You like to think that you're the best part of me but I confess, there is nothing left of you here.

But no matter how many fish in the sea, it'd be so empty without me.

Why is everyone so quiet?
Maddie Tyler was sleeping when the ship sank. One minute she was dreaming about riding along the beach front in the brand new Aston Martin she had purchased. The next thing she knew, she was hitting the water. The first thing that she felt was the cold. It stung her like a bee, piercing every inch of her body. Her body sank deep, immersing her in black water. Her lungs immediately deflated, giving up the small breath she had managed to take on her way down. She kicked to the surface, praying to anything she could to just give her air. As soon as she got her head above water, a heavy wave crashed down on top of her again, pushing her down farther than before. She thrashed upward again, unable to make much headway.

Every time she resurfaced, she was knocked back under by progressively larger waves. She couldn't breathe, she had water rushing in through her nose and mouth, and her mind was going absolutely nuts. It was racing, unable to form coherent thoughts; yet, at the same time, it was continuously telling her that she needed to get to the surface. It lasted for what seemed like hours. Finally, she broke through calmer waters. She took a deep breath of sweet air, filling her lungs and coughing.

She immediately took in her surroundings, desperately hoping for another life to cling to. A few feet ahead of her Maddie could see something floating in the water but it was too dark to make out what it was. She squinted, realizing it was a suitcase. She begged her muscles to move, pushing her toward it, hoping to use it as a flotation device. She grabbed ahold of it, throwing her weight on top of it. It immediately sunk, throwing her head back under the water. Her mind screamed at her again, desperate not to face the same agony she had just endured. When she made it back to the surface again, she saw a full length mirror floating. This had to be big enough to hold her. Sure enough she climbed on top and balanced, grateful to be out of the frigid water. "Somebody help me!" she called out. The waves crashed so loudly that she could hardly hear her own voice, let along the reply of anyone else. She looked in all directions, hoping to see something that could rescue her from this nightmare. The night sky was a deep, charcoal black; the only light was cast by the moon. In its rays, she saw her saving grace.

Only a few hundred feet away, Maddie saw land.

2/10 - I feel like someone would be murdered in a Tarantino movie to that song

Nya was stunned at the events that unfolded in front of her. Dyana, a girl she had never spoken to, got defensive about her talking Colt. Nya hadn't even had a chance to reply to Colt's apology before the small girl interrupted, kissing Colt and making a remark about Nya. She left before Nya even realized what happened. She turned back to Colt with raised eyebrows. "Uh....wow. I don't even know what to say." She paused a second, gathering her thoughts. "Um, don't worry about my shoulder. What kind of guard would I be if I couldnt take a simple dislocation, right?" She shifted uncomfortably. The space between her and Colt seemed smaller now that she was self-conscious. She took a small step back. "I uh, need to go talk to Seril. Or......anyone.....else....really." She turned abruptly, not giving the boy a chance to respond. She made a few steps down the hall before she turned back to him. "Oh, Colt. I don't really think Dyana is your type." She smirked slightly before finishing, "I think you'd do better with someone not so...her. But you know," she shrugged, "Whatever you're into." She turned back toward her dorm without gauging his response.

She made it back to her room, hoping Seril was in his. She knocked on his door. Now that her anger had passed, she wanted to try patching things up.

I apologize if this inconveniences anyone but I will be backing out of this RP. I'll post in IC to give my character a proper exit.
@WilsonTurner You should stay out of that hole, you're adorable.

Jada’s white earbud fell out. She sighed and put it back in. The subway lurched and she shifted uncomfortably. The man next to her was taking up far too much space, causing her to hold her legs together tightly and her shoulders to fold in uncomfortably. “Excuse me,” she said. It was barely above a whisper and the man clearly did not hear her. He was severely overweight and his brown, disheveled beard had bits of grey streaking through it. He coughed; clearly a smoker. “Um, excuse me please.” She said it again, this time louder. She pushed her arms out so they lay naturally. The man was like a brick wall and didn’t move. Jada gave up just as the subway came to a screeching halt. This was her stop. She picked up her soft brown messenger bag, putting away her music as she walked between the two car doors and onto the platform. She was headed to the Grinder. The lady she spoke to at church had told her so many wonderful things about a school just for people like her. This was the start of her new life and she wanted to make the most of it.

She headed up the terminal stairway. As soon as she reached the sidewalk, her eyes drew her to a small calico kitten on the ground, hiding itself in the shade of a newsstand. The woman at the stand seemed to have no idea it was there. Jada walked over and picked it up, sheltering it with the jean jacket she wore. “Hi there,” she said, smiling. The kitten was shaking, clearly afraid. Jada glanced at her watch. She had a bit of time before she had to arrive. She knew there was an animal shelter only a block from where she was. It was in the opposite direction than where she was headed but she knew she could make it there in time. She started to jog, hoping she wouldn’t be late.
-------------------------
Jada left the shelter with a smile on her face. The two women she met inside were incredibly helpful and fawned over the kitten the moment she walked in the door. She looked at her watch again. “Ah!” Time had passed faster than she had expected. She walked to the edge of the street, attempting to hail a cab. A bright yellow cab pulled over immediately and Jada hoped inside. She gave the driver the address. He eyed her suspiciously. “The Grinder?” he asked. She didn’t appreciate his tone and didn’t reply. She stared out the window the entire ride. When she arrived, she paid the driver without looking at him. He took off without a word. She turned to the school and took a deep breath. This is it, she thought, this is my new life.

She slipped in the back of the opening assembly, casually casting an illusion so that no one would notice she was there. She probably didn’t need to. There seemed to be enough of a distraction with a student playing baseball or something. Jada couldn’t really tell. She was too caught up in looking from face to face. These were going to be the people she would know for the rest of her life.
Is it necessary to post our field here in the OOC or do you just want it integrated into IC?
