Name: Mizushima Isuza
Alias: N/A
Appearance: Age: 18
Position: Shipwright
Personality: Isuza is a bashful girl, who lacks for confidence in herself and the social skills to leverage this confidence even if she did have it. Her awkward nature, in combination with her shyness, usually result in her avoiding others not out of disdain, but out of fear of their judgement. This fear is partially born of the ridicule brought on by her heritage during her younger years, a facet of herself that she is still quite sensitive about. Her lack of confidence, whist often causing her to doubt herself, does serve as a boon in some regards. It drives her ever onwards, on a constant quest for self-improvement, so that one day she may look upon herself with pride. Her friendship, as a result of her tendency to hide away from others, is hard to earn, yet once it has been earned, it is difficult to lose.
Powers/Abilities: Being a hybrid of human and fishman origin, Isuza possesses physical strength five times greater than that of an average human, a trait doubled when underwater and further increased by years of physical conditioning. Although she lacks some of the finer finesse of the fishmen underwater, she is a powerful swimmer and can breathe underwater through a set of gills located along her shoulders. Her mouth is additionally filled with regenerating, serrated shark teeth, each of which is strong enough to tear through stone when combined with her jaw strength.
As a martial artist, she has dutifully honed her body since girlhood for the rigors of combat. Her form is toned and lithe, possessing endurance and stamina far beyond the norm and affording her a great deal of durability. Her greatest asset, however, is her speed. Isuza, like the species of shark that inhabit her bloodline, is incredibly quick, both on land and in the water. She leverages this against her opponents well, using her high speed to blitz enemies and unleash her unusual strength upon them while they're off guard.
The pride of Isuza's combat abilities is that of her Fishman Karate. Though she has only received little formal instruction in the art, she has learned through discipline and initiative several of the art's finer points. Using the water in her opponent's body, she unleashes powerful strikes that manipulate this essential substance to do immense damage to her foes in conjunction with her innate strength. She is capable of manipulating external sources of water as well, to a far more limited scope, to augment this fighting style as well, as seen with her Uchimizu technique.
Although she is far from a master, Isuza is also well versed in repairing ships and basic carpentry. She often uses her Fishman heritage to her advantage, working on seaborne vessels from below to complete upkeep and repairs without having to beach the vessel.
Techniques:Hyakumaigawara Seiken (Literally meaning "Hundred Tile True Punch"): A hard punch that can send an opponent flying. It is claimed that this attack is so strong that it can break through one hundred tiles.
- Senmaigawara Seiken (Literally meaning "Thousand Tile True Punch"): A much stronger version of the Hyakumaigawara Seiken, this move is the "true essence of Fishman Karate". It can break through one thousand tiles, and kill a human with one shot.
- Samegawara Seiken (Literally meaning "Shark Tile True Punch"): A powerful straight punch similar to the usual seiken that transmits the force of the impact through the water in a person's body, enabling the strike to bypass a person's defenses; even those of devil fruit users.
Samehada Shotei (Literally meaning "Sharkskin Palm Block"): A simple palm block with enough force behind it to slap away a sword swing without injuring the practitioner.
Kaimen Wari (Literally meaning "Sea Surface Splitter"): Using a karate chop, the user can split the very ocean itself in order to send a shock wave to attack an enemy.
Uchimizu (Literally meaning "Water Shot"): The user hurls a simple droplet of water at their opponent, which can become a deadly bullet with the kinetic force created by their immense fishman strength.
Umidaiko (Literally meaning "Ocean Drum"): Once underwater, the user punches the water in front of them, pushing it at their opponent and sending a shockwave through it. The shockwave hits the opponent dealing great damage and leaving a pressure mark on their body.
Background: Isuza was born in the aftermath of a battle, somewhere in the Grand Line some eighteen years ago. Her mother, a fishman corsair of some renown, was wounded during a clash with the Marines and left for dead among the tides. Her father, a shipwright working on a nearby island, happened to be the man who found her washed up along the beaches the following morning. A compassionate soul, he took the mercurial fish woman back to his dwelling to nurse her back to health and, as she would learn upon awaking, to hide her from the Marines who would soon be searching the island after spotting her jolly roger tattoo.
What information Isuza has managed to squeeze from her father over the years is scarce, but as far as she knows, this act of kindness stoked the flames of romance between the two. Rather than return to the sea once she was healed, Isuza's mother took to her father's bed and some nine months later, the the hybrid shark girl was born. The romance that created her was short lived, however, as for reasons left unknown to her, the girl's parents split before her second birthday. Isuza's mother returned to the turbulent Grand Line childless and her father, now responsible for an infant, moved to the much safer East Blue to raise his daughter.
Other: Isuza is a half-fishman born to a human father and a fishman mother. Her mother's subspecies is that of a mako shark.
