Name: Mavick Sword Storm
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance:
Personality: Mavick is a self proclaimed hero. He enjoys fighting evil and helping people. He enjoys it so much there is almost no way to possibly imagine himself doing something other than adventuring. However, if Mavick did try another profession the young hero you see now would become a short old hermit who likes to speak in riddles within a week. Fighting for justice and peace is more of an obsession for this young man.

This trait however doesn't make him a very friendly guy, but simply a very focused and determined man. The lengths Mavick will go to in order to help someone can range from comical to quite disturbing, but this makes him a rather valuable temporary party member. Eventually his own recklessness can and will get others in trouble.

Abilities:

Master Swordsman- Capable of duel wielding swords effectively and outfighting most warriors in single combat. Mavick has trained almost his entire life and can impress even the strongest of swordsman in skill.

Inhuman Reflexes and Agility- Mavick seems almost naturally capable of reacting extremely quickly to any possible threat. It allows him to survive most situations when he's outnumbered or simply facing a stronger opponent.

Magical Knowledge and Detection- Mavick comes from a family that is expected to fight any enemy which forces them to be very knowledgeable. This is especially the case when it comes to magic. Being able to identify and sometimes neutralize magical items or traps has saved Mavick countless times. The only magic he was able to learn was the ability to detect it properly.

Notable Equipment, Traits, etc;:

In another world Mavick could use his skills to become a powerful Hero rivaling some of the Demon King's strongest Lords. However, in this one he is cursed with equipment made to test heroes like himself.

Sword of Destiny- This weapon takes the shape of a dark black longsword. Its aura is strong enough to turn away some of the most daring adventurers, but when wielded it will bring doom. The doom it brings is terrible luck to its wielder which often ends in their death. Mavick however is from a long line of heroes who's own destiny keeps them alive when they should've perished. In this case the sword simply makes every single fight Mavick enters a struggle. Mavick could try and kill a rat and the rodent could potentially escape while giving him a wound.

Lorick's Dagger- Another Longsword that shines a bright emerald green was said to be a weapon wielded by an old god known as Lorick. This god was a trickster that brought down an almost forgotten civilization and its weapon was always given to would be heroes. Whenever this weapon comes into contact with another weapon, or armor it shatters. Its cursed forcing the one who uses it to keep using it until they die. Mavick is capable of wielding it with some minor effectiveness by being able to parry attacks just before it shatters. The curse forces him to be unable to use other weapons, but if this weapon is a very powerful magical weapon it will simply break like Lorick's Dagger. Both will reform in seconds.

Both weapons are essentially curses that Mavick is unable to get rid of and severely hampers his fighting ability, but this to him is just another challenge for a hero.

Adventurer's Journal- Mavick has done almost nothing but travel for over 5 years. He's met many new people, discovered ruins and killed a lot of dangerous creatures. It would only make sense for Mavick to document these experiences in his journal. This journal contains information on different cities, races, monsters etc. This along with other books detailing the history of the land he traverses has made Mavick somewhat of a wondering scholar. When facing new dangerous monsters or seemingly unknown territory Mavick usually has some knowledge of it.

History: Mavick SwordStorm is from a large family of heroes. Most of them were adopted and trained to become the best of the best. He was brought into the family as a infant and essentially was raised with greatness in mind. His whole life was a mix of training how to fight for others and learning enough about the world to learn why he should. To be raised in a environment where he needed to be a fighter and in some ways a philosopher was a struggle. This was a struggle he endured for years in order to become the warrior he is now.

At the age of 15 Mavick took on a quest that would change his life. The quest was a mission to destroy a cult that were kidnapping children from farms. He found their hideout and defeated the group. When they surrendered he was offered two weapons. These weapons were something there new god was meant to wield, but his own power impressed them so they saw fit for him to use them. Mavick took them as general loot for his trouble, but didn't realize the curse behind them. Every battle after that nearly saw him killed or sometimes humiliated. He went from a top hero to a skilled but rather weak adventurer. This was something he couldn't abide but luckily he trained his whole life for something like this. He would keep fighting in order to overcome this curse and defeat the greatest evil despite a almost divine handicap.

Other: Sometimes Mavick talks to his swords and occasionally he thinks they talk back to him.
Okay. Just a question, though, in case it might come up: if an ally was to take on both Mavick and another enemy at the same time (as in actively trying to fight both), what ends up happening? Do they get a boost in skill only towards him, or what?

This is one of those abilities that has a chance to actively affect other players, so.

Their skill lvl or I guess more accurately "The likelihood of them performing with less mistakes" will go up as long as Mavick is an opponent. Its possible to cheese the situation sort of, but it has to be a legitimate fight or at least Mavick would have to consider it one. In some situations that could help the group and turn a loss into a win. However, for the situation to end up like that would be very complicated and in most cases wouldn't even work.
I've read about the setting and rules for the rp, but I have a question that I'm not entirely sure if they were answered in the op.

Will heroes have a general rule against killing? I get the feeling if a hero had to kill someone this would generally be a very last resort. I'm just wondering if this is simply forbidden.
:I

Well, my weekend was eaten by work, so I spent a lot of time TRYING to read the form but no time actually able to GET to a response. SO let me try handling that now.

@Hillbilly12: Er... I don't like the spyglass... Well, existing. Weapons are fine, I thiiink that abilities should be okay so long as they only affect his solo fights and don't affect any nearby fights going on with other trash mobs. I'm not sure how it'd interact with other people fighting the same enemy, though, so idk.

Rest should be fine considering the tone of the RP. Clarification, then we're proooobably good to go?

I don't mind getting rid of the spyglass it was just something I tossed in. If Mavick were to get assistance when fighting it would definitely help out. The main thing the Sword of Destiny does is effects Mavick's own luck and to an extent the enemy. They make less mistakes overall making it rather difficult to defeat them. With assistance Mavick will more often than not win, but whoever helps him will probably wonder how some random pickpocket was able to fight decently.
A rp based off of a surprisingly decent anime. Well I want to jump into this.

If you haven't noticed Mavick would be pretty powerful in most situations, but his equipment severely hampers him. That and his general obsession with being a hero also brings him down a bit. Not sure if he's still too powerful or not.
Looks like I joined a little late. Oh well hope your next rp goes a little better.
Okay, it's a bit late... but you don't explain why he's working in Japan and registered with the SUPER branch there. ^^;

... Also I have no idea where @Gingerboi123 is, he needs to post. I've tried mentions.

Sorry I'll put that in.

Now done.

Name: Henry Bonham
Hero Name: Flash Step
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Superhero Appearance:

This but without the cape and a "FS" on the chest instead of R.
Personality: It is very difficult for some with intimate knowledge of Henry to believe he could actually be a hero. His own ego and over inflated sense of self shows symptoms of narcissism, but his selfless nature is still present. He wants to be better human beings than his peers who are all wealthy and incredibly selfish. Therefore he acts as nice as possible and try to be as pleasant as possible to be around. He's still the type of person who enjoys showing off his new clothes, but as a hero he will put the lives of the innocent first. This is no easy task considering he has grown up with a family full of villains, but he tries to battle his upbringing every day simply because failure is not something he enjoys.
Equipment: Henry is an extremely wealthy company executive allowing him to purchase proper equipment most superheroes would likely find valuable.

Bo Staff- A retractable Bo Staff made out of materials both resistant to high caliber bullets and extremes in temperature.
Taser Knuckles- A stun weapon you wear like brass knuckles.

Ballistic protection- Henry's costume uses ceramic plates and a ballistic weave to protect from bullets and even knives.

Abilities: Henry could be considered an Esper. His only ability is Teleportation allowing him to disappear and reappear in different locations. However, this ability is extremely limited in its use. It took some time for him to test its limitations, but for now this is what he was able to discover.

There is a limit on distance traveled using teleportation. Henry is only capable of traveling 50 meters regardless of physical state or location.

Henry is only capable of moving objects just under the mass and weight of a luxury sedan. Also he is only capable of teleporting with the object, not the object itself nor can teleport parts of the object's mass from itself. A possible reason for this is possibly how he subconsciously examines the object. Of course, this is mostly just a theory.

Skills: Henry believes himself to be skilled at almost anything relevant. Top grades in school, good at most sports, great cook, aggressive and intelligent businessman etc. yet his skill as a superhero is lacking in comparison to experienced heroes. He's trained in various martial arts and is a quick learner when it comes to field experience. Some minor firearms training simply to give some familiarity with the weapons some his enemies would use. Good situational awareness and a grasp for tactics most heroes and villains have to survive.

Brief Backstory: Born in Atlanta, Georgia to an extremely wealthy family Henry had both a lucky and frustrating life. He was sent to the best schools, learned skills and met people that would eventually bring him into the upper echelons of society. This was done and encouraged heavily by his family who were also some of the best and powerful in their fields. Whether it was politics, business, music or dance they were near the top and expected the same from him. When his abilities began to appear as a teenager they even wanted him to put those to use of course in a way they saw fit. It didn't take long for him to figure out his own path and was slowly learning what his family really was. His mother wanted him to participate in magical rituals to enhance his ability and summon a dark god. Henry's father hinted at using it for corporate espionage and his siblings had other sinister ideas that he mostly assumed were just jokes. The more he learned about this world and his own family the more he wondered if they were some weird cabal of super criminals.

Eventually Henry started working for his father. While he had issues with his business practices and sought to follow a less legally blurred path it was still a good job which challenged him daily. One day during a company after party a group of heavily armed criminals crashed the party and began taking some hostage. When they were beginning to shoot anyone trying to stop them Henry reacted immediately and used his powers to try and get as many people as he could out. By teleporting people and even the shooters to distract and disarm them Henry brought enough time for actual heroes to come and save them. His efforts were recognized as heroic if reckless, but for Henry he never felt better than he did trying to help innocent people. From then on he worked for two years training to become a proper hero.

Henry relocated to the new offices in Japan Bonham set up. Prior to this Henry registered with SUPER and it wasn't a coincidence his father wanted to send to a place where superheroes were needed. Henry surmised this was likely done with extra publicity for the company in mind. However, this was perfect for anyone looking for villains or monsters to defeat.
Hero Rank: D

Henry did extremely well on the written tests but the physical ones still placed him at D level. Any higher would be far too dangerous no matter how fit he was.

I can just make it simple and go with teleportation. Also not going to have a character up until I read through the IC.
I put that in there because it was a trick you could do in Portal, but it probably would work if the opponent is just mostly confused the entire time. If they react fast they could just stretch out their arms and legs to grab onto the edge of the portal and stop. Probably won't work if they're a child or really short and can't fly.
