ninja edit: for the record, Kaiten is distinctly Hyuuga only because of "Members of the Hyūga clan are uniquely able to expel chakra from any or all of their tenketsu, and have created jutsu such as the Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven to specifically take advantage of tha"

... and why on Earth would the Hyuuga teach someone else anything with how concerned they are about their eyes being stolen? Particularly someone outside the village? It seems... I dunno, odd.

Here is a first draft of my character. I have one more ability I want to write, but it will have to wait for now.

And since commuication is key:

It actually is faster, it's generally the same difference in speed as any central server structure vs direct p2p-networking protocol. However, that difference in speed is irrelevant since your basic forum structure doesn't update continually like a chat does. As such you're always held back to whatever speed your connection type and web browser cares to update the web page at. That is of course, only after you've actively told it to update, whereas a chatroom would automatically update at the acceptance of a new message.

With that cleared up the strong dislike toward using Discord looks overwhelming so it's not likely we'll use it anyway.
i'd consider making a discord server for this roleplay, considering chatrooms are an easy way to hash out relations between characters and such.

I'm all for it. The one game I've had so far that has used a discord was awesome. Planning events, character interactions and other stuff was incredibly easy, and it opened up for people to get to know each other better by off-topic talk without flooding the OOC with nonsense.

So are OOC threads. "It's quicker" is not the ideal argument. xD

I usually don't want to be that guy, but in this case "it's quicker" is one of the best arguments. If I need to check something about the game or my character with other players or the GM, I'd very much prefer it if the whole thing took ten minutes instead of three hours.
Having a Discord would also give us several channels to coordinate the game through. Each "team" (however they will look in this game) can have their own channel where they can talk about their own stuff. Character feedback doesn't have to share space with event planning or meme-sharing. We'd also have a natural place to coordinate posts between people without having to rely on external web pages.

If the main complaints are a lack of comfort of communication and moderation I have to side with Asura. The difference in pure communication between a forum and a chat is only the average post length. If you're comfortable with how this thread have been for the last page with pretty much one short sentence per post then I say a chatroom will be no different. A chatroom can also be moderated, even harsher than this forum as we'd run it ourselves, set our own rules and wouldn't have to pray to the almighty forumgods to get something done if they have time. In the end, nothing is stopping any of us from writing the exact same things on a forum as we would in a chat room. I believe the question is whether or not one truly believes that without an impartial moderator people will, without fail, behave like complete bastards.
I don't, and if they would the kick-button is right there, problem solved. Just follow the golden rule.
I think that that would be an interesting idea. I would love to see what you come up with.
However, the current Saizen probably won't be the First. (Because initially they were a non-ninja village, and only in recent decades became one). It seems what you have in mind, it would perhaps seems that they have become the new leader and now guides/leads the village. Perhaps the village's old ways have given way to the ideals and beliefs of the new Saizen. I hope that answers your question. Lol. In short, yes. Yes you may. XD

The First Saizen I'm thinking of is the one written about in the OP: "the small village was founded by a shinobi of the Leaf Village (now known as the First Saizen) who chose to abandon the violent ways of the ninja". The current (alive) Saizen wouldn't be of much interest to an ancestor worshipper, bar a significant change in... status.
@Raineh Daze
Just for the sake of throwing my idea out there. I'm going to write a new character for this game to make sure that it fits the world and tone we're going for. I'm aiming for a genin, so hopefully we'll get a few more of those and/or a jounin to take care of us/me.

My basic character concept is an ancestor/hero worshipper belonging to a cult that has raised the first Saizen up to a godlike status. Her words are considered near-holy and her practices likewise. The first Saizen worked for peace, and so will my character. Much like ye olde shaolin monks and many martial artists today the character will use martial arts 1. as a form of exercise and meditation and 2. if there should come a need for violence, they'd be able to it swiftly and efficiently with a minimum of force.

I therefore ask, am I allowed to make shit up about the first Saizen? Things like what she has said and done and what kind of techniques she uses.

Of course, it is entirely up to the GM to both monitor and decide if the first Saizen actually interacts with her cult in any way or if it is all the minds of the cultists.
Interest has been thrown into the hat.
