would be par for the course really.
the mascot got the training but took them all wrong.
"Appear in her sight in a suitably dramatic moment!" (maintain a bit of a distance though) > Oh, I should pop right behind her and have her turn around to me.
"You can eat bigger things then you are, helps with cleaning up after the girls' fights." (Because the defeated tends to be in chunks.) > They said I could right? I could eat the corpse whole!

Due to not being human, it could have inhuman logic such as that. Kind of like how in Modoka Magica, Kyubey isn't truly evil, he just doesn't see eye to eye with humans. And how robots are often portrayed as taking things literally.

The mascots could have an instinct to consume all magical entities after they've been defeated, which would trigger that instinct. That's not really funny, though, just dark, and possibly compelling plotline depending on how it was dealt with. The cute little guy trying to hide the (to him very large) body just sounds like more wacky hijinks ensuing.

inb4 the mascot ate it.
Because grimderp.

The mascot is the size of a housecat at best. Unless he has cartoon physics mouth opening, he's in for a rough time.

*that awkward moment when you see your alternate reality mascot attempting to devour your alternate reality body by shoving the cranium into his jaws, getting his mouth stuck on it and choking him. The crime scene investigators would be so confused.
@Glass

Posted. Perhaps they fight because my character wants to force yours to "give her what she used to travel to this dimension" in order to escape. Yours won't/can't and things escalate as desperation hits.
The wavy white walls of the currently empty pocket dimension began to oscillate, hardly noticeable at first among the swirling mass before becoming increasingly violent. These waves began to push outwards with impossible flexibility, bending and stretching until the space-time of the area ruptured violently into a dark void from which crashed through a mechanical vessel made of an unknown dark metal and flashing with a multitude of lights. Lights that looked quite angry at the moment.

Suddenly an eruption of purple energy burst out one of the sides of this unknown machine, showering the area with debris which hit the “ground” below it with surprising noiselessness as the impacts were softened by whatever material made up this dimension. Then came another explosion. Then another. The thing fell fast and without any control, soon hitting the ground and giving off one final, much larger burst as it did so. The group rippled before settling once more.

A lone alien female exited through an opening made by way of a door panel clattering off it’s hinges to the ground. She stepped down onto the dimension for the first time, coughing from the smoke that poured out of the doorway behind her.

Her name was Lu’sula Lan Velfor, the lone survivor of this mission. The other crewmembers were…quite dead. She didn’t need to take much time to confirm this, and she didn’t want to spend any more time within the wreckage then what was absolutely required. She was in a relatively safe spot of the ship, but even that spot had become far too dangerous. Actually…she looked up at the worrying spot in this sky that was tearing apart the fabric of reality.

Oops. Perhaps this entire pocket dimension was far too dangerous. Perhaps they had pushed their luck just a little too much this time. Her brain was working in overtime, trying to figure out how she could possibly escape from here now. It was then that she realized she wasn’t alone.
Patrycja was smiling from ear to ear, laughing heartily and occasionally interjecting words of polish to the girl on the other side of her smartphone. She was laying on her stomach on her bed, legs bending up and down playfully behind her. She had short dirty blonde hair, an average face, and an almost lanky build covered in bright orange pajamas with white clouds on them.

Bzzzt. Her phone buzzed again, signifying that a new email was trying to get her attention. She’d never seen one so persistent. Her curiosity was starting to get the better of her. That and even her nerves couldn’t block it out forever.

“Well, guess I’d better go. Call you back tomorrow morning,” she said, still in polish, before hanging up. She clicked on the email just to stop the notification before even reading the content. It was in English, but she could still read it, albeit going over the words more slowly now that it had her attention. Magical girl? She did download a couple magical girl apps recently, so whoever sent this email likely got the head’s up that she was interested in those types of things. She wasn’t ashamed to admit it. Magical girls were awesome.

“Must be another app? Couldn’t hurt to check it out, I guess,” she said, not entirely thinking things through. To her this email seemed relatively harmless, albeit cheesy marketing. She was okay with a little bit a cheese.

She tapped the word yes, which she was able to recognize far more quickly. Suddenly she was filled with the most bizarre, albeit pleasant sensation erupt within her entire body all at once. Although it would have been soothing had she prepared for it, due to it’s unexpected nature it was enough to cause her to panic, flailing her limbs about before crashing out of bed just as an eruption of light burst through the room. She was still slightly dazed from the experience, but when she came too it soon dawned on her. She was now in what looked similar to traditional polish garb, albeit with some small alterations. The cloth didn’t feel entirely natural. It felt like it was brimming with power.

“Ah…I hit my head worse then I thought,” she stammered. “…now my phone’s talking to me in english. That’s nice…”

She moaned, sliding up into a sitting position against her bed while rubbing her temples.

“Focus, Patrycja. Let’s clear your head.”

However, she soon realized that her mind and body seemed to be in perfect condition. No, better than she ever felt before. How could this be? She reached for her phone, finding that she had grabbed a different one that she didn’t own. On it was a new magical girl game, complete with a chibi version of her. The name “Laughing Petal” appeared over her head.

Without thinking she signed the contract. She now realized that she was on the chat with other real live members.

“Let’s see…um,” she said to herself before typing in english, “can someone kindly explain what in the bloody hell is going on?” albeit with typos and poor grammar.

She didn’t know quite what to do right now. Should she close the app? Or was it too late? She wanted to at least find out more about what this was from the other girls. She understood most of the objective given to her, which appeared to suggest she go out and solve problems in real life. She had nothing against that. In fact it would be right up her ally. But this was all far too much to take in at the moment. There must be some language barrier at fault for this misunderstanding. But how did she get new clothes and this new phone?
I've caught up reading and shall now work on my post.

P.S. That most recent episode of Magical Girl Raising Project...wow. Looks like they're trying to outdo the other dark magical girl anime.
Some dark humor origin story for a magical girl mascot. You know how people react relatively calm to the whole, "you're a magical girl now" out of nowhere thing? Well this mascot appears and the girl realistically freaks out at this random magical being poping up next to her, causing her to stumble off a small embankment and die. Ironically she was to be the most powerful magical girl, dead from a five foot drop by the being sent to help her. And it's hilarious to imagine the cute mascot trying to hide the body.

Or maybe this is just an alternate reality. In the main one the story follows she's just knocked unconscious. She finds out why alternate reality her is dead at some point after schenanagins by the mascot to cover it up.

I think I have way too many magical girl plot lines in my head both parody and serious...
@ImportantNobodythats ok! Take your time!
