I like rats, jalapeño poppers, y2k aesthetics and idol games. I am pretty extroverted on the internet due to how easy it is to connect with people with similar interests. My personality may come across as aggressively friendly or over the top at times and I apologize in advance for that, whoops.

As for my strange signatures and profile pictures, a lot of them are a part of a specific aesthetic I´ve developed over the years that's basically 2000s aesthetics with a focus on the technology that explore themes of loss, abandonment, filth, and hopelessness, rather than the optimistic and mainstream view of the future that was common during that period of time.

Kaito turned to Hiroko. Learning spells in a second? He thought it made sense but, it didn't feel right. "No, I didn't learn it, or at least I think I didn't. It felt like I'd known this spell my whole life." The feeling was invasive somehow. It made the rest of his memories feel flimsy and up for grabs by whatever or whoever decided dropping them into a fantasy forest was a reasonable idea.

He made the ball of light fade away, as if he knew how to dispel it from years of experience. "If we find ourselves in a dangerous situation like last time, I could see if I can copy what Ipharia does again."

There was a certain satisfaction to forming a factual hypothesis for what felt like an eternity since the last time. By accepting the existence of fantasy, he could use it as a foundation for similar ideas, he realized. A tight frown formed though, upon learning that Ipharia wasn't versed in combat magic.

His drive to think didn't fade. This world that had known the touch of magic for more than a thousand years was now sprawled in front of him. He looked at his pale thin wrist with wonder for the first time in his life, realizing that his potential had surpassed that of his old self. In him wasn't just blood, it was mana. And it could change the world through his thoughts alone.

"Your language... it must have been the first hint towards realizing that we were in another world. Waking up and being able to read strange symbols in a sign with no problems, it's not something that happens to normal people."

Octavio stretched his arms back and let out a sigh. The food that the Kharu-Natjer had offered them looked about as lavish as the type of food he'd see at gatherings he wasn't supposed to be in. Alluring, sure, but right now, there was nothing he wanted more than to just sit back and let the bathing chamber's warm water melt his aches away. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt so relieved.

"Do you know what I'm going to do, Lynx? I am going to simply accept the water's nice temperature without questioning it." He leaned further back. "I needed this after all that running."

Lynx set a pair of vacant eyes on him, saying nothing. Octavio's eyebrows furrowed. He's questioning it.

Truthfully, Lynx had his thoughts centered on all of their surroundings. He had looked at the masterfully crafted dishes and the bathing chambers in the same fashion as an adult looking at children's toys, disconnected from the possibility of fun. For the familiar who could not eat nor feel any sort of acute or specific pleasure, the lair was nothing more than a temporary shelter to ruminate in, a place he could shake off the remaining uneasiness from his battle with the sightless and get lost in his own thoughts.

"As I've already told you, the battle distorted my mind for a moment."

Octavio remained quiet, eyes closed shut.

"One of the first things I remembered... was the agreement we made," he said, looking at the whirls of water, "on the first week we had met, when I'd fallen into a river."

"I think I remember. You clawed at me and I started shouting like a lunatic because getting blood on my robes would have doomed us both."

"Right... we spoke that day. We both admitted that, although neither knew where we'd be or what we'd do, we'd fight alongside one another."

One of Octavio's eyes snapped open. "Hm? And what is this about?"

"I'm worried about the future is all. But if we can continue surviving this well, I can steady my nerves," he said, turning to exit the chamber. "I should see what the others are discussing, it could be important."

After a large pause, he opened both of his eyes. In his mind Lynx's words rang deep. It set him on the path of developing doubts and theories against his will. The worries grew as his scope grew, taking in even the most recent events. It was strange that Lynx was showing a sudden concern over the opinions of others, as strange as the amount of times he had mentioned Sil in their conversations.

He let out a dramatic sigh.

I guess a little relaxation was too much to ask for. He watched Lynx exit the bathing chamber, off to ask the others about that fairy. I will have to check up on him... at some point. Not now. I have to relax.

His eyes shifted.

How did they make the water so warm?
Shutter, Shutter, Shutter. The wonder bug that was a living nightmare against anything slower than her glassy wings. It had been awhile since her last real battle, though Lark didn't consider her an option for a four-way battle for even a moment. Battling with her was a very technical endeavor, and not something he saw himself pulling off when there were three other pokemon against her. He needed someone aggressive, someone who could handle the chaos of that kind of battle and add to it just as much. He looked at the pokeball pertaining to his only other choice.

"We're really doing this, huh. Guess it's Flash for me." He thought about letting him out inside the pokemon center, but multiple incidents in the past regarding Flash and tight spaces all pointed towards it being a horrible idea. How did that one expression go, like a bouffalant in a china shop? He was lucky that the pictures from that one time went viral and paid for themselves.

"Miss Ebisawa, please calm down! It's common for students to have part time jobs nowadays." His thoughts drifted for a moment. The last part didn't sound appropriate considering their circumstances.

She struggled to give a more in-depth explanation to her own ideas. Kaito understood virtually almost none of it. "Vending machines?" It was as if he was back in square one in terms of knowing what teenagers were into nowadays. The fact that an isekai, at least according to what Honami said, could technically have anything in it wasn't very promising either in terms of giving him answers. Quite the opposite in fact, as it filled Kaito with foggy images of fantasy monsters that someone like Honami would have probably labeled painfully generic had they been in a videogame. He needed to come up with a way to defend himself, and fast.

If there was anything he knew about magic, it was that one had to utter some sort of incantation or perform some special movement, and he wasn't about to let his one chance of survival slip by. Kaito leaned back defensively and began to copy Ipharia's movements. He bent his long legs awkwardly and paid special attention to her hand, only to yank his arm back at the first sign of Ipharia's ball of light.

The uncertainty slowly vanished upon seeing the paranormal glow envelop her, however. His body relaxed and arched, and any traces of hesitation in his eyes were replaced by a vacant stare. He knew of this magic, as if it was a childhood dream rendered in front of him. One that had never been forgotten, perfectly preserved and capable of showing that miracles could exist.

He wordlessly summoned an orb identical to Ipharia's above his outstretched palm. There it hovered, its gentle streaks of light shining across his green eyes as if greeting him.

"I...what?"

The Madagascar hissing cockroach. A large and docile species of cockroach, popular within exotic pet circles and recognized by the ability to hiss through a specialized respiratory opening. One was currently snuggled up inside of the chest pocket of a fifteen year old boy in Vida. His disheveled appearance would have been interpreted as advanced homelessness by the general population had he actually left his home frequently. Today, however, was a rare day in which the young Oliver Clive actually did step outside.

The teenage boy´s plan was to go just outside of the town´s perimeter to scout for beetles to add to his insect menagerie back at home. Despite the area being relatively safe, his worrywart tendencies resulted in Oliver gearing up as if it were a daylong trip. A couple of snacks, a journal, thick tube socks, the usual. Any insect acquisitions would be transported with glass jars and fed with whatever food he had brought along for the day. This would all happen after a much desired visit to the library.

The library. Full of people. His eyes strained with the thoughts of what he'd have to endure in order to stock up on the right books. Gawking and "good morning"-s and question after question. It was almost impossible to believe that the creatures responsible for such a cacophony of meaningless noise were convinced that insects were the real pests. Couldn't anyone else see insects were the holy grail of biology, the only living beings that were powerful enough to outlast those horrid dinosaurs?

His fists curled as he ascended the stairs to the top floor. He hoped she wouldn't be there. This would just be a routine visit to the library, no more, no less. A sputter messily left his clenched teeth, however upon seeing the girl and her dinosaur again. They were so close to the science section, or as Oliver called it, the ninety percent dino section.

He moved to the shelves with the trepidation of a prey animal and began browsing for anything that could help him with his current beetle obsession, maintaining intense bursts of eye contact with whatever that strange avian creature was. A small drop of sweat ran down his forehead as he surveyed its sharp teeth. And it's talons! Who knew what level of carnage that thing was capable of! And how would he escape if it were to go on a bloodthirsty rampage?

Oliver lingered from the dinosaur to the girl for a moment longer than what was socially acceptable. "G-good morning," he said, dragging a heavy tome out of a shelf like a robot.

Kaito rested his eyes on Honami, then Hiroko. "What did both of you do before this incident happened? Career-wise, Education-wise." He could tell Ipharia was doubting her words, but she was familiar with their bizarre surroundings and so it made sense to view her as the current voice of reason.

"I was a therapist. I helped people with most problems that weren't physical. Mental problems." He nodded sheepishly at Ipharia. "It's not a career associated with physical strength. In fact, while we were ambushed I also tried to fight back. I threw a large stone... it didn't work. "

He was tempted to simply show her the contents of his journals, but he knew the jargon would just complicate matters further. It was hard to imagine a fantasy world having a complex grasp on mental health.

Alex watched the other players like it was tennis match, head bobbing back and forth as each one added their own two cents, unsure of what to do with him and the rest of the newbies. It reminded him of his first day of work at the Burger Shack, with the employees having been firmly split between those that wanted to get some use out of the guy and the rest who ignored his existence.

It wasn't a crazy comparison to make. There was a job that offered money and everyone present was there to accept it. It struck him how boring heroism and adventure sounded when you looked at it that way. He focused his gaze on Rael as she spoke. Would her questions make her the manager?

Trying to make his own questions got tough once he started seeing this for the job interview it basically was. Uniforms? Didn't matter. Schedule? 'Till the job got done. Starting pay? Even they didn't know.

The others not answering pressured him into wanting to ask whatever, though. Oh, that's probably important.
