Gunnaya's initial swing failed to hit its target. Instead, it crashed against Blithe's shield. In an instant, Gunnaya recoiled into a fighting stance, ready to strike again.

Just then, the elf put all its weight into the shield, thrusting it forward and upward, into Gunnaya's face. This was too close-quarters for the reach of a quarterstaff. Responding quickly, Gunnaya firmly strode backward, restoring the distance between the two. The elf was making small steps, hidden behind its shield, so it wasn't hard to compensate for the approach. With two great steps backward, Gunnaya's left foot planted stalwartly behind her, allowing her to turn and put all her weight into a swing from the right. As she wound up for the blow, she noticed a tinge of pain in her left leg. She didn't have time to look, but no doubt the elf had made a swing, and sliced her shin as she stepped backward with the other foot.

No matter, this was a full-bodied blow, intended to knock her opponent off her feet! Shield or no shield!
Merry Christmas from North Carolina, where we have the AC on and it's 72 outside.

Dude! Even in Canada we haven't gotten snow yet! It is crazy warm this year!
Haha Merry Christmas to you too!
If enough players still want to do this, I am in. I only lost interest because I was under the impression that a majority of people had abandoned it.

... We been waiting.
Merry Christmas guys! Hope you have a good one!
"Ah then!", Gunnaya exclaimed, "That's good for me!. An opponent who's never known true horror."

As Blithe grew closer, Gunnaya strafed to the left, slowly circling around her target. Her softly looked up and down, waiting for an opening.

"You see, elf", spoke Gunnaya, clearly, gauntly, "Every day I hear the screams of fallen warriors. They tell me every detail of their miserable deaths, as soldiers in a great army."

Veering further and further to the left, forcing Blithe to turn around to face her, Gunnaya's body grew tense. As she stepped, she drew her staff backward, ready for the strike. The gap grew smaller between the two of them.

"Simply put, I know how good soldiers die...", Gunnaya paused, thoughtfully, "And I know how better soldiers kill."

Distant chirps began to fill the air, high above the tree-tops. It was time.

"Tell me, ho-", in an attempt to catch her opponent off guard, Gunnaya cut herself off. She swung her thick, steel-tipped staff around to Blith's sword-arm side. This strike was designed to reach around Blithe's shield from the more-awkward side, and break her sword-arm. A quarterstaff in two hands throws a lot more weight than a sword in one, and Gunnaya hoped her blow would be enough to break through.
Merry Christmas to all my fellow RPer's!

And Merry Squidmas to all my fellow cephalopods!
Awesome! Hey guys, I added a new map in my IC post. Just trying to fill in the white a bit, to make it feel like the Old World is actually... you know... old. As far as I'm concerned, you guys can interact with the coloured territories however you want. They can be NPC's for your story, or empty space, as though they were still white.

Edoniras

The year was 1715, when a Slovyanynish mining company unearthed large subterranean stores of what would later be dubbed "blue coal", in the mountains of East Khansgrad, not far from the empires of Lancia and Numberg. The discovery would have gone unnoticed, had they not tried to use it raw, to heat their furnaces. The entire excavation went up in flames, burning brighter than any industrial fire the world had seen before. The rest of the world, who had only just began experimenting with coal as a fuel source, stood in awe at the potential of this new substance. Soon, every nation clamoured for possession of this new material. With growing empires in every corner of Edoniras, racing against one another for control of the New World, blue coal would mean the difference between victory and defeat.

What followed through the 1700's was a frantic, rapidly evolving struggle between emerging superpowers. The central empire of Lancia constructed endless rail-roads throughout Edoniras, linking cities and nations together, and homogenizing much of global society. The power of black and blue coal expanded the reach of Lancia's trade, bringing wealth beyond comprehension. However, Lancia wasn't the only nation to profit from this new power. Nations throughout the region began taking advantage of this new trend of globalization, as well as uncovering their own stockpiles of blue coal. Before long, the skies of the West were filled with the thick haze of coal-smoke, as great urban factories toiled night and day, driven by the ambition of limitless progress. As tensions grew between the world's new, ever-expanding economic superpowers, construction began on great weapons and vehicles. The race to the New World, and to to the future, was coupled with an arms race. Great armies gathered at their nation's borders, waiting for the inevitable clash of giants.

As the influence of the West continued its growth, word of this development soon reached far into the East, to the ancient empires of Han and Akitsukuni. Locked in an endless rivalry, these empires saw blue coal the means to tip the scale, and finally resolve the centuries of bloodshed.

Birthed from this imperial race, the 1800's saw the rise of independent kingdoms in the New World, along with great colonial expansions from the Old World. By then, blue and black coal had become universal commodities, and empires who had hoped for a quick victory, found that they were once again evenly matched with their neighbours.

The year is now 1860, and race for global superiority, for conquest, has reached a fever pitch. Whether in the East or West, in the New World or Old World, industrial giants brace themselves for a final showdown. Some ready themselves for glory, and others for defeat. The greatest powers in history face off, and the results have yet to be written...
It doesn't have to be the same girl behind the mask or anything, just something to go on. It'd be like taking somebody like Green Arrow and making him somebody other than Ollie Queen. Like Diggle's son becoming the new GA or something. Though he's obviously not available, Superman could be some guy named Chad who's just a metahuman solar battery rather than an alien. You could literally just switch the superhero alias and use a pic like that for reference and that'd be fine.

Especially with 2nd string characters, I don't mind if you remake a character somewhat. Remember the big differences between the Golden Age and the Silver Age?

And for the record, I have absolutely no idea what's went on with that character just that there was a lot of people bitching about her when she was introduced. With the costume everyone lost their shit thinking shed'd be a new gun toting Nightwing after Grayson went deep under cover.

~KL~

Okay, well what's the deal with Nightwing/Robin in the timeline right now? If he's out of the picture, could Xiu become the new Nightwing? She could adopt the name and a similar outfit, but just keep a few tendencies from her previous life.

Edit: on second thought, she's basically Bluebird already. If I just wanted to adopt Bluebird's position (Bluebird 2.0), what else would I need to change, or am I good to go as is?
