Bio
I prefer to write in the first person when not writing about/from a character, I am sorry if this may make me seem a bit obnoxious at times. So this is my bio, which means you are interested in finding out who or what Jyoliod is, even if it's just a fleeting moment of pure curiosity, or something to pass the time in-between posts. Either way, I shall indulge you, while also throwing my ego out there for the world of RPGuild to observe.
Jyoliod is, or rather, I am, a character on the stage of RPGuild playing the puppet master of (soon to be)various characters, eccentric, gloomy, thoughtful, harsh, annoying, these are all attributes I may throw into posts depending on the author's state of mind, yet I hope to hold a solid presence of familiarity that I can share with all of you. My goal is ultimately to enjoy my time while not disturbing the comfort of others here in the guild, in the guild I'm not only looking for various RP's to enjoy and craft, but also friends and discussions to partake in. Though, in this manner I can be quite submissive and enclosed, I'm not much of an extrovert so bare with me if you will.
I am always happy to have a discussion and I really enjoy learning new things, so if you're bored enough to have read this far, throw a topic at me in a PM and see where it goes. But enough of that, I'll throw out some more substantive stuff in regards to my RP out-look.

I like: An emphasis on detail, I have a structure complex and find it easier to post when a RP is well defined. However, I'd gladly jump into a free-for-all sandbox type RP just to let loose from time to time, but never as something I plan to or hope to do long-term. I like character development and creating personal quarrels to over-come as a character. I especially enjoy the idea of long-term RP's where the character not only develops mentally but also physically.
Gore is also something I enjoy incorporating into my posts, though I only use it in the proper context. It's an easy thing to detail but also has a lot of room to work with, you have so many areas you can choose to detail and such a post, pulled off correctly can easily contribute, quite powerfully, to the current atmosphere of the RP.
Other Stuff: I am dyslexic, meaning when I read and write, words and letters can often be switched around or substituted for completely different words or letters. This is an issue I try to stay on top of , but if you go through a post and find the structure of words or letters to be mixed up, I'd be grateful if you informed me of this. I make it a habit to re-read my posts three or four times to combat this.
Welcome Karsen, I hope to see you around in the guild, enjoy your stay!
Also, from my minimal experience, people here judge more on quality of your content and how well you can fit your character into the story, rather than post count or time with the guild.
If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to shoot me a PM.
Welcome Carnation, I hope you find pleasure in your time here in the guild. Feel free to PM me any questions you might have, and I'll do my best to answer, or point you to where you can get an answer. See you around!
[NOTE] - Innerscape is a Solo-RP, the following OOC is a formality, additionally I really enjoy structuring OOC OPs so there is that too. Just to clarify; I am not accepting anyone, if you are interested in the RP feel free to PM me and we can discuss things further, but do not hold your breath.
Innerscape ; Deity of the Mind
Introduction
Greetings, this RP will explore concepts such as religion, morality and will have an emphasis on a dark atmosphere at times. The genres covered in this RP are Modern, Supernatural, Slice of Life, Psychological and Horror. The plot is centred around a unique ability that for a long time has laid dormant within all living beings capable of a certain degree of cognition. This ability demands a zealous nature in most who obtain it, rewarding the user with unique abilities and powers for their ability to uphold their own moral code and follow specific routines, such as praying regularly or leaving offerings.
The RP kicks off with strange phenomena happening that triggers civil unrest all over the world, odd and twisted creatures are coming into being and going berserk. Although not entirely useless, the arms of the local law enforcement and military in most areas have offered little resistance to these creatures. One thing has been proven to destroy these creatures quite swiftly, despite their diversity in size, ability and behaviour, and that is the use of a mysterious power only shown to be present in some humans so far.
Mysteriously, however, many of the practitioners of this power have taken to committing crimes or harming others, often claiming that such acts make them stronger, no concise observations have yet been made to validate this claim, however. As for you, well there isn't anything really special about you. You don't have access to this ability, it seems, however, as a concern for creatures being spotted near your local town grows more frequent, so to do these odd dreams of your own little world.
Powers
Your powers will originally manifest themselves as simple 'force waves', simple bursts of energy that resonate from a desired body part, these bursts have no appearance beyond a slight distortion of light there they are used. All users of this ability are only capable of this type of power at first, it is not until a person starts to explore their 'Innerscape' that their powers become refined, specific and unique.
The Innerscape is a mental plane that is the source of one's powers, it can take any form and will often at first have no form and be a mere black void of nothingness. The only exception to this is found in those with really strong religious beliefs, so far what is known of the Innerscape is that concepts such as faith and belief seem to influence it and once it has been influenced, it is very hard to change, but not impossible with a very few exceptional methods that can change a persons Innerscape nearly instantly.
For the reasons above it is easiest to refine, train and strengthen your Innerscape by adopting a religion or creating one, however, the religion one chooses is very important, as it also highly influences a persons capabilities in regards to their powers. A religion such as Christianity offers very little in the way of utility or practicality powers, due to the religions edicts that ban the use of magic, a person who has abilities and is Christian will likely have powers that 'appear' holy in nature, using visual affects such as divine light, white feathers, halos, ect. ect.
Additionally, it appears the more devout one is to their religion and the firmer their perceived knowledge of such religion, the more powerful they become.
Creatures
The creatures of this story take unique and unusual forms, however, they follow an odd theme in that an odd glyph is etched into every single one of them. There are currently four know types of glyphs and current observations seems to denote that the glyphs denotes the creatures capabilities and deadliness. More about the glyphs and their meanings in the glyph section bellow.
The creatures have ranged in varying sizes, from being as small as the common cat to as big as fifty story buildings, additionally their appearances are also subject to vary, however, there are some themes that can be observed relating to their relative glyph, more on that in the glyph section bellow. So far what has been displayed is that all the creatures, regardless of their appearance, glyph or behaviour, regard living beings as a source of food. Creatures are most often found due to an attack on a human or pet, additionally these creatures are extremely resilient appearing to have no discernible vital spots for projectile weapons to take advantage of. Instead stopping power and overall structural damage are what counts, still making several firearms useful, however, anything that serves to merely pierce the body is rather useless and only serves as a hindrance to these creatures.
The creatures also exhibit very fast regenerative abilities, being able to reattach limbs and heal wounds in a matter of minutes or sometimes seconds. Luckily it appears the creatures are only capable of physical attacks, in the form of melee attacks or projectiles, that is to say, there has yet to be a creature that has shown an ability to use powers like some humans and animals have. Finally, these creatures seem to show an insatiable appetite for beings who have the ability to use powers, often times triggering them to go into a frenzy.
Glyphs
Glyphs has offered some useful references for those hoping to combat these creatures. Firstly, it confirms that somehow all these creatures are related, secondly the glyphs seem to imply a hierarchy amongst the creatures and lastly but most importantly, it serves as a good assessment reference for those challenging the creature or assessing it's danger.
As previously stated, there are four known glyph types, each one seems to indicate that creatures capabilities and strength, for this reason the glyphs have been listed as 'Ranks' for the creatures.
Rank 0 ~ The weakest of the creature types, they are the lowest on the hierarchy and are often the size of domestic dogs, however, they can rarely be as large as a human adult. Rank 0 creatures follow similar themes in appearance of having dark grey flesh and quite a random body structure, usually with an odd number of limbs or limbs in places that offer no evolutionary advantage. These creatures are relatively weak and any average joe with a baseball bat could probably fend one or two off, their main advantage is in numbers and they can quickly become a very formidable force when hunting in a pack.
Rank 1 ~ Ranging from the size of a human teenager to a full grown elephant, these creatures are next in the hierarchy and this is when they start to gain quite unique appearances. These creatures are often somewhat clumsy but are still very dangerous, a human would need to be well armed and trained to fight one off by them self and killing more than one of these creatures would be near impossible for a single person without the use of abilities.
Rank 2 ~ Similar size range to Rank 1, these creatures are an extreme danger to the local population of wherever they are, even a single person with the use of their powers would need a high amount of skill to actually succeed in slaying these rank creatures. They often possess very high skill in hunting and are often ruthless in their pursuits. They can be quite intelligent, some knowing when to retreat, ambush and make use of an advantage.
Rank 3 ~ Only very few have been spotted, each being colossal in size and exhibiting extreme destructive power. Even Rank 2 creatures have been observed to flee before their arrival, the Rank 3 is a formidable foe whose size and regenerative ability makes them near immortal. One such creature was the source of a horrific event that caused the destruction of an entire city.
As a final note on glyphs, an odd behaviour that has been observed is that the glyphs will sometimes glow when a creature is eating, if a glyph is glowing, this will often mean that the creature is going to evolve soon, becoming a creature of the next rank up. It is unsure how exactly the system works, but this has been observed in Rank 0 transitioning into Rank 1 and Rank 1 transitioning into Rank 2, no such process has been seen from Rank 2 or to Rank 3 and current consensus is that such a transformation is impossible, given the extreme size difference.
~Name~ Juric Vyan Londe
~Age~ 17
~Gender~ Male
~Occupation~ Student ~ Year 11
~Appearance~ Juric stands at 6'1" and has an average build with a slim figure around his waste and wide broad shoulders, his arms are slightly longer than the average. He is fair skinned with metallic grey iris colour. He wears square black rimmed glasses for his short sighted vision. His hair is jet black and hangs long and low a third of the way down his back, it is often word in a tight plat.
Juric's left arm houses several cut mark scars ranging from the back of his left hand all the way up to his shoulder and even onto his left breast muscle. Juric has soft facial features, his brow line and top lid heavy eye structure compliment his stoic nature, giving him the look of a disinterested day dreamer when he is not expressing emotion.
~Bio~ Juric is a masochist who indulges in sadist desires from time to time, due to his upbringing Juric has quite a chequered personality. He is a loner who struggles to maintain a clear emotional state of mind, easily jumping to anger or happiness sometimes unexpectedly. However, due to his introverted nature, he had been able to analyse and work on these tendencies by adopting a wilful stoic nature, often times stopping himself in the midst of an emotional reaction to something and correcting his behaviour when he can to that of a dull emotionless acceptance.
Juric's self hatred has spawned his masochistic nature allowing him to derive pleasure and momentary relief equivalent to a nicotine hit when ever he harms himself. His masochistic nature is not sexual, however, and it is something he is ashamed of, further adding to his self hatred. He does his best to hide these tendencies from others.
Juric's life goal is a simple one, to live a life of comfort that does not ruin the comfort of others, despite this his mental state and rare bouts of sadist desires, often bought on by pent up emotion, has spawned a cognitive dissonance where he feels that reaching his goal means that he must become comfortable with being a tool that managers others comfort.
~History~ Juric was born an only child to a young couple who loved one another and Juric for than anything. When Juric's mother died in a car accident when he was young, his father did not take it very well. Juric's father spiralled into a crippling depression and started using drugs to escape the reality he now lived in, he mourned for his lost wife regularly often saying that she was his only reason for living. This had a profoundly negative on Juric, as he was neglected and from a very young age needed to take care of his own basic duties as well as look after his father the best he could.
Despite the pain Juric felt at the loss of his mother, he did his best to emulate his mother in regards to looking after his father, whose drug abuse and mental state quickly became a sad affair of it's own. Despite Juric's best efforts, his farther eventually committed suicide when their neglected finances finally caught up to them, Juric was age 12.
Juric would spend the next four years in an orphanage, avoiding adoption due to his odd nature, age and lack of a proper education. It was when he was sent to the orphanage that he started to cut himself to help manage his emotional turmoil. Juric never got along with the other kids, who seen him as odd, weird and scary, however, Juric preferred his own company, often using his imagination to occupy his time. At age fourteen Juric learned what he felt would be his last solid life lesson when he took in a stray kitten, the sickly stray did not live for long as it was riddled with fleas and was quite clearly sick, despite this Juric tried desperately to make it's last moments as comfortable as possible.
At age 16 Juric left the orphanage and used his status as an orphan to get government assistance in procuring an apartment at a large apartment building under the jurisdiction of a local university, which had designated the apartments as only accessible to students. He has spent the last year in this apartment living off of a government provided stipend while he attends school.
Thank you for your patience, I'll be doing an IC post sometime tomorrow. I'm currently working on some more Arc ideas to populate the vault with some more leisurely paced arcs geared towards basic use of victus magic. If you have any ideas of your own, or questions, feel free to submit them!
I've had a little writers block with this, so I think I'll save my post until something more substantial can be done with Jinshi. The posts are quite long as it is, so I'll save anyone from reading three paragraphs of my character stretching and watching fights.
Farther Arabar's words pierced Quel's concentration like a bolter pierces flesh. His work slowed and quieted as he listened to Arabar's words, the very thought of what was to come filled his tainted body with vigour and excitement. When Arabar's words ceased, so did the silence of Quel's work, in a relatively quick fashion he managed to get some of the basic functions on several consoles restored. Not wanting to spoil his fun too quickly, he heeded father Arabar's words in reference to the repainting of his armour, additionally Quel had also become curious as to the possibility of further ship damage coming from the Night Lords who had fled the bridge. Fingering a few buttons on the consoles he retrieved what information he could regarding any damage to the ship, besides a few errors from the consoles yet to be fixed the diagnostic returned only very minor pressure imbalances, indicating some very minor interior damage.
Quel moved from the bridge to the halls, assessing the carnage left behind from the coup. As he drifted through the halls Quel took particular interest in one bit of damage on a metallic wall, it was a scratch mark, he pondered it's origin, it seemed too rough to have come from a power sword, yet not rough enough to have been carved by a chainsword. Suddenly it dawned on him, Amphion's creatures might have caused such damage, removing his padded glove Quel ran his bare fingers over to mark. Something about it excited him, in his six thousand years of existence Quel had repaired and destroyed a lot of machines, however, those twisted by the warp, that seemed more beast than machine had always left a guilty feeling in Quel's bowls. He now recognises this guilt as the product of a hidden excitement and urge to want to work on such machines and aid in their manufacture, his previous dedications to the Night Lords spawned such a guilt in him, but no more. Now Quel only felt excitement as he wondered what abominable machines he'd father in his future service to Arabar and Nurgle.
Yeah man, I'm here. I can squeeze a post out tomorrow, just not sure what I can do with Quel without making my posts repetitive at this very moment in the RP, but I could put something together to stoke the flame.
