Everything you write should be like someone reading your things. It should be terrifying and incredibly embarrassing.

"So you ain't never fought a day in yo life?" After a bit of a pause, he continued. Taylor shook her head before listening with a raised eyebrow. "Okay, so what if shit goes down, and I end up in a fight. You ain't jumpin' to my defense? No back-to-back?"

Taylor rolled her eyes and pointed back with her thumb towards Sadie. "That's what I own a dog for." she laughs and reaches back over her shoulder to give Sadie a few loving pets before turning back to Josh. "No, but seriously, if it came down to it," Taylor looked over at him as if she could look into his eyes, though she knew he had to keep his eyes on the road. "I'd fight for you. With you."

Taylor blushed a little and looked ahead through the windshield, spotting the cars coming their way just before they turn onto a road that led up to the creepy abandoned house almost everyone in town knew about and tended to avoid. A shiver ran down Taylor's entire body at the thought of another murder, her mind immediately thinking of her friends and cousin. She really hoped they had nothing to do with those squad cars. "Already visited one crime scene today, can we just.. not even go there? I'm kinda over the whole Mystery Gang thing, for the day." She had to admit, it was a bit too much for her in all reality.

"We need the facts, Declan. If you were the one that killed Mayor Ryder, we need to know. It's that simple."

That was it. That was the breaking point. Declan kept walking, putting a couple large strides between him and the girls as he let a wolfish snarl rip through his teeth.

"The fact that you could even say that, or even just think that, shows just how fucked this friendship is." Suddenly Declan spun around and marched straight up to Gwen, pointing an index finger at her. "I risked my goddamn life for you today, and this is how you thank me?" Declan shook his head and stepped back, exchanging his index for his middle finger as he turned and walked back away from her. "Fuck you, Westbrook. Thanks for having some fucking faith in me." With teeth grit, he marched his (un)happy ass down the trail, walking with great strides.

"Declan didn't kill the mayor. Whatever happened, it wasn't him that did it. Wolf or not. You should know that already Jenna, but I understand your wariness. This is new to me so...gonna need like 40 cups of coffee to process this without it giving me a headache."

Declan's heart and mind equally calmed after hearin' that. He had done as much research as he could on what he was since the day he found out what it was that he was going to become. He knew they had tempers, he knew they couldn't be controlled for a long period of time after they first became infected. Once he found that out, he took the extra steps and locked himself away. Both him and Taylor did. Together they'd both reinforced the basement beneath Taylor's house, and they changed in chains. Now, a couple years after the whole ordeal, they could control their other form and they had nothing to worry about. What had happened to Taylor wasn't his fault. Taylor even would admit to it, if she was asked. Declan, however, wasn't about to spill her secret just after spilling his own.

"Fine, no hospital, but don't do anything stupid like that again! I'm not losing my new wolf buddy." Declan half smirked, rubbing the back of his neck. "We all want answers to questions, so instead of interrogating on the street, let's head to my original destination of the cafe and talk it out there. Sound good to everyone?"

"Honestly Fin, I think I'll just head home. Really done, right now. Text m-" Shit. "Um, I'll come by and see you later. Alright?" Without waiting for a response, knowing all too well it'd be some type of rebuttle to make him stay, he ran off towards his house. He'd shift into his other form once he was far from the girls. Dec knew he didn't have to worry about them following him. With his speed, he'd lose them quickly and easily.
We argued
on an almost everyday basis..
But I (unintentionally) started them
Because I missed him
Or because he did something
Something stupid, and little
But it was enough to hurt
And with me hurt turns to anger
Always has
I couldn't even tell you why
That's what I grew up seeing
my parents were always hurt
so they were always angry, too
I learned a lot from them
Like how to not talk about things
Or how to isolate myself
Oh, and talk down on myself
But never how to love myself
And because of that
I've never been able
to properly love anyone..
I may have found someone
Just as fucked up as I am
And I love him
More than words can say
But we both know
we're no good for each other
So now I'm sitting here
Bawling my eyes out
Like a wolf
In love with its moon
Howling
Crying out for a love
It will (probably) never touch (again).

"Liv's got good intentions. Probably." Taylor raised an eyebrow at that, looking over at him with a grin. "I mean, if Liv intimidates you, we can always cancel. Wouldn't want to have to break up a fight."

Taylor couldn't help but laugh. Olivia. Intimidate her? 'Pfft. Okay.' "Yeah, I don't uh-" she shook her head and giggled, "I really don't see a fight happening between Liv and I. Aside from Finley, she's my best friend. Plus, I've never been in a fight in my life. I could see Oli kicking my ass if we ever did get in any sort of fight, for whatever reason." Taylor laughed at the thought, but truth of the matter was she wasn't lying. Taylor really didn't have a mean bone in her body. She couldn't ever raise a hand or even simply bare her teeth in someone's direction without instantly feeling bad about it.

"Did you hurt anyone?" Gwen had asked.

That struck a nerve. Coming from the girl he most cared about, besides his girlfriend, that was a straight blow to the heart. How could Jenna think he'd hurt someone? ...intentionally, anyway. He thought about saying something about his first full moon and how he'd turned Taylor that night, too, but instead he unintentionally channeled the hurt that was being masked by anger. He narrowed his eyebrows and grit his teeth hard, looking off into the distance for a moment before turning back to face Jenna. A hint of tears in his eyes.

"I seriously can't believe you just fucking asked that, Westbrook." He hadn't realized it, but he was clenching his fists so firmly they were ghost white, now. He let them go immediately and shook them out, turning and walking away a few feet. With his back turned to the girls, he used his index finger and thumb to wipe away a single tear from each eye, not giving them a chance to roll down his face. He played off the motion by pinching the bridge of his nose, letting out a deep and heavy sigh, trying to recollect himself. It wasn't really doing much. His heart ached still from the pain of such a question. Declan almost took off running but his muscles tensed up once he heard Finley's voice. It was almost enough to calm him back down. He stayed put and listened to her with his back still turned to them.

"So we got paranormal activity incarnate, Jean Grey from X-men, and a Twilight wolf. We're a messed up lot."

Declan couldn't help but smirk at the Jean Grey comment, and mentally facepalm at the Twilight reference. He never read the Twilight Saga, and the first installment of the series was only just coming out in a sneak-peak trailer. It looked pretty lame to Declan, but he was sure one of his few female friends would drag him to go see it with them. Probably Finley. Yeah, for sure. Especially now. She could make all the werewolf jokes/puns she wanted when/if they watched them.

"Well, now that it's out in the open, we can move forward. First, we need to get you treated," she said to Declan, "And no, of course I wouldn't tell anyone, idiot. Regardless of what freaks we are, we are friends and friends don't screw each other over. But we need to be honest from this point onward. Speaking of which, I had visions I want to share. One was a murder that may or may not have happened already and the other involves our lovely officer friend being attacked in someone's house. I'd like to investigate both of those once Declan is better."

Declan turned to face Finley, avoiding looking over at Gwen by any means.

"I don't need to go to the hospital, Fin. I'll be fine, I promise." He walked right on over to Finley and bent down, wrapping his arms around her tightly, burying his face into her shoulder. "Thank you for not freaking out on me, and being understanding. You honestly don't know just how much it means to me," he mumbled into her. He slowly let go of her and gently brushed his hand against hers, looking down on her as he began to walk. "Come on. We need to get out of here," he spoke softly, shoving his burned hands into his pants pockets as he trekked towards town, the way he and Finley had come up to the mine.
I'll post tonight for Declan. Been itchin' to, just was trying to wait for Loki so I could post Taylor, too. Sorry

Taylor had been so lost in thought of last year in the summertime when she'd first come down and how her and her (at the time) new-found friends spent most of their days down at the lake. Nothing around her seemed to really bother her while she was so lost in nostalgia. It had been a long year and a half, but she knew there'd still be time for more memories. Well, assuming they didn't all get murdered, that is. Sadie in the back was smacking her tail up against the backseats when she could see Josh on his way back over but Taylor hadn't even noticed. It wasn't until he'd slid into his seat and shut the door that she finally came to.

"Liv invited us over, you wanna come?"

Taylor turned to watch Liv's car disappear out of the lot before she turned back to address Josh's question. She smiled playfully and teased, "Oh yeah, so we can go over and she can plan our wedding date, right?" Taylor smirked at that, shaking her head to look back into the direction Liv had disappeared. "Yeah, I'd be down to go. I just.." Normally Taylor wasn't one to speak her mind, but it seemed to come a bit too easily with Josh. "I hope she lays off the jokes. Kinda gets old after a while." Taylor offered Josh a small, shy smile.

After a few moments of silence, Taylor went on, "Question is, do you want to go over to Oli's house." At that, she teasingly nudged his arm with hers, looking over at him with a smirk.

"Declan. The burns. Explain,"

This wasn't happening.

Declan grit his teeth and dug his fingers into the gravel, closing his eyes tightly. Partially in pain as well as in..fear? Taking a moment, he lets out a deep sigh and slowly gets up, dusting himself off. He looked at the girls and was about to begin explaining when Finley blurted out her secret.

"I can see the future!"

Declan raised an eyebrow at that. You gotta be kidding me, right? He stood there, slowly crossing his arms with a neutral expression on his face. She continued to go on about how exactly these visions worked. Quite honestly, it seemed far-fetched to Declan, but for her to go into such detail and, well... he was a werewolf. How crazy could a future seer be? While still facing Finley, he glanced at Jenna out of the corner of his eyes, pressing his lips into a firm, thin line. What could you possibly be hiding, Jenna? So many things ran through his mind. Even werewolf like himself, but of course it was quickly dismissed when the thought of her being unaffected by the mine. He narrowed his eyebrows as he continued to think, having been lost in thought half the time Finley was explaining herself. Not intentionally, of course. Normally he'd give both the girls his undivided attention, but right now he was a bit lost. Suddenly he was brought back when his attention was most needed.

"So now that I spilled, what the fuck is going on with your hands? And why the fuck were we put in this fricken' goose chase to find you?"

This time Declan looked at Jenna before looking back at Finley. He'd almost all but forgotten that Jenna had been dodging them and their questions of her true whereabouts. It wasn't a major concern of his anymore. The fact was, it was too easy to forgive his friends. His face was bright red right now. Not because he was embarrassed, but because what he was about to say was something he never thought he'd tell anyone. Especially the girls. Knowing this, he felt, would be more of a burden than not knowing. He hoped the girls wouldn't freak out. He really hoped that they wouldn't laugh, either. This was probably the most serious moment in the last 19 years he'd been alive. And most likely would be the most serious one in life ever.

With a long inhale, Declan just... let it out.

"Werewolf. I'm.. a werewolf."

He slowly laced his fingers behind his neck and turned around, pacing away a few steps before turning back, his eyes closed and teeth grit tightly. If the tone of his voice wasn't reassuring enough of how serious he was, the look on his face should have been, but he decided to sweeten the deal.

"If you don't believe me, I can-" Declan swallowed hard and muttered through his teeth, "I can show you." He let out his breath heavily, opening his eyes to exchange looks with his friends. His eyes soft and vulnerable, he continued, "I never told you guys because, well why would you need to know? I mean, we tell each other everything for the most part but that... that's not meant to be something that people actually believe in, let alone live out as a reality. It's a curse! And anyone who has to carry around the burden of knowing it is as much at risk as the infected. Me, in this case." He dropped his hands hard, letting them clap against his sides as he slipped them into his athletic pants. Declan bit down on his lower lip, a very uncommon thing to see Declan do. It made him look like a small child waiting for their parents to yell at them knowing they'd done something wrong to deserve punishment.

In a much softer tone, Declan spoke up again, "Just please... don't tell anyone." his shoulders slumped in defeat, unable to take back what had already been said and already having waded too far into the knee-deep shithole he'd gotten himself in, he was done trying to lie.
