There's so many people to trade with now! Shame I don't have the highest GDP any more, but I can trade with these new rich people for our mutual benefit :D

And Lydiah speaks Swedish, because it sounds cool.

It has a good concept and lots of dedicated playersOn a forum I used to frequent we had a NRP with a good concept and dedicated playersIt lasted a 100+ pages before recieving a sequel that also lasted a 100+ pages.

'O'
Wow. So many nations. This could be a really good, in-depth RP that goes on for a long time :D

Western Europe, 5th century AD

-The Romans are leaving Britain to defend their homeland as barbaric tribes from Europe attack Rome.
-This RP is set in this period, when the Anglo-Saxons from the mainland begin to settle in the British Isles.
-Tech is pre-industrial - bows, swords and spears are commonplace.
-Because this is an AU, different civilisations come into play - you can be Celtic, Saxon, Angle, Jute, Viking, Roman, maybe even Byzantine. Any civilisation you think would be realistic.
-This does not follow the real history! So you don’t necessarily have to name your tribe or nation by its historical name, or have it lie within the borders of a real kingdom. It’s up to you.
-Casual standards.
Barbaric tribes from Europe have driven south into Roman Territory, forcing the legions of the empire to return to their homeland. In their wake, a vacuum of power has opened up in their former lands, giving rise to new powers.

In the lush, fertile British Isles, these new powers are the first to take advantage of the change. Fierce Scandinavian Vikings sail south to new shores, Anglo-Saxons from Germany and Holland settle in green vales. Some Romans stay to defend their lives in Europe, other flee homeward to Rome from the onslaught. Celts, forced north and west by the invaders, struggle to survive as their resources dwindle and their honour wanes.

This RP will revolve around the conflicts and diplomacy between the civilisations in Britain, 5th century AD. You can be any of the civilisations above, or any others you may think of (so long as they could have realistically settled in Britain, please run them by me first). RPers can settle, trade, go to war, or merge with each other to form larger empires. There may even be NPC nations to interact with. Any other questions, requests and ideas you may have are welcome in this thread, and the OCC if there’s enough interest.

This is my first proper NRP, so if any of you veterans out there have any suggestions, they are more than welcome!
Who else is likely to join gowia?
I'll trade with anyone, then sell the goods for more elsewhere. It could work.

Just reading through all looks good and I love the banter. Oh I just want people to know if a couple of people team up and start steamrolling the FORCES OF NATURE may intervene and knock them back into place...to keep this fun for everyone and not just one super alliance...:L

FORCES OF NATURE? I sincerely hope they don't decide to send a tsunami or hurricane in Lydiah's direction - long. thin coastal countries don't do well in situations like those (though I don't think anyone does).

And if anyone's at risk of invasion by the Lance Empire, it's definitely going to be Lydiah.
Yay, loads of people like me! I have friends :D *naive whimper*
Never, ever, ever (ever) annoy rich people. It never, ever, ever (ever) ends well...
I'm very glad that Lydiah is not directly between your lands then!

If war does break out, we will probably declare neutrality (then again, that didn't protect Belgium and Luxembourg...).

Lydiah will be happy to take in any refugees and asylum seekers, and act as a mediator between warring nations. Unless of course, someone offers some nice incentives...
