before braving the needlessly long trek through the endless complex of buildings and strongholds that demonkind called home. "Truly, only something so twisted as demons could design a city as torturous as this." Gale muttered to himself as he shook his head in frustration. At this rate, he was liable to miss the meeting entirely.

"Maybe I could--"

Before getting the chance to finish his thought out loud, a blur falling past a nearby window caught Gale's attention. The man's brow furrowed in confusion as he tried to determine what the hell he'd just witnessed. Did demons actually commit suicide? Or had a servant failed their lord for the last time and been simply tossed out the window?

Regardless of the cause-- whoever had just fallen out the side of the building may have been carrying a map of the place, and Gale had every intent to make use of it for himself. Upon glancing out the window to determine if the demon's corpse was somewhere he could get to, the former knight was pleasantly surprised to find that it was neither a corpse or a demon that had passed the window... The person he'd seen drop was nothing other than a fellow human!

Though Gale had no idea where the woman had jumped down from, the woman seemed like she'd taken quite the drop. Clearly she was in a rush to get somewhere fast. What were the odds she might be headed to the same meeting Gale was looking for? They were certainly better than him wandering aimlessly through these halls until he found the room he was looking for.

"Bah, to hell with it then!"

Prying open the window, Gale would follow the stranger's lead onto the balcony only a floor beneath him and tail her all the way to a lavish dining hall, stopping himself at the corner just before he'd enter the room. At long last he'd finally arrived at the meeting...

But first, Gale needed to do one more thing before making his own entrance.

In the doorway of the dining room; filled to the brim with fine foods and wine, the shadows seem to stir. Shapeless darkness became hardened edges, vague outlines focused into humanoid form, heavy steps echoed, the air grew heavy with cold, creeping dread.

The Black Knight stepped into the dining hall, closing his fist and folding a single arm across his chest in salute to Lord Ahriman as the colossus would respectfully bow his head. Without so much as a single word the Knight took his place behind one of the table's many seats, opting to instead stand for the remainder of this gathering.

For the briefest moment, Don's hand rested atop his hammer. Though he preferred not having to use violence here-- Donavan had seen all these men before during his time in Dawn, and knew they didn't pose much of a real threat to his or Akando's safety. Thankfully whether it happened to be by pure chance or some measure of divine intervention, he'd be promptly be joined by two other reincarnators; neither of which Don could recall meeting previously. He wasn't sure who they were nor what they intended to do, but Akando trusted them... So for the moment, Donovan would too.

"Appreciate yer help, lad n' lass." Donovan said, flashing Novak and Nobunaga a bright smile before turning back toward the hunters. "Now, you lot drop yer weapons an' follow meh. Don't yah try any funneh business cuz aye'm fast enuff' tah catch even tha likes ah Soyala, an' if yah won't play nice with meh... Well, then aye'll let tha lass deal with yah."

Taking care to ensure the hunters were disarmed as he'd hurriedly guide them out, Donovan would lead the group around the back edge of the fog; away from the temple, the Kyrnith's territory, and far enough from the town that they wouldn't be spotted. Glancing up, Don would scowl as he noted the sun sitting directly overhead.

It was already midday. He was running out of time.

"Arright then you lot--" he would address the group of captive hunters with a clap of his hands, "Aye'm gonna keep this brief; got ah tight schedule tah keep. Name's Don. I'm a follower ah Suthainn, an somethin' of ah warrior-priest aye suppose. Tha other two'll have tah intrahduce em'selves-- but aye ain't got th' time tah wait for em. Yer gonna answer meh questions. Quickleh, an truthfulleh. First, why kill Enleh? Second, why try tah make tha kyrnith attack tha town, an whose idea were it? Third, what's th' Illuminator's goal ere? Last, what'd he promise yah tah make yah turn against yer own?"
Its ya boi

Every now and again I look back and remember how much I miss this RP...
Heres a first draft of what I've got, I'll likely rewrite some of the prose in the backstory later and flesh out certain things a bit more but here ya go-

HNNNNNNGH.

HALFWAY DOOOOOONE.

Don't think I have the free time to commit myself to an Advanced RP at the moment, but I'll definitely keep my eye on this.
As I understand it-- we (the Ahriman gang) are the ones invading 'good guy' territory and the goal our characters will have in this is to get the goddess' summoned heroes out of the picture by any means necessary.

Kill them? Convert them? If I've been reading everything right, anything goes so long as the Heroes are being neutralized as a threat.
