Name: Lacey Parker

Age: 30

Gender: Female

Personnel Classification: D Class

Personality: A daredevil by nature, Lacey occasionally finds herself pushing her own boundaries and engaging in activities that are often frowned upon by her relatives. Despite her wild side, Lacey's a sweet person who loves lending out a hand and doesn't mind going out of her way to help others. While she sees more good than evil in the world, she will become a completely different person when she's angered or feeling cornered. With that said, she's as approachable as they come.

Likes: Reading, sky-diving, traveling, animals, cooking, wake-boarding, sleeping in, and scary movies

Dislikes: People smoking around her, religion fanatics, animal abusers, liars, and stuck up people

Skills: Running, whether sprinting or long distance. She's also a quick thinker and enjoys a challenging puzzle. Doesn't hurt to mention that Lacey is a hell of a shot with just about any pistol.

Biography: Lacey is a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Her job while in the service was Communications Expert, or basically a translator. As rare as it seems, she spent her entire overseas tour in Russia, where she completely mastered the language to the point where ever her accent was flawless. Even though she loved her job, Lacey wasn't going to make a career out of it, especially after "the incident". She doesn't like to talk about it, but Lacey was present when a contract signing session turned ugly. Nasty words were exchanged, then people became violent before all hell broke and bullets started flying. During the debriefing, Lacey was ordered not to tell a soul, although she broke that rule when she got home and explained everything to her father.

Some years later, when Lacey was in the parking garage after she had to stay late at work, she heard footsteps behind her. The woman didn't think much of it, but the last think she remembers was a sharp pain in the back of her head before hitting the floor.
I'll have something by tomorrow morning!
Are we needing to PM the CS before posting it?

Yep!

"That's a spider! A SPIDER!"

Natalia's selective hearing made her stop dead on her tracks when she heard Zara freaking out in the kitchen. Surely enough, now was definitely not the time to grab some breakfast, despite the fact that her stomach was protesting with hunger. Natalia rubbed her eyes and sighed, then she tightened her sweater belt bit more as she cleared her throat. She approached the entrance to the kitchen, but she didn't dare go in.

"Hey, guys...is it safe to go inside?"

It was no secret amongst her teammates that Natalia was terrified of spiders. Not just them, but snakes, scorpions, roaches...pretty much anything that wasn't a cute and furry 4-legged friend. As many times as Athos had reassured her that they were harmless--and yes, Natalia was well aware of that fact--she couldn't bring herself to get near them.
Second-in-Command Cassandra Voss

"You can fight…or you can run away. What’s it gonna be?"

Name
Cassandra Voss

Nickname
Cassie or Cass

Faction
The Vanguards

Rank
The Spartan's Right-hand (Second-in-Command)

Age
29

Gender
Female

Crimes
Theft and assault against a member of The Collective

Reputation
Some people in the other factions see Cassie as nothing more than a thief, someone who uses her position to get what she wants. While it's true that she tends to keep whatever she finds, Cassie doesn't go out of her way to point her gun at someone's head and demand they give her whatever they have. But these rumors have made Cassie take a defensive stance, something that only makes the case against her even stronger. Luckily, she knows to keep her composure despite all the trash that's being said behind her back.

Height
5'7

Weight
135 lbs

Appearance
Cassie is of average height and weight, and she makes sure her body remains toned up to set the example for her subordinates right alongside Theo. She has what is known as heterochromia iridium; her left eyes is hazel and her right one is blue. Additionally, she has short brown hair, one that's easily manageable and doesn't create too much of a fuzz.

More often than not, Cassie can be seen wearing a tank top underneath a light leather jacket and fitted jeans tucked inside brown boots. She almost always carries around a black backpack unless she's doing something which requires otherwise.

Positive Traits:
  • Cassie is naturally a funny person. She's known as the wisecrack within her faction and people usually go to her when they need to be cheered up.
  • Loyalty is another one of Cassie's top qualities. She is faithfully loyal to Theo and the rest of the Vanguards.
  • She is extremely independent; she hates when people take pity on her.

Negative Traits:
  • True to the rumors, Cassie does tend to keep whatever she finds, regardless of who those items belong to.
  • Selfishness is one unfortunate downfall of Cassie. While she does appreciate and care for her faction, she will almost always chase what is in her best interest.
  • Quite capable of being a good liar, the woman hasn't always been completely truthful with anyone, not even Theo.

Personality Description
Cassie is an interesting little character always out to make some jokes and cause mayhem. She can easily hang out with a group of guys or girls and not feel left out. Too often, Cassie will speak her mind and enjoy the tension as she watches the reactions others have to her statements. Not being one too take anything too serious, Cassie finds it hard to show the right type of emotions during difficult times.

Despite her "carefree" attitude, Cassie knows when it's time to get down to business. She respects rank and is on top of her people to follow the chain of command. Acting as Theo's right-hand, Cassie often carries the burden of delivering not-so-good news to the troops and finds herself in awkward situations she does not want to be a part of. Regardless, she gets the job done, and finds a great sense of satisfaction after completing whatever task was given to her.

Quirks
  • Whenever someone becomes an emotional wreck in front of her, Cassie will look to the side as she mumbles some words of encouragement.
  • Cassie rubs her right eye a lot, purely out of habit.
  • Regardless of who she's talking to, Cassie can't help but roll her eyes whenever they say something stupid.

Specialties
  • A hell of a shot, both with pistols and long-range rifles.
  • Cassie can make a decent meal out of almost anything you give her.
  • A natural quick-thinker, Cassie is able to talk herself out of nearly any bad situation she's stuck in.

Weaknesses
  • Cassie is completely blind in her left eye.
  • Sometimes she'll make decisions based on emotions rather than logic.
  • Can't stand when subordinates begin to question her methods.

Inventory
  • Black backpack with some clothing, a brush, and other miscellaneous personal items.
  • Her M-9 Beretta
  • A switchblade

Fears
  • Pain
  • Snakes, spiders, scorpions, etc.

Secret(s)
Cassie has feelings for Theo, and she's had them for a while. Unfortunately, the poor woman knows she has no chance now that he's very close to marrying Isabel.

Goal(s)
To be happy, plain and simple. She hopes that the daily struggles faced by everyone in the colony slowly begin to disappear after a much needed change in politics.

History
When she was just a child, Cassie found herself more often than not being punished by her parents due to her bad behavior. She had a short fuse, and even though she wasn't necessarily a bully amongst her peers, she always defended herself by going the extra step...a bold move she took to make sure that everyone understood she wasn't one to be stepped on. This type of lifestyle continued for Cassie well into her teenage years, when she eventually crossed the wrong group and got the beating of her life to show for it. To make matters worse, one of the hits she took was to the left eye, that which caused her permanent blindness in that eye. It was then that Cassie decided she would have to find a less violent method to channel her anger, and she eventually settled for comedy and making jokes to make others laugh. It took her some time, but she eventually learned to laugh right alongside everyone else.

Even though Cassie wasn't running around beating people who crossed her anymore, she was none the wiser to stop her mischievous acts. A few years of practice turned her into a pickpocketing professional, and even though she was caught a few times, she avoided any serious repercussions. Early on in her 20s, Cassie once more came across the wrong crowd. She saw a small group of well-dressed men and women mingling amongst themselves and noticed one of them walked away by herself. Seeing that as the perfect opportunity, Cassie followed the elderly woman until they were mostly out of sight and proceeded to attempt to steal her bag. The woman was stronger than she looked though, and in the struggle, Cassie unintentionally ended up shoving her to the ground. A second or two passed before she saw blood pooling on the ground, and Cassie cursed herself for giving the woman a severe wound without intending to. Deciding to go for help, Cassie turned around only to find herself face to face with the remainder of the group. She attempted to run, but she was easily caught and it was then she found herself in a world of trouble.

As it turns out, the elderly woman was one of the members of The Collective. She had lived, but had about 10 or 11 stitches on the side of her head as proof of the attack. Cassie was sent off to the penal colony, where she decided to join The Vanguards to learn to become a better fighter. Like everyone else, she started off in the lower ranks, but after 5 years, she was made Second-in-Command due to her skills and dedication to the faction. Despite of her new rank, her feelings didn't lessen for Theo, a teammate who reminded her of herself to an extent. She admired him as much as their current Spartan King, and in a funny twist of events, Theo actually became the next Spartan, despite the fact that the position should have gone to her. But despite her feeling a bit cheated, she knew exactly whose life Theo had saved, and that the previous Spartan King was simply returning the favor. If she had anyone to blame, it definitely wasn't Theo.

But now, ever since finding out about the arranged marriage, Cassie has been stuck in a position she wished wasn't hers anymore.
Having a dry spell, no matter how hard I try. Will post by the weekend though.
Will have something soon for the Spartan's right-hand
There was a knock on the door.

"Come in!"

Emilie looked up from her computer to notice Lindy standing shyly behind the door, her hand carefully placed over the lock, nervously playing with it. "Hi Dr. Stone, may I come in?"

"Of course, take a seat," Emilie smiled, extending her hand to the empty chair across her desk. "I wanted to bring you in to discuss the decision Dr. Stark and I have made after carefully considering our options." Emilie stopped for a moment to gauge Lindy's reaction to her statement, and she noticed a hint of anxiety...a normal feeling considering the stakes. "We are gonna go ahead and perform the abortion," she continued, finally breaking the news to the young girl. But Emilie was surprised to see Lindy seemingly displaying mixed emotions.

"Dr. Stone...can I be honest with you?" Lindy asked with some hesitation.

Emilie immediately wondered what Lindy had withheld from her and Stark. If it was something directly affecting their ability to go forward with the procedure, then they would have no other choice but to reconsider.

"Of course, what is it?"

Lindy sighed, her face turning a soft shade of red. "The baby...it's Dr. Stark's."

"Oh," was all Emily managed to reply, the shock alone from the news leaving her mind racing to make sense of what she'd just been told. "And, um, does he know?"

Lindy nodded her head, a couple of tears escaping either eye as she brought up her hand to cover her nose. She looked away from Emilie as if she were ashamed of what she'd confessed to. "I—I didn't mean to get pregnant," she managed to say in between her sobs, "I didn't want..."

"Wait, are you trying to say Dr. Stark forced himself upon you?" Emilie asked in disbelief, handing the poor girl a box of tissues as she felt some anger stirring within herself.

"He wouldn't leave me alone Dr. Stone, he was very persistent even though I just wanted to go back to my room," Lindy admitted in a calmer state, wiping her eyes with a tissue.

It was then Emilie took action. She picked up the phone and dialed the security department as she advised Lindy that everything would be alright while she simultaneously locked her door by pressing the small button directly underneath her desk. If Stark hadn't gone back to his room just yet, then he was definitely still hanging around the office.

"Yes, this is Dr. LaFavre-Stone, I need to report the rape of a minor," she said as soon as someone answered the line.

Hah, well we use OOC primarily for key announcements so don't think we're not doing anything :) But we've been in discussions all week in Discord about next posts and there should be another IC up in a day or two. We'll be back up to speed in no time.

@heat and I are also working on the next post that will mainly be a current "State of the Ark" (see what I did there) post, and Admiral Locke making a ship-wide announcement with a "Here's what's next, but carry on with your lives" kind of of speech.

We don't plan on moving too fast as we like to allow the players to develop their characters whereas the Ark really takes on a life of it's own after awhile.

Gotcha. No rush, I was just wondering where everyone was.
I've got big plans for Dr. Stark guys, let's get moving!
