Welp. Spam Confession thread!

I've said it multiple times. My hands remain extended and open to have people get along and be at peace. But if people are still casting it aside and hating (which you did to. Almost every post of yours as been aggressively going at me in one way or another) I'm not gonna sit around and see myself as a villian needing redemption. I'm going to allow myself to have fun, may others dislike me for being happy or not. I've extended this same hand on Iwaku and people took it,notice how such anger and hate threads from people isn't happening there? Tldr: Just take the offer of peace and stop snapping every time I have fun rather than best myself up over a strangers opinion.

Do you honestly deny that you're intentionally antagonising people? That at no point in the past day or two that you've wound people up? That it has all been completely innocent and you're just the victim here? Because if you do, I say you're either deluded or a fucking liar. You know what you're doing. Take some responsibility. You act completely different on Iwaku than here (overlooking the fact that, despite actively criticising someone else for that just a couple posts ago, you yourself have brought it up). There is no "spamming" for spam's sake, and there's certainly none of the "lolyoumad" behaviour you've degenerated into. It's also unreasonable to expect Spam to act a certain way just because Iwaku did. If you prefer it there, then go and do this THERE - I don't see your logic in staying here if you dislike everyone here and view them as 'making war' on you or some such. You say people here cannot demand you act a certain way, while you demand that the community accept you doing absolutely whatever you want with no accountability. Why should the rest of the community adapt to you if you do not and never have made an effort to do the samw vice versa? That's just contradictory. At some point you have to act a little more maturely than this, dude. If you're not actually actively antagonising people, great - try to take on board what they're saying, too. I certainly had to when I came to Spam three years ago. Also - don't make comparisons to Iwaku; this isn't fucking Iwaku. That's not difficult to comprehend; different communities act differently. Why would you expect us to act the same way as the Iwaku community and why do you think we give a fuck how they respond to you on a different site? If you prefer it there, go and stay there - don't trample over attempts to establish a different community by demanding it act the way you want it to, and throwing a temper tantrum when it doesn't. If the re-emerging community here isn't one you like, the answer isn't to try to force it to be the way you'd like - it's to recognise it isn't for you, and leave. Or, if for some reason you're set on staying in a place whose attitudes and behaviours you don't like, then make an attempt to conform to it. If you're not going to do that, there's no point in staying, is there?

I didn't go out of my way to criticise you before now because you seemed to actually try, even if I thought you were hopelessly misguided. I only said anything if you got involved in a discussion I was a part of. But now it just seems you've given in and are just mindlessly trolling. It's sad, dude, and I don't say that as an insult, just an observation. I strongly disliked you before, but I considered it simply a difference of personality, which happens sometimes. Now you've sunk to actively trying to wind people up and ruin this community, which is a pretty shitty thing to do. It's beneath even you. At least you thought you were doing the right thing before; you know what you're doing right now is a bit pathetic, and you'd have hated anyone else doing it in the past. Just don't, man. I don't know if it's because there are far fewer of them—or far fewer of me—than I thought, but I tend to get solicited by the same people. Awson. First is a native-american man asking for some money to pay entrance to a hostel. He claims to be the son of a Chief further North in the province, but his bag was taken on the way down, so he's waiting for his mother to come down with some money. Punctuated with regular coughs and displays of coldness, of course. Even suggested I visit his art website for proof of identity. I never carry money with him, so every time he calls out to me, I just tell him as much, chat for a bit, then head on my way. I did this for you. The first time, I was only mildly suspicious. But a month later—when his mother was supposed to arrive a week after the first time—I was quite certain he was a fraud. Same with the third time, and the time he approached my brother. Nonetheless, he never recognizes me, even though nobody else seems to stop for him. Don't lose hope. Second, not nearly as bad, is a caucasian Mormon hoping to show others the light of Jesus. He's friendly enough, and doesn't force his belief upon his targets. He just asks why we choose to be atheists, and then offers to explain the benefits of belief. When I decline, he gives me a card with the website. It's always the same frontman—though he doesn't recognize me, again—and always accompanied with a silent member of a visual minority. The second guy changes each time. Both big, tough, but kind-featured men. It's too late for me. My hope is long dead. I think they target me because I'm an open guy, not too inward-looking or absorbed in a cell-phone or whatever. But I shall continue to fight. If not for my sake, then for yours. Does this kind of thing happen to you guys, where you not only attract a certain kind of person, but indeed certain individuals time and again?

I've had similar experiences - but I think it's more that they solicit everybody who comes along (which is why they do it every time you're there) and see so many thousands of people that they're never going to recall an individual unless that person does something particularly extraordinary or noticeable. You brave, brave soul. You will be remembered for your struggles. ;-;
