Huh. o.o Welp, that's another reason to visit Scotland.'Cherry flavored soda' here just means Cherry Coca-Cola, which is nasty because it's just regular coke with that hard bitter aftertaste made ten times worse and everything else dulled down considerably. Honestly I'm not sure cherry is really a popular choice for flavoring ANYTHING where I live, probably at least because of that and cherry-flavored cough syrup, which is medicine and automatically gag-inducing.

I actually like Cherry Coke... and Cherry Dr Pepper, as well. Maybe that's just me, though. You can buy so many varieties of well-known drinks at the grocery stores where I live, though. From just Coca-Cola alone, I can buy the classic flavor, cherry, diet, Coke Zero (no sugar, so the taste is far smoother), Vanilla Coke, Vanilla Coke Zero, and caffeine-free versions of some of those flavors, too. I honestly don't know much about what Pepsi offers -- I stand pretty firmly on the Coke side of the "Coke or Pepsi?" question.
Everyone is familiar with brands like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, etc.? There's a lot of drinks made by the first two companies and the third has several varieties besides the classic one. I actually just call them either by their names, by "drinks" if I'm not being specific, or "soda" if I mean a carbonated beverage. There are some carbonated drinks I wouldn't call "soda", like this kind of flavored water I bought some months ago that happened to be fizzy, but for the most part, "soda" to me is some form of carbonated beverage.
Lauren turned her attention from Bryan and Dale to Vindle, who still seemed to be making up his mind as to what he wanted to order. She'd seen him every now and then, buying something that he'd always said he was for his sister and not for himself. Normally, he'd just be in and out, but this was the first time he'd stayed around for this long.

"Hey. Now that everything's settled down, mind if I recommend something to you? There are some really good sugar cookies that I just took out of the oven before we opened. They're still really warm." She spoke to him, hoping she could guess at his preferences.
Lol. I personally don't ever want to drink coffee for that very reason -- the dependence on the caffeine. Water is where it's at. Can't live without that.
Thought it was a little early in the morning for something like that, although some people are really cranky before they get their morning coffee.
Oh gosh, I didn't realize so much was going on over here. I've been busy watching livestreams and laughing at them. Yeah, that'd be nice to know how the individual days are going to flow.
Lauren was unsure why the man would give just away over forty dollars like that. He must seriously have been in some major bind if that didn't bother him. Maybe he was very rich and could just afford to throw money around like that. She sighed, looking at the change she just made out of the fifty. He never said it was a tip, did he? He just said to keep the change. Her thoughts were interrupted briefly by the conflict breaking out between some of the guys, but as Dale seemed to have the situation under control, she went back to wondering about the money. She decided to write down the amount of it on her notepad along with the word "Tip?" before tearing out one of the sheets and placing it in her apron, watching the blonde girl that had ordered the cake walk towards the cafe's doors.

'I'll just ask Dale or the manager later about it. Right now, that's not my money... though it would be really nice if it was.' She then decided to put the money back into the register. It was still very early in the morning, and so much had happened already. Even if it was a one-off thing, it was definitely a difference from what she was used to while working here.
The man that had burst towards the front of the line and was impatiently tapping on a large bill looked like he was late for some really important meeting, Lauren thought. She filled a glass of water and quickly made the sandwich. She gave him his change and set the items he was asking for in front of him.

"Here you go, sir." She noticed Dale had brought out the order of a blonde girl who looked overjoyed after eating a bit of the cake. Something on Dale's face didn't look particularly pleased by it. Maybe it was the fact that so many people had come into the cafe right as it opened. He had been sweeping the floor before they opened, and she thought she could hear him talking to himself before she went into the storeroom to check the inventory. They didn't talk to each other that much outside of work, but she guessed that today was going to be one of those days for him.
Lauren came out from the door to the storeroom, looking towards her co-worker Dale and tightening her apron.

"Okay, I've just finished making sure we have everything stocked." She noticed that the cafe had suddenly gotten an influx of people, and that Dale was waiting for a new customer to give him his order. It wasn't something she really expected right after opening, but it was nice to skip the boring waiting part before people would start coming in. It looked like they were all people around her age, which was even better.

"I can take the next order!" She said, loudly enough to catch the attention of anyone who would still be waiting.
Name: Lauren Fletcher
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Description: Shoulder-length brown hair, large brown eyes, Caucasian with a slightly pale skin tone. Stands at 5'3" (160 cm), with an average build.

Bio: Grew up in a calm, frugal household. Her family has recently moved to the area upon which the school and cafe are situated, as her dad had secured a job that allowed them to live much more comfortably. Being an only child, most of the company she had before were her old friends, but now must start over in a new place. She thinks that the best way to make new friends would be to work at the cafe.

Personality: Understands the value of the little things, having been taught to appreciate what she had when her family didn't have much to spend. Is what one would call an introvert, needing some time alone after lots of interaction with people. This doesn't mean she doesn't like to be with people -- in fact, she very much loves to talk to them. Prefers to have a couple of close friends rather than a large group of acquaintances.

Likes: Reading speculative fiction (sci-fi, fantasy, anything in between), singing, shopping, freshly-baked cookies, having the opportunity to be lazy sometimes.
Dislikes: Wasting things, rambunctious people, being alone for too long.
Other: Is left-handed. Wears a plain-looking silver ring on the ring finger of her right hand. It has meaning to her, but she only explains it to those close to her.
