He felt surprisingly calm as he looked over all the new faces, perhaps it was just that calmness one would have before impending unavoidable doom. He got his apple from Zaru and were glad to gobble down on it like if it was his final meal. He nodded to the chimchar before letting out a sigh as he looked to the others.
"Thank you Zaru..." he would say and once he finished his apple and everyone had started getting a bit orientated around the place he leaped down from the reception desk and headed towards the door, it was getting late... or rather 'early' by now, and he was actually way more tired than he thought he would be.
With a loud yawn he glanced to the new faces with a smile,
"Uhm Well with that settled its time for me to go home..." he said as he yawned again and slugishly headed to the door before glancing back one last time.
"See you... tomorrow" he said and then slowly made his way over to his house, he was honestly glad that it didn't look like the Guild master was returning for a while. However he even thought he was worried about Rico and Lulu he knew they would be safer with their father than they would be with himself. It was with a half empty state of mind he crept through the window of his house and wiggled down to the floor below.
Then he let out a sigh of relief, he had made it... he was back home... and boy did that bed look soft and shiny. He slugishly smiled and headed over towards the bed when he suddenly froze mid step and turned more and more pale. 'Shiny?'... he repeated in his mind, with a laggish head movement he turned towards the 'shine' in the room and realized several rings lit up.
"I... almost survived...." he whimpered to himself and then he met the end... it was his mother, she had found him out... she was really pissed beyond anything and... well he didn't quite remember the last bit so much...
"Mom... I'm home" he said sheepishly before falling to his sideas he drifted asleep.
The next day when he awoke however and shook awake he realized something was off, he slowly crept to the living room to see his mother again. He lowered his ears and padded up to her slowly, met by her disappointed gaze.
"Mom... I'm sorry. I kinda found ot my friends was hurt... I wanted to save them, its the truth... really. I also helped some pokémon find a place to sleep" he explained weakly, he then braced himself for that ear full that hadn't come the other night, but instead he was tightly hugged and he was certain he heard his mother sobbing.
"I... I was so worried... I didn't know how far you had gone this time, if you would come back, or if you was hurt... do you even understand that Milton?... its not the first time, but please. Be more careful, don't go anywhere without letting someone know. " The Umbreon said as she caressed him and holding him tightly. Hearing her that sad really tore a rift in Miltons heart, it was possibly ten times worse than hearing her yell at him for being careless, now he was filled with self doubt and a nagging feeling that he had hurt his mother...
"I'm sorry mother. I... make sure I do that in the future" he said as he hugged her back. It was a strange morning to say the least, his sister was already at school, and he himself... well apperently he had slept in a bit.
"I.. should get to the guild, I guess I have to get an earful from Master too. can I go?" he asked and looked to his mother. She sighed as she calmed down slightly,
"Very well... but be back by dinner time, I have voulunteered you to help Keckleon paint his new sign... should be suitable punishment for your shenanigans" she said, and there it came... he knew he wouldn't get away with just a sobbingm and thus nodded before he left for the guild.
"Alright mother, I see you later" he would say before he hurried back to the guild.
In fact he felt like he would probably come by the morning meeting, and he had a lot of conflicted emotions about how to feel about today. Arring in the guild hall he saw the new arrivals, they were here as well eh?... he nodded simply before he headed to the meeting hall.
"Junior Explorer Milton reporting in sir" he would say dutifully, even if he knew today would be a bit of a torment.
