I'm down

Five hundred years into the future, Civilization fell. It didn't happen overnight, but to those who still cling to long past days of bliss that are left, it feels that way.

No one really knows how it happened or why, but society as everyone knew it was gone. War had ravaged the earth leaving it scarred and almost barren, nations were left crumbled and their citizens scattered due to famine and war. Thanks to the level of science humanity had reached before the nuclear fallout, the blow it had suffered had been mitigated by a small amount. Even a small amount had been enough to give everyone a fighting chance to survive the new world that had awaited them and the generations to come.

Technology had not received the the same fate as most of humanity's inventions like cars, trains, and planes had fallen into decay. Anything that had required parts from long before the war or heavy maintenance had been left to rot. Reduced to bows and swords save for a few dozen firearms, they were hard to come by as guns require upkeep that would be hard to maintain. People became wanderers, merchants selling secrets for better survival, nomads, or those choosing to live by the sword as hired guns or bandits. Even though they were forced to live in small tribes and communities, humanity did as it always does, it endured. Enduring is easier said than done as the radiation has left most of the wild animals on the barren side scarred and feral with only a few that were safe to consume. Plant life had been all but destroyed and water, although some of it was safe to drink, was scarce. Temperatures and weather on this side of the world ranged from blistering heat in the day, to warm, or cold nights. Sandstorms ere somewhat a constant and rain was not a friend.

Not everything had been terrible for the entire planet forever. After several years of famine, the earth had began to heal, even if some parts of the earth were beyond healing. civilization had start to bounce back even if only by a little. Mother nature claimed what was originally hers as vegetation started to grow in the now abandoned cities. Habitats sprung back to life leaving animals to claim some of them and without the threat of extinction animal life had thrived. Society had taken the chance to build three sanctuary cities around the places that life had returned. Resources were not a problem as people who lived to the cities were assigned jobs from explorers, to soldiers, to doctors and the latter. People who traveled far to join the city were forced to give up what resources they had in order to gain citizenship. To keep from overpopulation the cities only let small groups people from the outside in once every fifty years.

after losing the caravan and arriving at the city with what remains of the group, They will have to adjust to their new lives as citizens of Sanctuary being assigned new jobs and living quarters. The city however, is not the paradise the group once hoped for as they will soon find out.

Hello I'm Hydde. I've been roleplaying for a while now and coming back from an on off hiatus. I've been a bit rusty after coming back, so I've been struggling to regain some of the skills I had. Sadly I haven't seen anything I've been interested in, so I said "Screw it, I'll make my own." This is what I'm hoping to get off the ground. I originally planned to make this a three part story, but, I forgot what I wanted to do with chapter one, so keep in mind this is only chapter two. If all goes well I'll roll out chapter three and I may even think of a fourth chapter if this stays alive long enough. I'm looking for small group of maybe three to four (possibly more) players to run through this with. If I get enough people interested, I'll roll out the CS, as far as spots are concerned, first come first served
Is this still going?

Winner, Iza! As the cheers and groans from the crowd verberated, The scruffy looking gentleman who had been considered the referee of the match held her hand high. As her arm was raised in victory, she clenched her sides as they exploded in pain from the sudden movement. Battered and bloodied, body covered in bruises, left eye swollen and blackened, and blood that was a mixture of hers and her opponent's stained her pants and her brazier, she tried to remain standing as her legs were well on their way to giving out. She was exhausted, but at least she would have enough to get a room somewhere before curfew and maybe even a hot meal. She managed to limp her way to the away from the makeshift arena to where she left her stuff doing her best not to lose what she had for lunch. She untied the wraps on her hands and put her hair up the best she could and struggled to pull her shirt over her head. Her head popped through the collar as she pulled her arms through the sleeveless holes tightening her belt around her waist and putting her wrist guards on.

(I hope you'll allow me to join, if not, I'll delete my post)
Hey, IRL stuff is kinda taking up my time, so I'm gonna have to drop out, sorry
@sniblet I'm stuck at work right now but I can post when I get home
@Sniblet that sounds like a good idea. I have her near the scene and she's heard about the murder. I'm thinking maybe she's gone out to grab something and Mira spots Leigh near the crime scene and comes to question her as a potential witness or something. Or we can just go with your idea of making too much noise on the rooftop after Mira leaves
I'm still on my own, sooooo, kinda just looking for a place to jump in
I'll get one up soon, I've been busy with IRL stuff

The grey skies that had rolled in had brought rain, almost enough of it to drown out the ever bustling noises of Nova City, almost. It was days like this she loved to spend all day on the balcony of the studio she rented. Living above the place she worked had its benefits, especially in one of the city's most notorious districts. It was a small place and unlike what she was used to in the past, but it was comfortable. She preferred it over the glitz and glamour of the various luxury hotels, the only thing she missed was sharing the room with someone. Sharing rooms with her sister were what made the places they stayed bearable and it was the only quality time she felt she could spend with her only kin.

In this city, good moments are rare which meant take what you can get. Leigh stared out into almost night colored sky as she let her mind drift while the rain droplets berated the uncovered areas of the building landing on the metal and making a soft clanking noise. She closed her eyes and took in all the sounds, the roaring of the cars that drove by, the sound of the neighbors tv that could heard from across the way talking about a woman who had been murdered. Nothing ever stayed peaceful for too long and it was hard to stay surprised at any violent crimes in Nova. At least the shop was closed for the day. The murder somewhat stayed on her mind as she continued to let her thoughts drift, yet to someone who lived here, it seemed like nothing to worry about. It was most likely gang related, the various gangs were always at each other's throats. It was always disputes over territory.
