About Me
- I am female, 26, and I've been roleplaying for over ten years now.
- I'm a friendly sort and like to have conversations and form friendships with my partners.
- I am located in the US (CST). My availability during the week lies between the hours of 2pm -9pm, and weekends are wide open baring social commitments or out of town travel. That said, I will usually work on replies in the early evenings as my schedule allows. As mentioned above, I sometimes travel out of town once or twice a month but I will try to give advance notice if there will be a delay on a return post.

ROLEPLAY PREFERENCES

- I prefer partners to be over 18 due to the tendency of my writing containing mature content (violence, drug references, sexual situations).
- I've got many years of this hobby under my belt so I am particular about my partner being literate and able to keep pace with me in terms of post quality. I like colorful writing, but please don't spend an entire paragraph describing to me the exact hue and all comparable aspects of your character's eyes.
- I usually attempt to reply within the same week of receiving a post, but sometimes I can get backed up. I will do my best to keep you up to date on when to expect a response. If there is some reason you cannot respond in a certain time frame please bring it to my attention. This also applies if you are going to be leaving for an extended period or lose interest in the roleplay. I will show the same consideration to you. If you haven't heard from me directly then check my status.
- PLEASE DO NOT BADGER ME FOR A POST! Gentle reminders are fine (i.e. "hey, just checking in, hope everything is going well"), but don't assume that I've lost interest if my reply is taking awhile. Sometimes I have to simmer on a response, other times I am having muse-killing bouts of depression. Please bear this in mind. I'll reiterate, if you haven't heard from me directly then check my status, if my status doesn't answer your question then feel free to toss me a polite nudge via PM.
- I consider roleplay a collaborative writing process and fully encourage and anticipate active discussion between myself and my partner when it comes to plot details and story direction. I tried to leave plenty of wiggle room in the plots listed below for potential partners to develop their own ideas for the story. I am always willing to discuss/plot/chat via PMs or off-site messengers.
- Include your favorite color in your message when you PM me to indicate you read all details herein, THEN mention which plot(s) struck your fancy. IF YOU DON'T DO THIS THEN I WILL MOST LIKELY IGNORE YOUR MESSAGE.
- I use photographs for character reference, no illustrations or anime (I will make an exception for realistic fantasy illustrations in high-fantasy story settings). Character sheets are not necessary unless stated otherwise, but sample posts may be requested.
- I don't mind writing sexual situations as fade-to-black if my partner has a preference for it, though my personal preference is not to censor the story. That said scenes with sexual content will be discussed beforehand to establish an agreeable comfort level.

These stories have potential for: Graphic content (sexual & violent, sometimes together), a possibility for warped/bittersweet/dark romance (not a big fan of fluff, give me the gritty), adult language, dark themes, intrigue, mid/long-term storytelling, in-depth collaboration & world-building, political and social elements, various supporting characters (preferably with both players). All content will take place in PM format. Most of these are imagined with a modern setting in mind, though may be modified upon further discussion.

What I would like from my partner: Someone comfortable with playing a dominate male character (as their primary) against a dominate female character. Character attributes and personality are at player's discretion. Being comfortable playing multiple side characters and contributing to the direction of the plot is also necessary. An ability to assist in developing the details of these very particular plots. Most of these are intended to be long-term stories, so patience and commitment are a huge plus.

CONCEPTS

Vampires/Vampire-like Creatures:

• The Lord of Blackthorne Manor - For years Evelyn Price had entertained potential suitors, but had never taken the prospect very seriously when her father was not terribly insistent that she marry. After the passing of Evelyn's mother, and with no other family to speak of, she and her father took solace in each others' company and formed a close bond. Matters changed, however, when her father's health suffered a sudden and rapid decline. With his impending death, Evelyn was poised to inherit his wealth and estate. He insisted that she marry immediately, so that he would know she was well taken care of after his passing. Though Evelyn was reluctant, she was taken by surprise when her father announced he had already accepted a marriage proposal from a Lord Donovan Blackthorne. She had never met the man, but she had heard rumors that he was both incredibly charming as well as undeniably peculiar. Still, despite her reservations she could not bear to deny her father his dying wish.
  
  Some days later her father passed, and mere weeks after his burial she was escorted by the executor of her father's will to witness her marriage to Lord Blackthorne. Having never met the man Evelyn had to trust that her father agreed to the union with every faith that Lord Blackthorne would be a good husband for her.
  
  Initially, Evelyn finds her new husband to be more ordinary than her imagination conceived him to be, save for only a few small instances of strangeness. He is polite and seems kind, if a bit reserved. Over time she even develops a fondness for him, which he reciprocates, but she is astute enough to realize he keeps her at a safe distance and can't understand why. As time ticks on, she finds it hard to ignore certain things. He seems to be away or locked in the basement all hours of the day and awake late into the night, oftentimes going out into the city when he believes she is asleep. Despite being newly married, he has refused to share a bedchamber with her and has even expressly forbidden her to enter certain regions of the manor. The serving staff of his estate are sparse, and seemingly mute or entirely uninterested in carrying on conversation with her, even going so far as to outright avoid her when possible. After growing tired of too many unanswered questions and being far too inquisitive for her own good, Evelyn takes advantage of her husband's absence one night and attempts to investigate.
  
  (Themes: Arranged marriage, intrigue, period-based (1877/Victorian Era), macabre/horror/gothic undertones, supernatural, dark romance, drama.
  This is going to be pretty heavily influenced by Crimson Peak and Penny Dreadful, if it wasn't obvious. I'm looking for someone to play Lord Blackthorne. I have several ideas in mind for this so lots of discussion via PMs will be necessary.)

• It's Hard Out Here For A Vamp - When a one-night-stand takes an unexpected turn Detective Miranda Halloway soon wakes up to find herself on the wrong side of dead. She can only vaguely recall flirting with a man whose face she can't remember and then waking up alone in a deserted warehouse with no memory of how she'd gotten there. That was a month ago, and Miranda's survival can only be chalked up to dumb luck in meeting another vampire who happens to work in the morgue. Unfortunately, there's still the mystery of who (technically) murdered her and left her to die. While Det. Halloway is going about blindly adjusting to life as one of the undead, she's also using her detective experience and resources to hunt down her so-called killer. Meanwhile, there's unrest surging in the underground society of the city's vampire population and, unbeknownst to Miranda, she's about to become a walking target.
  
  (YC can be the morgue doctor MC befriends, or the vampire who changed her, or something else, just hit me up and we'll discuss it! I have some plot details in mind for this as well, which I'll divulge in PM.)

• Blood, Lust, and Other Things - Vampires are facing extinction. Alayne Ravenwood is the last female of the Living Purebloods, and with this recent change in tides there now rests a great responsibility upon her shoulders. According to tradition she will be designated a mate with whom she is expected to breed the next generation and continue the legacy of a proud race of nocturnal creatures. There's only one problem: the male they've chosen as her mate is a former lover, and things did not end well when last they parted.

• Family Sucks - Antoinette Carlisle is a member of the extended and prestigious Dahanovar Clan, a "family" of vampires who've dominated the New York region for as long as anyone can remember. She's made a name for herself as a successful writer and director for the stage, and has kept a careful distance between herself and the shadowy influence of her clan. However, when she crosses paths with a member of a rival clan who is wanted for the alleged murder of a member of her so-called family, she finds herself getting caught up in the whirlwind feud.

• Outbreak 2037 - In the not-too-distant future the majority of the world's population has been infected with vampirism. In the span of only twenty-two years the human population has been reduced to a mere fraction of what it once was. Humans have been hunted to near extinction, with the few remaining vestiges forced into hiding underground or into the rural countryside to avoid being captured for blood farming. In the cities the vampires have complete control and an established nocturnal infrastructure, and while all seems orderly on the surface there is still a lingering shadow of impending devastation as the food supply is steadily dwindling. Blood farming is only barely meeting the demand of the public and scientists have begun the process of breeding a new generation of humans to continue providing sustenance to an insatiable population. Human blood is becoming more of a luxury, and those who can't feed soon turn feral and prove dangerous to others around them.
  
  There is a small percentage of the vampire population whose brain chemistry does not mesh well with the venomous virus during the turn, and these creatures become insane and immediately feral. They're very dangerous and do not discriminate when it comes to blood, as they will attack other vampires without provocation. Their numbers are small, as they are often killed as soon as they're discovered, but they've taken to nesting in the sewers and outskirts of cities.
  
  Humans, on the other hand, are forced into hiding and live out their days in near poverty. Only the strong and sharp-minded seem to thrive in this age. There are only a few who manage to stay hidden within the cities, but most of the remaining human population have created small, secret settlements in the countryside.
  The settlement of Silver City, Nevada got lucky when they found the forgotten mine town hidden deep in the desert. At twenty-four, Paige Abbot has spent almost the entirety of her life in this world and has no memory of what it was like before the outbreak. Her father acts as the spearhead for the small clan, and Paige has assisted him in establishing a way of surviving. She regularly aids in scavenging expeditions and helps to educate the young children of the settlement with what books she manages to pilfer from raids of nearby towns.
  
  When a stranger suddenly comes across their small haven with a proposition he's instantly met with hostility and fear. Paige soon learns that he brings news of a budding revolution, and came in search of willing recruits to join the Human Allegiance as they search for a rumored cure for vampirism. She and the rest of the clan question this man's legitimacy, until their town is raided by a small coalition of vampire soldiers attempting to hunt down more humans for farming. With the stranger's assistance Paige and a select few others are able to kill the handful of vampire soldiers and take one of them captive for questioning.
  
  Feeling a sense of debt to this stranger for his assistance Paige now entertains the idea of joining his cause.
  
  (MC is Paige, YC can be either the human recruiter or the captured vampire soldier. This one is quite similar to the films Daybreakers, I Am Legend, and the tv show The Strain - vampirism is a virus that overtakes the world, humanity needs to find the cure or risk extinction.)

Witches/Magic Users:

• Play With Fire - Two families are descendant of ancient, powerful magic, locked in a feud against one another for centuries - the spark of which is still debated and bickered over. With so many years of contempt between the Caldwell and Fairchild clans, and countless deaths on both sides, it seemed both bloodlines would be destined to wipe one another from existence. This impending extinction looms just overhead, when each family only has a handful of its brood remaining in present day.
  
  So it would seem that two descendants of these families would share a doomed fate when the patriarch of the Caldwell line and the second eldest witch of the Fairchild family each take a mutual interest in one another. Though each were raised on tales of sins committed by their respective families such stories would prove fruitless in dissuading their strange infatuation with each other. Do either of them dare to pursue such a dangerous affair, or will their sense of duty to their families be reason enough to keep a safe distance?
  
  (Looking for someone to play the patriarch of the rival family. They'd begin as purely physical associates, both defiant types. We could start it off with them already established or with a completely blank slate, whichever you prefer.)

Werewolves:

• Howl - Vanessa Hawthorne is the daughter of the Seattle pack's former beloved Alpha, and the descendant of a long line of pack leaders. For as long as any can remember her ancestors have either assumed the role of Alpha or mate to the Alpha. Her mother and father, however, were murdered by Hunters four years ago when she was seventeen. Due to Vanessa's age at the time the death of her parents left leadership of the pack to fall on the shoulders of the chosen Beta, who would then oversee the pack and temporarily take over the role of Alpha unless challenged.
  
  Following the traditions of their kind meant that Vanessa would have a choice to make in her twenty-first year; become mate to the presiding Alpha, or challenge to take over leadership herself. But Vanessa was headstrong and wild, never one to cater to old traditions. That was the assumption anyways, when she disappeared from the secluded compound the pack resided in just after the memorial ceremony for her parents.
  
  What the pack doesn't know is that she harbors a dark secret, and her guilt was the driving force behind her running away. Not daring to wander too far from her pack, however, she allowed herself to be lost in a place a wolf had no desire to be - the city. She makes a meager living for herself in Seattle proper, hours away from the pack compound she grew up in that was nestled in the shadow of the Olympic Mountains just west of the city.
  
  Unbeknownst to Vanessa, however, the pack has fallen under the supervision of a new Alpha and he's tracked her down only days before her 21st birthday to demand her return.
  
  (I'm looking for someone to play the Alpha male, possibly with a few supporting characters since I'll have at least one of my own. This one is up to some plotting discussion as well!)

Demons:

• Spellbound - A demon has been trapped in a plane of nothingness for far longer than he can recall. He is restless, seething with anger, and hungry for revenge against those who banished him to his prison. It comes as a curious surprise then, when he suddenly hears the faint echo of a voice in the silence - an incantation severing the ties that bind him there one by one and inviting him to step forward. Eager to be free of his prison he willingly takes the unexpected invitation. When he appears on the mortal plane, however, he is taken by surprise to find a woman staring up at him wide-eyed and frozen in terror.
  ---
  When Elis, a young New Orleans bartender and aspiring actress, is bequeathed a dusty old book from a deceased uncle she never knew she's more than a little bit confused. But after a night out with her roommate, Karri, they come back to their apartment and drunkenly decide to try and "decode" the old tome written in a strange, unidentifiable language. Strangely, however, Elis feels that the language is one she's seen before. When she says as much to her roommate, Karri doesn't believe her and challenges her to read it out loud. Never one to back down, Elis complies.
  
  She soon quickly comes to regret this decision, when what appears to be a completely nude and foreboding man is suddenly towering over her, with eyes that glimmered like burning coals staring down at her.
  
  (Looking for someone to play the mischievous and manipulative demon that winds up accidentally bound to MC. Got some ideas in mind for this, PM for further discussion.)

• Observe The Dark Realm - "We watch. And we are always there." is the long-lived and resounding motto of an organization known only as The Order of the Talamasca. The Talamasca serves as an organization for the investigation and observation of the paranormal, whose purpose is to keep the existence of the paranormal a secret. Their members are many and span all across the world. Associates of the Talamasca are predominantly humans, though occasional exceptions are made for particularly gifted psychic individuals whose talents are useful to the Order. However, other paranormal creatures like vampires, witches, werewolves, etc. are expressly forbidden from membership in the Order. For centuries agents of the Talamasca have catalogued all evidence, artifacts, and documentation of the existence of the supernatural, keeping such information locked away in vaults below the primary motherhouse in London.
  
  Hannah Leigh Estherwood is a Talamascan Field Agent, tasked with responding to reports of bizarre occurrences and crimes with inexplicable trademarks. She's also a psychic, able to infer the history and future of an object or person through physical touch, an ability that is slowly taking its toll on her. Her sense of duty to her father's legacy as an agent, however, compels her to continue aiding the Talmasca with her invaluable ability. So it's a curious thing when she's given the assignment of seeking out a particular artifact - a scroll to summon a demon spirit, whose sole purpose is to grant a single wish. Hannah sees an opportunity to use the artifact to remedy ailments brought on by her taxing ability. The only trouble is....the scroll's last known location was in the possession of a vampire.
  
  
  (Yes, this is based on the Talamasca from Anne Rice's novels but I do NOT want to include any of her characters from the books in this story, so you do not have to be familiar with the books at all, I'm only using the premise of a secret society of paranormal investigators. This is still a VERY underdeveloped idea so lots of plot discussion would be necessary.)

Humans:

• Midnight Serenade [London 1875] - Seraphina Whick is a young woman of exceptional beauty but no title or family to speak of. She makes a way for herself by working as a stagehand in the small but fairly popular Renaissance Theatre, an occupation that grants her lodgings within the theatre and a meager income. Though she is personable with the other stagehands she works and lives alongside she, like most who operate behind the scenes of the stage, goes mostly unnoticed.
  
  From the shadows each night she steals wistful glances after those fortunate enough to dance in the ballet, harboring a secret longing for the spotlight though she knows it is unreachable for herself. In the early light of morning, when the theatre is still dark and quiet and all the other staff are yet to wake, Sera steals time for herself on the grand stage. The slippers she uses are old and worn, a size too big, and patched by hand to salvaged as best as possible after one of the chorus dancers threw them out. Though she saves what she can spare of her earnings so that she can one day purchase a proper pair, she endeavors to make due with the option available to her so that she might do the only thing that brings her unfiltered bliss.
  
  Dance.
  
  Though she isn't fortunate enough to have a formal education in ballet she exhibits a natural talent and fluidity. Surprisingly, she has a remarkable ability to study the movements of the stage performers during rehearsals and replicate it, with practice, in her own self-teachings. Though she's far too shy and embarrassed of her inexperience to ever audition, she still finds solace and joy in simply losing herself to a world of fancy where she dances across the stage for an engrossed audience.
  
  However, she doesn't realize that she does indeed have an unexpected audience - a man who has happened upon her secret practice and witnessed her raw passion for the art. A spectacle she never intended anyone to see. Little does she know, this man held the very power to make her impossible dreams come true.
  
  (YC would be the man who stumbles upon MC and sees her dancing, and he could be either the dance instructor for the theatre who sees her natural talent and volunteers to mentor her or the owner/wealthy benefactor of the theatre who takes an interest in her. This is pretty heavy on the romance factor, but the main premise is he will have the ability to change MC future.)

Fandoms:

• A Match Made In Gotham (DC Comics/Batman/Gotham) - The tabloids are all abuzz, both The Gotham Gazette and The Daily Planet are reporting: Lex Luthor is engaged (again)! And to none other than Talia Head, CEO of Lazarus Cosmetics. Now that's a power couple!
  
  Ra's al Ghul is dead and his daughter, Talia al Ghul, has taken control of the League of Assassins. On the surface she builds a persona in the public eye as a businesswoman and philanthropist, founding Lazarus Cosmetics - renown for the brand's miraculous anti-aging cream. But beneath the guise of Talia Head, the Daughter of the Demon is renting her assassins for hire to the highest bidder and striking deals with black market scientists to create an immortality serum derived from the Lazarus Pits previously used by her father. Enter Lex Luthor, who has a vested interest in Talia's objective when she proposes it to him. And what better way to disguise their newfound partnership than to make a public spectacle of an impending marriage?
  
  Naturally, this alleged engagement is nothing shy of disturbing for Bruce Wayne/Batman for numerous reasons. But would prying further into the foundations of Talia's supposed relationship with another man be an act of seeking justice or merely an act of jealousy?
  
  (Looking for someone to play Bruce/Batman. This isn't going to stick to past continuity in the strictest sense, and multiple DC characters can be put into play but I would prefer we keep the setting to Gotham and Metrolpolis. Also, this is completely forgoing anything New 52 and the butchered rehash of Talia/Bruce's relationship in the Batman and Son arch. I'm not yet sure if I even want to include Damien in this story, but I could be coerced. This plot could also be argued as a follow-up to Death and the Maidens.)

• Karen Marie Moning's Highlander and Fever series - No plot ideas for this yet, just putting out a beacon on the rare chance I find another fan of this author. I'm looking for someone familiar with Moning's universe and her darker, more sexualized version of the Fae, use of Celtic lore and magic, and some minor time travel.

• Christine Feehan's Carpathian series - Dr. Maxine Cameron has always had trouble sleeping, her dreams often plagued by visions of nightmarish creatures and the foreboding sensation that they were coming for her. It began as what doctors described as night terrors in her childhood but she never outgrew them. Since her night terrors refused to subside she was given a regular prescription for dream suppressants, which was the only way she was able to get any sleep. Her childhood troubles prompted her to develop an interest in sleep science as an adult, eventually earning her doctorate with a specialty in treatments and research for sleep disorders.
  
  Much to her dismay, however, her medication seems to no longer have the desired effects. Over the last month her dreams are returning, each stronger than the last. The nightmares of her youth haven't yet reared their ugly head though, as her dreams seem only to be consisting of a singular scene that features a man she doesn't know being brought into the ER where she works.
  
  Unbeknownst to Maxine, her dreams were actually premonitions and the creatures of her nightmares were not boogeymen of fancy but a real and violent threat. She is among the rare number of human women born with psychic abilities, making her highly sought after by Carpathians who seek to save their proud and ancient race, which teeters on the edge of extinction. Because of this she is also a target of vampires who are vile and corrupt with darkness, whose only desire is to strike down Carpathians to increase their own numbers. All vampires were once male Carpathians, but they were driven slowly into madness when they were unable to find a lifemate - a Light to keep their Darkness at bay.
  
  It is YC's sworn duty to hunt and kill vampires, a task that is no easy feat as many of those he now hunts were once friends and brothers. He is a warrior and precariously perched on the verge of Darkness, dreading that he might soon turn into the very creatures he hunts. Color has faded from his vision, emotions are nonexistent, and the only thing he feels is the thrill of hunting and the hunger to feed. It takes every fiber of his being to avoid mixing the two and succumbing completely to the Darkness that dwells in him.
  
  That is, until he's baited into an unexpected trap by a pack of vampires and outnumbered. They overpower and wound him severely with the intention of provoking his hunger in order to heal himself. He is barely holding on to his consciousness and tenuous grip on control when humans come across his unmoving body and quickly call for medical assistance.
  
  When Maxine responds to an incoming wounded patient in the ER she's startled to realize she recognizes the man strapped to the gurney. He's the very same man she's seen in her recently recurring dreams.

An ability to assist in developing the details of this very particular race of creatures. This RP will require a brief character sheet, of which I will supply examples upon inquiry.

This is a modern setting with the potential for a few historical flashback scenes. I will be playing Alayne (a Pureblood vampire) in this scenario, with my partner playing the role of another Pureblood vampire (male).

CONCEPT - WARNING! Lengthy (and a little convoluted) synopsis ahead!

Vampires are facing extinction.

A race of creatures that were once considered the closest thing to immortal now perch precariously on the edge of oblivion. While their numbers are many they can easily be snuffed out, for their lives hinge on the continued existence of the last remaining Purebloods. The majority of vampires in modern times are products of being Turned, infected with blood that contains the vampire strain. However, reverence and obedience is shown only to those not bitten, but born. These few are known as Purebloods, a withering lineage of those who have inherited the vampire gene from their ancestors.

This race has existed alongside humans for centuries, adapting as their numbers grew and, eventually, developing a carefully governed network of Covens the world over. All elements of their world operate as a shadow society to that of humans. The Primary Covens are presided over by the eldest of the race, many of whom are Purebloods.

There are now only thirteen remaining Living Purebloods in the world, and only two vampires exist that originated from the First Generation (one Living, one Awakened).

Alayne Ravenwood is among those treasured vestiges of Living Pureblood vampires and, since her mother's very recent and unexpected First Death, the last remaining hope for the continued existence of her kind. The Council has been summoned to convene and determine the best course of action for survival. Alayne, however, is already fully aware of what the outcome will be. Like her mother before her, she will be matched with whichever Pureblood male the Council deems the most virile. However, despite her over-two-hundred-year existence she is still very much a modern female, with little regard for belonging to any male and even less so for being used as a broodmare. Her displeasure at the impending matchmaking is only then aggravated when she comes to discover that the most highly regarded contender for her mate is the very male she'd once shared a brief affair with in her youth. An affair which did not end well. Will Alayne's independent nature prove destructive to the continued existence of her people, or will it be an inability to reconcile differences between former lovers?

Additionally, outside of Alayne's personal struggle, Elders of the Council have been deliberating the possibility of creating offspring with humans, and experiments of a less than ethical nature have recently been implemented to test theories on the matter. If these tests prove fruitful will the race be saved or will the delicate social structure be compromised and crumble into chaos?

NOTES:
Purebloods: The closest thing to vampire royalty. Purebloods differ from Turned in that they are not dead, or don't start out as such. They are born of a rare lineage, once human, that bonded with the "vampire" virus instead of being consumed by it. This caused a mutation that lead to enhanced senses, increased metabolism, faster regenerative properties, and an extended lifespan, among many more new abilities. However, there was the significant drawback of a severe iron deficiency (need/thirst for blood) and heightened photo-sensitivity (allergic to the sun). They are extremely long-lived and are gifted with advantages which those Turned do not inherit, with select few of the older generations believing they are an evolutionary form of humans. They have a greater tolerance for sunlight (though preventative measures like full coverage clothing, barrier creams, and eyewear must be utilized) and are considerably stronger than Turned. The most notable difference, however, is that Purebloods can breed like humans. Unfortunately their infant mortality rate is very high, especially for females. Another advantage that they display is the ability to die and reanimate (see Awakened*). Pureblood vampires reach maturity at twenty-five and experience significantly slower - if not completely stagnant - aging at that time. Living Purebloods are susceptible to mortal injury, though it is usually only fatal if it results in extensive blood loss without the opportunity to feed for a prolonged period. Long-term starvation and wounds that damage the heart can also be fatal.

Awakened: Purebloods who have died their "First Death". They are no longer able to reproduce sexually. They also have a greater need for rest and an increased Thirst, but otherwise act as themselves. Just less...alive. Reanimation is extremely arduous and painful and is impossible for Purebloods and Turned alike if the connection between brain and heart is severed. Awakened retain themselves after their death but sacrifice their greater tolerance for sunlight.

Turned: Vampires created by virus transference in a human. They cannot sexually reproduce as Purebloods can, but can produce more vampires in infecting other humans. The virus is deadly and immensely painful, killing and reanimating its host. Humans that are physically weak or injured at the time of infection usually do not survive the transition. Turnings are not committed lightly and are maintained with strict rules and ceremony. Turned are considerably weaker than Purebloods in physical strength & stamina and cannot tolerate direct sunlight but still share the abilities of increased speed, senses, stealth, and hypnosis. Most Turned are no older than a century, and none of them are older than the youngest Pureblood. One advantage the Turned and Awakened have is that they are incredibly resilient to mortal injury, even more so than Purebloods.

***There are a lot more traits/weaknesses/strengths that I'm going to omit for now in favor of brevity but they can be discussed more via PM.***

Elders: Oldest of the Pureblood vampires, and a title used for both Living and Awakened Purebloods. Due to Turned vampires still being so young in comparison to Purebloods none currently hold an Elder title. Elder is a title that is used formally in addressing one (ex: an Elder by the name John Doe would be addressed as Elder Doe, or Elder John Doe). The oldest known vampire is still living, he is known as High Elder Dominic Santori.

Council: Comprised primarily of Elder Purebloods (both Living and Awakened), the last remaining Living Purebloods that are not Elders, with a select few Turned, all of which are Coven Masters of their respective districts.

First Generation (History): Just as it sounds, the first to survive the infection and mutation. A plague that swept across part of the civilized world in the 14th century resulted in only a fraction of the infected population surviving. It would then become clear that these survivors did not completely rid themselves of the infection, but instead became its host. As more and more of them realized they were part of a larger collective of infected who exhibited similar changes - chief among them a taste for blood - it became harder to conceal themselves from the fearful and superstitious world around them. Those who lacked the ability to temper their Thirst soon created a significant rising death toll that drew attention and created discord. The situation was dire in these times, as those who refused to feed either wasted away or lost control and attacked humans like starving animals. When the starving finally did die it was only to realize that the virus was strong and stubborn enough to reanimate them, though now without the warmth of life in their bodies.
As for those who were leaving trails of dead in their wake, it became clear a more permanent solution needed to be put into action. Any who could not maintain control and carelessly jeopardized the lives of other vampires were hunted and killed. This eventually led to upheaval and a silent war waged that resulted in significantly fewer of their kind left standing and bad blood between some of those who did survive. It was agreed that laws for their kind must be established to discourage repeat behavior, and so a Council was formed. As the centuries passed, however, their extended years and disregard for the fear of death gave little pause for some when it came to the murder of their brethren for personal and political gain. Females were almost never targeted, their numbers few and survival of the New Race dependent on the birth of the next generation. Females were also not included among the chairs of Council until the late 19th century, which even then was only allowed due to the tedious infighting which then lead to the permanent deaths of many previous Council members. Arriving into the 20th century their numbers had been greatly reduced, and with new advances in medical science the Council elected to conduct experiments for possible ways to aid procreation and stave off extinction. With this they discovered much more about the mutation in their blood than they had ever known before. The most promising information, however, was that their condition was transmittable to humans. Of course, there were drawbacks as well, as the virus required an especially strong host to survive the transition and killed the human body it inhabited. Oftentimes the regenerative properties did not activate after death, resulting in a rather somber revelation for the first round of experiments. Just the same, success was not far behind as was soon exhibited in the birth of the Nouveau Époque - a new generation of vampire that became known as Turned.

Covens: Vampires operate in a complicated hierarchy and Primary Covens are almost always led by Purebloods. For non-primary Covens the task of Master is usually appointed to the eldest in their ranks. Coven Masters then appoint delegates to aid in governing vampires of their districts (cities). All vampires must be pledged to a Coven (usually the Coven that sired them) and abide by the laws of their brethren. If a vampire refuses to pledge or breaks any vampire laws they may be apprehended, tried, and sentenced according to the severity of their crimes. Vampires can rescind their pledge to one Coven if they choose to relocate and join another. Disputes and feuds between rival Covens is not uncommon, however killing a vampire is a punishable crime. Covens, and vampires in general, have a relatively small population when analyzed on a global scale. As such, Coven numbers typically depend on the size of the district/city they occupy.

Humans: The vast majority are unaware of the existence of vampires. Fraternization is not outlawed but revealing the existence of their world to a human that is not approved for Turning is a death sentence for said human. Humans cannot consume vampire blood without risking a deadly infection. Unprotected sex with a human is also prohibited, as it can cause infection as well. Recent discoveries have lead to the hint of a possibility of being able to breed with human women without the infection immediately killing them, and so experiments have been initiated in secret to isolate necessary components for a successful crossbreeding. (Yes, this does mean that human women are being held captive and experimented upon against their will. This could be sensitive material if we opt to go into detail but it can also be "glossed over" if such subjects are uncomfortable. It's worth noting that methods used would be insemination and not forced intercourse.)

Inclusion of other supernatural beings: Open to discussion.

This story will include: Graphic content (sexual & violent) with a heavy emphasis on seduction (with a possibility for warped romance), adult language, dark themes, religious and mythology references, long-term storytelling, in-depth collaboration & world-building, various supporting characters (preferably with both players). CONCEPT - WARNING! Lengthy synopsis ahead!

The Blackwood lineage is the last of the Ancient Bloodlines to survive to modern times. There once were four primary families of witches that possessed the oldest and most powerful magic - Avalon, Blackwood, Cromwell, and Westgrove - until all but the Blackwood were snuffed out of existence in their attempts to avoid pursuit.

Before the extinction of the majority of the oldest magical bloodlines came to be, an ancient prophecy had warned of the arrival of a "darkened child". According to the prophecy, this child would be the product of a Fallen One (demon) and a daughter of one of the Ancient Bloodlines, and would bring death to all witches and damnation to all Man.

Families Avalon, Cromwell, and Westgrove resorted to extreme measures that ultimately led to their own extinction, methods including magically-induced sterilization of the blood-born females of their lines, and even murder of newborn female children. All of this, in an effort to evade fulfillment of the prophecy. Due to these actions the succession of their bloodlines relied solely on the males to carry on, which greatly diluted the power of their magic and decreased their numbers significantly over time, until the last of them were extinguished even before the dawn of The New World.

The Blackwood, however, sought a different path. They receded into hiding, taking another family name and greatly confining the use of their magics. Natural abilities (those which each witch is born with, though most only excel in one) were bound for both males and females of their lineage until maturation, and ritual ceremonies were reserved only for holy days and performed in secret. This method only had a short-term period of success, however, which was compromised when the last of the other Ancient Bloodlines was wiped from existence. With the Blackwood the last family of the Ancients they would soon discover they had become targets for the demonkin they had sought to elude. This threat proved costly, when in the late 17th century a Blackwood witch by the name of Amelia was seduced and impregnated by a Fallen One, Azazel. Sadly, Amelia sacrificed herself with the unborn child in an attempt to terminate her pregnancy via magical methods.

Realizing they would now be stalked by this demon, both for revenge in thwarting Its plans as well as Its attempts to try again, the remaining family decided to relocate to The New World. Unfortunately, The New World brought with it a new set of problems in the form of witch hunts and trials. The Blackwood family remained under concealment for the majority duration of the trials until a secret faction of extremist humans, calling themselves Hunters of the Right Hand Order, took it upon themselves to investigate and slaughter suspected witches. When Josiah Blackwood stood out against the unjust murders of humans who did not even practice magic he unintentionally drew attention to himself and his family. As members of the Order pried into the past of the family and spied upon them they soon uncovered the truth, as well as old texts referring to the prophecy. When the Blackwood were set upon by the Order they once more had to flee to survive.

For centuries the Blackwood family has been moving, hiding, remaining in secret until either the demon or members of the still-existent Order managed to track them down, only to flee once again. Since no generation of the family has stayed in any one place long enough to take root and the ever-present threat of the Order looms to whittle away at their numbers, they arrived unto the 21st century with only a handful of blood relatives remaining. Currently, last known blood of the Blackwood line is Joel Blackwood, a man well into his fifties and married to a human woman named Beverly. They reside in Toronto, and because Joel has vowed since his younger sister's death to never again use his magic they've been successfully avoiding the eye of the Order for over twenty years. His wife is also barren, and Joel has solemnly come to grips with being the last of his bloodline to ever know the Ancient magic.

Or so he had planned...

Eden Cassidy lived a charmed life, raised by loving parents in a picturesque suburb of Rochester, New York. Her happy life is threatened, however, when she begins exhibiting strange abilities alongside the onset of puberty that only become greater and harder to control into adulthood. Unbeknownst to her, she is the last remaining female of the Blackwood line of witches. She was born to Regina Blackwood, who was murdered by Hunters of the Order after her birth. Her last remaining blood relatives, her Aunt Beverly and Uncle Joel, then secreted her away to an orphanage. In hopes for a better future and greater chance of survival for her, they placed her up for closed adoption, thinking she would not be hunted as a Blackwood if no ties between them could be found.

Eden managed to live a happy, simple life up until the development of her abilities. Though she attempted to hide them from her parents they soon discovered what she could do. It was then, to her surprise, they didn't shun her but rather confessed to her that she was adopted. With their support she managed to establish some wavering control over her powers that seemed to grow harder to contain with each passing year. Finally, she completes her college degree program and with the assistance of a tech-savvy friend and classmate manages to finally track down her last remaining blood relatives in Toronto. On a journey for the first time completely by herself in a completely unfamiliar city she sets out to find out who she truly is and, hopefully, how to establish control over the increasingly haywire behavior of her abilities. NOTES:
Hunters of the Right Hand Order: Religious "knights" who hunt and kill witches. They are a worldwide organization, not sanctioned by any church, fanatical and ruthless. Though they target all witches they have a distinct fixation on the Blackwood bloodline, always searching for them to snuff them out and avoid the prophecy that heralds the damnation of humanity.

Azazel/Asmodeus: I'm combining these two demons from lore to better fit the story (mainly because Asmodeus has the hierarchical rank I had in mind, but Azazel better fits the bill for fathering a "Doomsday child"). Asmodeus is described as "a Prince of the Seraphim, burning with desire to tempt men into wantonness" a.k.a. Lust, while Azazel is credited with "teaching women the art of deception and witchcraft", is said to have taught heavenly secrets to Man that lead humankind to sin, as well as being leader of the Watchers (a lower caste of fallen angels). Azazel can either be appointed to this task of seducing a Blackwood witch by those he answers to or can choose to fulfill this task to garner favor/power. References Here, Here, and Here

Magic: Rituals are formal events that often require multiple witches to undertake, especially for large-scale tasks (like casting protection over a large object like a plot of land or a house). Though Covens are not uncommon they are unsafe with the likes of the Order traipsing about. Each witch is born with a specific ability (some develop mental powers, others have abilities linked to the elements). Witches of Ancient bloodlines, which no one thinks exist anymore, are masters of multiple abilities born from ancestral magic. Witches are born from a bloodline with magic in their blood, a human cannot practice magic they are not born with.

The Aether: The void between the Underside and the Earthly planes. Demons often use it as a pathway to traverse across planes, as well as across long distances within the same plane (example: from Toronto to Italy). It is accessible to some witches, on a very limited scale, and usually only those with astral abilities.

A WITCHY craving [High Cas/Adv] - {F4M}

I don't really care for writing these things but I've got a very persistent urge to write this story. So, to start, here are some things about me and how I roleplay:

About Me

- I am female, 24, and I've been roleplaying for over ten years now.

- I favor MxF pairings. It's very rare for me to be up to writing FxF, unless there's a sturdy plot in mind. That said, I tend toward independent/strong type females for my characters and prefer strong males from my partner as well, but it is not a requirement.

Now, on to the aforementioned very specific craving:

I'm looking for a partner to play a sorcerer/warlock type, male, to my human witch, female.

The plot would be somewhat inspired by a Romeo & Juliet, star-crossed lover scheme. These families are descendants of ancient, powerful magic, locked in a feud against one another for centuries - the spark of which is still debated and bickered over. Unlike Romeo & Juliet this will not start out as a fluffy, love-at-first-sight story, nor will it be smut-heavy - and I don't really have any intention of it going that way but we'll just have to see how it pans out through our collaboration. This can be set in either modern time or a more medieval/fantasy setting. They'd begin as purely physical associates, both defiant types. We could start it off with them already established or with a completely blank slate, whichever you prefer.

Possible sub-plot points and conflicts:

* One element of conflict would be the development of reluctant feelings toward one another, knowing that they could never be together because of their families and also both probably harboring bitterness/distrust toward one another due to being raised on horrible stories of each others' families and deeds they'd done. I imagine a fairly consistent tension between them and probably some frequent jabbing/bickering.

* Another source of conflict would, of course, be their families as they would have to keep their fraternization a secret and there's the ever-looming chance they could be discovered and one or both of them killed.

* Additionally, if we went with medieval fantasy it could go one of two ways: the more historically medieval route which would necessitate even more secrecy for both families as a whole to avoid persecution for witchcraft, which would mean they'd enact their warfare against one another in a more subtle means but would conduct themselves otherwise civilly toward one another in public OR leaning more heavily toward the fantasy aspect where magic is more widely known/accepted and the feud between the families is less secret, which would work out to both families being descendant from very well-known bloodlines and would make sneaking around for our characters pretty tricky to avoid gossipers spoiling their secret.

* Any additional plots ideas you have I'm happy to listen to!

I also had a vague idea that they would be unknowingly re-living the very history that sparked the centuries-old war between their kin, in that it all began when ancestors of their bloodlines were involved before one betrayed the other. My character would have been raised on stories of how your character's ancestor betrayed and killed her ancestor, thus provoking her family to respond by killing his ancestor in return and igniting the war, and yours would be brought up to believe the reverse, hence their distrust of one another. Though the truth would be one or both of them had been killed and neither family knows this, or that there could be another enemy out there. So that could be a fun little mystery to decode as the story goes.
