While Olivia and Josh talked, Taylor wandered off with Sadie on her own train of thought, watching the treeline as she took her shoes and socks off. She rolled up her pant legs and walked through the shallow waters of the lake up to her mid-calves. If it wasn't for the awful smell, this would actually be kind of nice. While Taylor was busy dazing off in her imaginings, Sadie came charging up at her, then running right around her feet. All the while, splashing the crap out of Taylor who squeals from the shock of the cold water on her face.
"SADIE! Ugh." She stuffs her socks into her shoes and throws them up onto the shore, running after her dog.
"Come here, Sadie. Sadie!" laughing to herself, she kicks water at the terrier and stops, halfway bent down, eyeing her dog who was now turned around facing her. Sadie lowered her head as if to mimic Taylor's own stance, making them look like they were in an old western stand-off. Taylor pretend-lunges at Sadie and the dog huffs as she advances a little, tail wagging slightly from side to side.
"Come on, Sadie-dog. Make your move." Sadie tilts her head, tongue lolling out of her mouth, but she doesn't make a move. Taylor shakes her head and smirks, talking low but knowing Sadie can hear her just fine.
"I'm gonna count to three. Kay?" Sadie's eyes grow wider, tail beginning to wag a little faster. Taylor giggles, counting down slowly.
"Onnnnne. Twooooooo.." Taylor fake-lunges again and yells,
"Five!" Sadie holds her ground, staring intently at her person. Taylor nods.
"Nice, nice......... THREE!" Sadie charges at Taylor but as soon as she gets a couple feet away she pivots and runs the opposite direction, running right for Clifford and Olivia kicking up dirt and sand as she goes. Sadie runs right between them, nearly knocking into Clifford as she tears around Olivia and runs back towards the water but still avoiding going near Taylor.

Declan could hear Finley's footsteps behind him and he mentally groaned, thinking to himself,
'Why can't girls just listen?!' He shook his head and sighed heavily, pulling out his phone to use as a light. It didn't help much, but it was better than trying to wander about the mine in the dark. Declan grit his teeth firmly, every muscle in his body felt like it was on fire. If he wasn't paying attention to his grip, he could have smashed his phone right in his hand with how hard bad it was hurting him right now. He stopped long enough to reach back in the dark to find Finley's hand, grasping it as he continued to walk further into the mine with his phone stretched out in front of them.
"Can't take you anywhere," he said in a light tone. Part of him really wished she'd stayed outside, but the other half was glad she was so damn stubborn and didn't listen to him.
What if something happened to him? He wasn't too sure what
would happen. He hadn't been exposed to silver like this and wasn't aware just what kind of effects might take place.
