Well I guess if you go on the route that he's fictional mythical?Fix'd. :) He's kinda like Heracles, in that he's part of people's religious beliefs.

Also, figure I should put a claim on Saber before I'm beaten to it, considering how short on ideas I am at the moment.Ah, I should've mentioned... I'm playing someone in the Saber class. Not Arturia, but a future version of someone similar (*points at sig*). Sorry about that.
Also, in regards to the Madoka lore, are the magi at risk of turning into witches again, considering what happened at the end of Rebellion?Considering that all AkumaHomura ever did was (presumably) turn all magical girls into normal humans, I don't think that's a concern... not to mention the fact that the Kyubey in this story will take certain 'actions' of his own to manipulate the magical girls to become literal slaves to the Holy Grail War, as they are forced to fight for some makeshift wish-machine their species pull out of their ass for all eternity, even if they die and return to their spirit forms. You know how Saber retained her memories throughout the HGWs she appeared in? It's something like that, except that Kyubey has ensured that there will be no salvation for any of them, even if they do obtain the Grail. But that's a secret for now. And then there's also the question of whether if the magi of the Fate universe would be affected by Kyubey's manipulations, which brings us to your next question...
And are the masters/magi just magical girls, or are they anyone of all ages and could be male or female?Nope. They are a separate kind of magical-wielders, existing in a separate reality (the Nasuverse reality) that doesn't incorporate the logic and physics of the Madoka reality. Hence they have nothing to do with magical girls, aside for the fact that they are also being manipulated by the actions of both Kyubey and Kotomine. But there's one major difference between the way Kyubey is manipulating the magical girls and the way it is working with Kotomine to manipulate the magi - the magical girls are now under Kyubey's control, the magi are not. Kyubey can will them into non-existence should it choose to. The details of that is a lot more complex and speculative, so let's leave it at that for now. lol
...hey, wait, this war's still in Fuyuki city, right? Does that mean people can claim canon characters as Masters?Yes. But not anything game-breaking or story-affecting without going through me first. :)
That sounds like a better idea than what I had in mind. Let's go with that then. It will open up more spots for people to join anyway. Each of you will play one Master and/or Servant, totalling up to a maximum of 12 roleplayers of 6 Masters and 6 Servants (minus the one Master and one Servant I'll be playing). Also, on a related note, I'd like to ask that you provide more than a few sentences of posts in the IC, since I've had bad experiences with that in the past. Thanks.I have a question! For the servants...do the players control their servants (Player A controls Magi A and Servant A), or do other players control other players' servants (Player A controls Magi A and Servant B, while Player B controls Magi B and Servant A)? O_OOther RP's I've been in, it's been one person making the Servant, another making the Master separately and then pairing them up based on personal choice/agreements etc.
Main canon also says that there can't be any more Fuyuki Grail Wars after the Fifth, but I assume JohnWolff has an explanation for that (and even if not it's not difficult to work around).Ah, I'm so embarrassed. I don't, actually. Sorry, but this is one of the first few RPs I've actually GMed (none of the past ones have ever been completed, so I'm really hoping this would be the first). Oh, riiiiight, I remember. The Holy Grail was destroyed in the F/SN VN upon the fifth war. But yeah, it's like Fish of Oblivion said, that can easily be worked around and rectified, especially with the Incubators involved (alien Holy Grail, for example).
Also, looked over the details; definitely interested and willing to offer advice and practical knowledge if I do join, just need to check my schedule and have a rummage through my notes for stuff. Got a few Servant ideas already, though.Cool. Can't wait.
Ah, what the hey. A light rp will do some good. I might have some Caster or Assassin ideas.Welcome on board. And that makes six. I might accept more entries by the time the OOC is up. I might have some other roles for you guys. Aside from the pressure of GMing an RP based on two franchises of this epic scale, this is coming along nicely. At least it's not an Evangelion RP, because that would've been really pressurising.
I'm interested.Four down, two to go. ^_^
I'm interested. ^_^Great! Thanks. ^_^ I'll wait for for three more interested parties to fill out the roles of the six Masters in the game (not including the one I'll personally play), but like I said, be prepared if this RP won't start for another week or so.
I'm not sure where the 700+ statistic came from, unless you're referring to the Church investigations which were over a supposed grail, in which case that's inherently different from the Holy Grail War and should not be compared to one another. The reason it's considered a pittance is because it is backwater for an association magus (Japan/Asia in general and all that) and because of the three families involved in its creation, only one is noteworthy to a western magus, and even then they're recluses who barely communicate with anyone. As far at the Fate/Stay Night line is concerned, there have only been 5 Holy Grail Wars in the sense of the grand ritual. The Fate/Zero war is the 4th HGW. The only glimpse we have of any war prior to that is in Fate H/A where the characters are forced into the role of the participants of the 3rd HGW.Thanks for clearing it up, Art of Fun. I had thought that The Silver Paladin was referring to the Holy Grail Wars, not just a normal Grail War.
Fate/Extra takes place in the Moon Cell, which sort of allows for additional bullshittery because it's essentially a stronger, alien grail. Also on the Moon.Which also means that the same class of "Saver" can be applied for the RP, because the story in the RP also involves alien tech, essentially those incorporated by the Incubators. The lore behind their species is largely unknown as of the current canon anyway, so we could just make it up as we go along. And besides, I doubt anyone's really going to apply for "Jesus".
