He waited a few minutes, half listening to the others talk while the tea steeped. When it was ready he fished out the leaves from the pot and set them on one of the wooden plates that was given to him as part of the trey of things he requested from Scarlet. He poured the sweet, plant smelling tea into the cup and brought it over to Avery.
"Thar be nothin' t- impair judgement in tha' tea Cap'n." He said, setting it in front of her. He remembered her aversion to anything that would alter her level of awareness, and rightly so.
"Has a port been chosen t' make birth at?" He inquired.

Bio:
Makoto’s father was Japanese and her mother was Caucasian/Canadian. They lived happily together in a small home. At the age of 10 her father was diagnosed with cancer. He battled and they tried to get him the best treatment they could. In the end the doctors had caught it too late and he died when Makoto was 12. Makoto’s mother did her best to cope and continue to raise Makoto the best she could.
The loss of her father took quite a toll on her mother. She began to drink in secret. As time went on and the effectiveness of alcohol wore off, Makoto’s mom began to drink more frequently and in greater amounts. Often her mom would go to a local bar and not be home until practically the next morning just in time to go to work. One morning, Makoto awoke to the doorbell ringing. She opened it and to her surprise, there was a police officer there. He explained to her that earlier in the evening her mother had gotten into a car crash while still intoxicated and died. In a way, Makoto was glad that when her mom crashed, she hadn’t hit another car and killed others, but she was still pained by her mother’s passing. Makoto was 14.
There were not many people left around her since her mother had pushed most of their family friends away and didn’t make it easy to build relationships with people at school (not allowed to go out or have people over). Makoto managed alright after that, being in a suspended state of shock. Her world came crashing down one day when it came to the attention of her high school teachers that she was underage and without parents. Child services was notified and Makoto did not take the action lightly. It made everything real, she couldn’t just pretend that her mother was still out at a bar somewhere. It was in this moment that 15 year old Makoto manifested her powers, scaring the social worker and company away.
She tried to pack up and leave, maybe find somewhere else to go so that they couldn’t find her again. Maybe enrol in a night school or something to continue her education. As she bundled up and left, it was spring, she couldn’t help but notice that as she walked by people their hair would begin to stand on end. If she loitered people would begin discussing that it’s a phenomenon that happens right before a lightning strike, yet no storms were forecasted. It was all too close to the truth for Makoto and she kept moving until she came across a quiet area she could sit and think without hurting anyone. She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down.
“Hello young lady.” Makoto looked up. There was a very attractive woman standing in front of her, talking to her. “You seem upset, are you alright?” “I’m fine.” This woman made her uncomfortable. Something was wrong… “Are you sure? Why don’t you let me buy you a hot chocolate?” The woman persisted. “No thanks, I’m alright.” Makoto began to squirm and try to scoot away. “No, you need to come with me.” The woman reached out to grab Makoto’s wrist, succeeding. “No! Let go!” Makoto yelled, releasing an amplified amount of the static electricity she created into the area and the women. The lady cried out in pain, her skin flipping like scales to reveal many identities and settling on a blue face. Makoto was stunned, as much about the woman as she was about herself. She tried to get up and run but by the time she was able to recover herself, the woman was moving again. The people around had begun to shriek and cry out for help. Not long after other people, mutants clashed in a fray. Makoto seemed to be in the middle of it. Finally, she seemed to land under the care of a team of mutants in black and yellow uniforms.
“What’s going on?” Makoto asked, trying to put pieces together. “Where are you taking me?” “To a safer place than this where you can learn to control your powers.” A woman with silver hair said to her. Soon and with little argument from Makoto, they were off. It wasn’t long before they arrived at their destination, The Academy.
Personality: Makoto continues to struggle with the death of both her parents, making her serious in many situations. She is compassionate and quick to help, preferring to solve her problems by helping others. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. Makoto likes to think of herself as strong and independent but with a great need for community.
Daniel began to steep the carefully measured and bagged ingredients for Avery. He awaited the responses of Iris and Bane as the good captain seemed to be directing the question more to them. In any case, Daniel tossed his two cents in.
"Th' crew be healin' well. 'ts too early t' really tell i' thar be any lastin' harm."
As of right now, there is only a search bar when one goes to look at the current users signed up with RPG. I was wondering about a general search bar or one on each interest check page. This way if users are looking for a specific theme/universe it would save them searching and scrolling through pages of interest checks.
Thanks for looking at my suggestion and have a good day!
I find that there are 3 things that work best for me to remedy writer's block.
1. Reading. Sometimes it's a light fiction novel, other times it's a news article or blog posts. It helps me take a step away from the RP to gain new perspectives, new ideas, new techniques to try and ultimately a little break so that I can gather all of this fresh material.
2. University. Seriously, I seem to write best and break through writer's block after going to lecture or listening to podcasts of professors just talking. Considering and listening to educated discussions on various topics seems to both continue to spark my interest in that topic, generate questions for me to seek answers to but also open my mind to thinking in a more dynamic/fluid manner. The latter I think is really what does it for solving writer's block.
3. Listening to music. More often than not it's epic instrumental music but other times I begin a hunt to find a song that matches the situation in the RP. Usually, if I can find a piece or a few pieces that match the emotion or flow of what's happening then I can use the music to help check what the character(s) I'm playing would do in that situation. Sometimes it matches the music, sometimes not.
I hope this helps someone at somepoint in the future!
"Thank you, Scarlet." Amelia smiled in relief. To have her feet back on solid ground would be lovely. She was not looking forward to going back into society though. She had found that doing honest work with Scarlet had been fun and rewarding.

The three wound their way around the ship and straight to the Captain's Quarters' door. It was slightly ajar now. Daniel knocked and awaited either Bane or Avery's approval to enter.
"Cap'n, i've returned with the remedy and Bane and Iris." he called into the gap. He caught a flickering out of a light as he was close to the door.
Daniel couldn't help but smirk. This crew cared so much about each other. For pirates, they were terribly unselfish. He thought to himself that of all the naval ships, this would be the grandest. Their crew cohesion and care was unlike any other, and much of what naval captains strived for.
"Tis part o' me job. Tis not easy t' convince a fine sail'r tha' they need t' slow down. Iris, ye de need t' take 'er easy. Yers is not a quick fix. 'T's been 'round t' long fer tha. Af'er a battle, keep off o' i' as much as possible. Keep doin' those exercises an' eventually ye will be better."
It saddened him some that he was not able to simply just heal everyone that crossed his path. Then again, miracle workers often went to their doom by helping people.
"I be on me way t' take this t' Cap'n." Daniel said, half as a statement and half as an invitation.
Is there a particular public figure that has greatly influenced your life? Are there a few? Who would they be? How have they influenced you?
I have been curious lately and would like to hear some of your opinions :)
Mine is Mother Theresa. Her words have really set a guideline for my life. I love how she approaches making a difference, putting value in the little moments in life that can make a positive impact in the world. I always found that there was a lot to learn from her life and her experiences.
