Yup yup! We're a band of magic users off to go rescue some dawrf caravan that went missing. I'm playing a tough as nails Half Orc rouge, that's cross classed... as a BARD. 8D It's hilarious.

AH I am back! Sorry also for not posting earlier, I had a dnd night with the guys that went on until 3am last night (aka this morning). BUT I'm here now and I'm ready to chat!
Posted another short post to help move things along. I'll be at work for the majority of the day tomorrow (today? Eeehhh i stayed up to late again) so feel free to just assume Marzipan is tagging along, and I'll make a good post some time in the afternoon or evening.

"Thank you," Marzipan said earnestly as she took the box. It was lighter than it looked, although the insides shifted and moved... like there was something living inside. Still, it didn't matter to her what was inside the box, only that she could lift it, and she hefted the small crate with expert care. While her head may still be rattled and her senses addled, her arms were strong and her grip unfailing. Even through the jostling and awkward assent, there would be no chance of her dropping it.

Reaching the opening, with one hand Marzipan cast about for help climbing out of the flue. The other still clutching the box, and she was utterly unperturbed by the hissing sounds coming from within. Of course, there were more pressing matters. Like keeping her balance on the steeply angled roof.

They were free of the room at least. Now what? Would they go leaping from rooftop to rooftop? She sincerely hoped not.

Post for you spuddy buddy!

Also lol, did you get my pun? Nth next level shit? I figured it was as cool futuristic drug name i could think up without going for something lame like NovaDust, or Oblivion. I did dabble with the idea of calling it Omni. But that sounded too cozy. Nth sounds like it could fuck you up.

"Don't let him hear you say that or I won't be the only one keeping an eye on the airlocks." Loire smiled.

"Heh, he could try," Viva chuckled and returned the slight smile, "Like i said doc: Override Codes."

Just outside the medbay was a small lounge area, basically a couch with a low set coffee table that was bolted to the floor that they'd been lucky to avoid banging their shins against. It was open on two sides, one a kind of half-ledge and the other a half wall, but both had the look to them that they could batten up tight in an emergency.

"So, the kitchen is across the hall here," Viva began stepping over a smear of blood that had been tracked on the floor. She waved in the general direction of the other half-wall which opened into what appeared to be a very utility-efficient kitchenette with a bar like table set up on one side, "It may not look like much but it's fully functional. We dont starve, but any talent making Space Preserves taste better than mealy protein chalk is more than welcome."

"Sanitation is through there on the other side," She continued, leaning tiredly against the wall, "We'll all probably have to give it a go before too long here. It's a tight fit usually but the water stays hot forever when we have it- last time we hit port long enough to breath we stocked up so we're not on short-rations just yet, but it's best not to linger too long."

Pushing away from the wall, she made her way towards the cargo hold. She wasn't nearly as dizzy as she'd been before, nor as faint, but she was still feeling that bone deep exhaustion that came from surviving another day fraught with peril. She didn't remember life aboard the Lucidae being quite this dangerous all the time growing up. She needed a vacation.

"We've got four rooms actually, so you're in luck there," She continued trying to casually guide her way along the wall without looking like she was leaning too heavily on it for support, "Granted the fourth is full of junk and crap so we'll have to clear it out- but with the state of things right now I don't think anybody will be able to notice in this mess."

Again she gestured with her free hand, this time at the crates and boxes of cargo that was strewn about carelessly- they'd only managed to tie down about half of what they'd gotten and the other half had been sliding and careening around with her reckless flying.

She frowned down at one of the dented boxes, her face in an expression of distaste, "I don't even know what the hell we picked up. Noah wouldn't tell. So I prolly won't like it. Fuck, he always does this." Viva gave the box a mean kick, her look turning dark as she growled, "Fuck this shit, I hope it was worth it, Noah-"

Viva stopped mid-rant, her voice nearly a squeak as her eyes flew wide in surprise and no little alarm. The box she'd kicked had flipped over, and the top-unsecured and battered- gave way spilling its contents of colorful iridescent packets on the floor. And she knew what this was. She fucking KNEW!

"Nth!" She exclaimed, and it would have been an ear shattering shriek if she could breath, but it only came out as a disbelieving gasp, "He's got us transporting Nth?! Doesn't he know how bad this shit is?! I mean, drugs are one thing but Nth is some next level shit. No wonder those fuckers were chasing us..."

"Fuuuuuuck," Viva moaned and covered her face with a hand as she tried to pull herself back together. It had been a really stressful day and she did not need this right now. She really didn't.
"Lick the bell. Please." LOL Omygod that's hilarious. Can you imagin somebody trying to prophosize that with a straight face?!

Marzipan carefully got to her feet, continually checking the back of her head with her hand. There was blood yes, and a lot of it, but it was a head wound. Those tended to bleed a lot more than they warranted most times... at least she thought so. Her mind felt muzzily, and although she'd made her way into a standing position the room still bucked and swayed around her and she staggered to the nearest piece of furniture to brace herself against... the couch where the woman sat.

Had sat, rather, as she seemed to have gotten ahold of herself. Which Marzi was very grateful for, as the woman had been caught up in the throws of the most intelligent wailing and it had been rather unbecoming of a woman of her supposed stature. She was high class, Marzipan could tell that much, and whether she was a princess or a lady she should behave like it... Even more so if she was a Queen like she said she was.

But mostly she was grateful that she'd stopped making that awful racket as her head was pounding hard enough to make her nauseous. It was hard enough to focus on what everyone was saying and staying upright at the same time.

Marzipan had just opened her mouth to introduce herself, only to yelp and flinch away as the lady, Queen, lept upon a man with a roar of furious rage, an arrow flying over her head as she ducked and crouched below the arm of the chair.

The lady's mercurial nature was very unsettling, and everyone in the room was understandably jumpy- what with the bodies, blood, and the sound of fighting just outside the door. As if on cue, the sound of the battering ram crashing into the door rocked through the room- making everyone jolt and flinch in alarm and anticipation. Fight or flight.

The group was moving towards their only means of exit, but Marzipan was still crouched on the floor. Frustration seeped into her, she was stronger than this! If only she could regain her senses, and she gave her head a hard shake- only to instantly regret the motion. Okay, no more shaking. Shaking is very very bad.

Slowly crawling back to her feet, Marzipan swallowed and made her way to the chimney- not the last one to do so, but nearly so. Hand upon the cold sooty bricks, she looked up and watched as the flue tunnel weaved about, and felt her stomach drop with dread.

"I um," Marzipan licked her split lip and spoke to those around her, "I don't think I can make it up on my own..."

Okay! Sorry for holding up the the train here, homework comes first yadda yadda FUNTIMES NOW!

I think we could have another lil stoppover with the crew before Viva and Loire jump ship or two? Viva needs something serious to give her the gumption to bail on the only place she's called home. She can be having second thoughts before now, certanly what with them getting into drugrunning now- but i need a Catalyst!

And i like the idea of Valko catching them in the act! Ohhh that has the potential for so much drama and angst! Viva woulld like, give him the chance to come with them. Ditch Noah and run from all the hell he's brought on them... or maybe try to sway him to mutiny? But yeah, he might not rat them out right away, but he's never gonna leave Noah. He would never leave Viva either, but she's leaving HIM so its different.

ANYWAYS! I'm gonna work on that post now, have Viva give the good doctor a tour, find the drugs and be all dismayed, and then after you post I'll have her kick Noah out of her chair and we can do the timeskip to when Valko wakes up. Sound good?
