Unconventional Magic

The year is 2016. The world you were born into, the one filled with Apple T.V. screens, and excessively beefed up tech is mostly a facade. Yeah, you read that right. Even writing this I feel clique, like I can't even believe my own words. Maybe it's all just been a dream. Well if it was a dream it was damned realistic, and it had drawn on for more than six years now.

No, this isn't a dream, and I'm not going to wake up normal again. Since you're reading this you too are like me, another fool dabbling in the arts he knows not of. Where do I begin? Let's start with this little daisy of inspiration… Demons, they're real, like all of them. I know what you're thinking sounds pretty crazy right… or maybe it doesn't to you, it doesn't really matter if you believe these words, because one day you will. With every fiber of your being you will believe in those words and those words may consume your life. You will not be the same.

Heres another Daisy for you, this one doesn't hurt the head as much. Magic, not that harry potter wand shit that amature wrote about, that most of us grew up reading. Its dark, its bloody and it rarely ends well for every party involved. I’ve seen powerful mages, though, ones that were masters of their arts. Some were hermits living as monks in that certain remote region to that one. Others, well one was Steve Jobs, partly why i don't care for the Apple products entirely. When you're a powerful mage you don't show it off. You keep your shit to yourself.

I'm not here to help you along your path, and i'm not here to hold your hand. I'm here because at one point I, was you. I'm here to tell you just a few things then i'll get back to my amazing life… it's hard to convey sarcasm through text, I see that now. Any way so Demon that one is pretty self explanatory I mean i can go down to the Library and find a book full of random demons from so many different times. Knowing what they are and there names and stuff… Well that would be the easy part. Now summoning one of those bastards that's where things get tricky, and fast. There are countless spells and incantations one could use to summon a demon or even a Deity given enough power but that's not the hard part… not by a long shot.

See the best way I can explain every Demon i've come across, is particularly easy. I have never met one that would not rather kill or eat you than serve you. So novice mages keep that in mind during your first incantations, simple salt barriers should do the trick for any minor Demons but the big ones… now thats were the real fun comes in. Enter Agares… as far as Demons go they are one of my favorites, i say they because they appear in the form of an elderly man with a hawk or a fair maiden whenever convenient. This is one being and there is only one of them. She
(for the sake of argument) is of the rank Duchess and during my summoning I had to, not lying here, wrestle a Tiger. Now most people wouldn't in their right minds wrestle wrestle a great cat, but i'm not most people.

Needless to say the Tiger took out my left hand, my take out i mean ate of course. Anyway when she appeared these were her words and I shit you not. “A whole hand? You have to be fucking with me!” Now if you knew anything about her here general outlook on life isn't a disdainful one it's just rather rude, she also loves cursing. So i gave up my hand to her and in its place grew a new one, the flesh bound me to her and her to me. A really stupid thing to do i realize at the time. Its very hard to get rid of a Demon that you have blood bonded with not without loosing whatever was replaced. I was young and inexperience i'd later learn that a simple ring could hold most greater Demons with the easiest of preparation spells.

Though do I regret ever having summoned Agares? My answer would be no, not entirely, i mean as far as Blood Bonded Demons go, she wasn't a bad one to have around if you could mind the cussing, and boy did she like her cursing. So the Blood Bond right, it means I can behold any of her powers without a summoning ritual or even her physical form there, my hand would take her place. Now just Bonded Demons spells have to be said usually to bring them out of there shells and more spells for them to do your bidding. But let's use Arges as an example, the more spells and incantations I learn the more power i can take from her. She can help me speak in any language, consol the most lost of souls, instill fear into the hearts of my enemies, make cowards stand still as they run away. Even cause earthquakes but I’ve never done that.

Now Magic, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Try this hat on for size, Magic is whatever you believe it is. Listen to this a Child Mage prodigy was born in Georgia. Yeah that Georgia, anyway the kid made up his own language when he was 4 and can speak it fluently, it has its own system of grammar and the whole lot. So this kid, as far as I know of that is, is the first person to do Magic in that language. You should see his work it's so… just different. But because he does Magic in this made up language he cares so deeply about, no one can crack his enchantments. You would have to translate it to whatever language you thought it actually was then (the fun just keeps rolling) you'd have to translate it to a language you knew well to dispel it.

What I'm saying here is Magic is what you make it. We are finding lost and new Magics every day. And lucky little you, you get to help. My name is Hodges, my home is in England on 921 Lowly street in London. I help those like us, the ones that are lost. There's a whole world you’ve never even tasted out there people. I look forward to meeting you all…

So this is an RP about… You guess right. MAGIC, and Demons but psh MAGIC guys right. Anyway you are welcome to create any kind of plausible char you like in this world and you do not have to start off as a novice Mage seeking help from Mr. Hodges here. There are many ranks and classing of Demon so do your research on the ones you summon because i will, we can't make any Demons up they have to be real. So for now this is going to go in the interest check, while i work for today on the rest of the plot and what not.

THIS IS TO GAUGE PPLS INTEREST IN THE IDEA, THIS INTRODUCTION IS NOT SET IN STONE BUT IT MAY NOT CHANGE MUCH AT ALL. AKA THIS IS THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF THE WORLD If it's not states just ask, there are no DUMB questions.

Nevermind then maybe some other time, sorry for even wasting your time.
Name: Lucious Cavon
Age: 541 (appears 19)
Gender: Male
Species: Planeslord
Powers/Abilities: Can travel through doorways to adjacent dimensions, has a vast knowledge of all histories and cultures, of all planes. Partially physic when that ability wants to work, which is rarely. Heals faster than a normal human with the downside of easily being addicted to most drugs. His people call him a Traveler, because he can just think of a point anywhere and travel there, while they must perform huge spells and incantations to even open doorways to another dimension. He does not age the same in Earth Realm. There are no more Planeslords.
Appearance:
Backstory:Lucious was born alone in 17th century England on the doorstep of a Church. The story goes a young woman looking deathly ill had dropped him off in the night telling one of the Nuns he was there then quickly leaving he looked 4 or 5. The first time he used his ability was when he was seven (or 23 earth years) and he accidently teleported back home after a terrible encounter at school. After that he would jump all around the world seeing every corner of it until one day the woman who had abandoned him had returned. He was a hermit in North America when she found him, he was only sixteen, she told him she was his Mother and that she had been away to take care of problem but she was back now, to take him to his home. The old he got on Earth the longer it took him to age and by now he had lived almost 200 years alone as a child, no matter all that time he still didn't grow up, on the inside he was still a kid. For the next 300 earth years, and 500 dimensional ones they traveled through the dimensions until one day they went home. The world his mother had talked so much about was dust. She said that they were the only family of Travelers left, and now we were probably the last Planeslords. When he returned to Earth after his Mother's eventual suicide into the Weave, the very fabrics of existence, he found the world to be entirely different than what he had left, as soon as he returned he felt the knowledge of his home flood his body and he was proud. He would sit up some days trying to find any information on his fellow Planeslords but that's the trick isn't it? If the history of any planes had any mention of a Planeslord it was as though that part of history never happened, or someone just didn't hit record. Whatever the case he's looking for a way, anyway to see that the fate of his people never falls to these ones.
Personality:Jokester, loves a good game or puzzle. He's often quite upbeat and rarely frowns, always has an idea to throw out there even in the gnarliest situations. He likes to hide his intelligence rather than flaunt it, though is known to use it when necessary. He hates Chinese food, loves Mexican. He doesn't talk about or show off his powers all that much in public though he does have a relatively good handle on the Traveling part of his powers he can barely read a mind or Astral project which would have come naturally had he grown up on his home plane. He is honest as Planeslords cannot lie while away from their home plane which is not to say that he's not good at avoiding conversations. Hates being alone.
Friends/Family:Dead/Dead As of coming to the school.
Crush/Relationships: None/None
Other: Loves royal purple always dresses up in vest jackets and nice garments, long sleeved. He's quite tall at around 6’4 with Iridescent blue tattoos all over his body and face. Almost always wears his trench coat over (his) era appropriate attire along with the purple silk scarf he has normally wrapped around his face with his black hair pulled back. His eyes are blue and red, there's a story behind it but i'd rather it get played out then just let it be known.

Hope it gets Accepted :) if i have to change his age i will but you'll see he really is still a kid, and Hi guys
Interested. Ive also read all the books. Haven't read the newest series though.

In 2055 the future is a grim one, people had stopped believing in their governments, and doubting once cherished deities. A world wide war had struck out over oil reserves, and any notion of peace had been blasted away like the remnants of the canadian territories after The Last Invasion. A biological weapon was dropped on the backs of 13 small nuclear bombs devastating the northern regions and wiping out a majority of the population. They never expected retaliation, but the day came when a group of martyrs broke through the Ocean Blockades and brought the world to its knees. One man Doctor Marcus Anima, changed the human race for eternity. The Evolution of Humankind would reach its event horizon because of the actions made by one man.

The possibilities would grow to be endless and a few of the people who lived in the time of Anima, got to see the end of the universe itself. They would watch as the Universe warped and squeezed around them until they were all condensed back to the singularity point there matter had come from. None on that day shed a tear, for nothing to them was as painful as the days they had seen the beautiful existence of humans slain. These people in the moments before the big crunch looked as they had some odd hundreds of millions of years ago, and they would float there in a weightless void as their bodies adapted to there every surrounding.

As a fraction of a millisecond went by there body had changed and adapted in more ways than was conceivable. There fluid had adjusted to the pressures of space. In some there lungs had adapted and grown glands within to produce oxygen, others had adapted to making their own atmospheres around them in an unconscious manner. There bodys had developed its own barriers separating it from space, and as you could imagine they were nearly indestructible in every way shape or form.

Some saw him almost as a god, “the mortal man that solved the problems of death”, others scorned him for what he had turned mankind into. By the time of those who saw the big crunch mankind is no more, in a sense that not a single one of the beings floating through outer space felt at all, human. Many of the humans realizing their true demises and the eventual end they must see, despite having the ability to live this destiny and see the true answers of the universe choose to end their lives and shut down completely, floating eternally through the voids of eternity. Many could be found in the graveyards of the rubbles of earth that floated around there cold star, like statues eyes all frozen to their wasted world. Never to move again.

Though that is the distant future and we are fortunate enough to live the lives of the present. Our fates are not set in stone, but we haven’t realized our universe’s isn’t.. Some of us are scientist that worked alongside Anima in our own fields of study, though most of us are lab subjects with extremely experimental versions of the microbots. This is Anima’s legacy, his etching in the fabrics of the universe, and the possibilities are literally endless. One day the potential of mankind will reach a point where it can never get better because it is the best it can be. What will you become?

Somdium Corp. has just introduced Anima “Mark 1” to the public. The lab subjects and scientist have a special “Mark 2” that adapts to every possible scenario. The Ability you begin with will pale in comparison to what your power will truly be. If you can survive, when you exit the massive underground facility owned by Marcus Anima himself. The average citizen with the Mark 1 can do a number of things, and in many ways the Mark 1&2 are almost exactly the same, the only major difference is the adaptive tech in the Mark 2’s. But why would the future of humankind be put into a bunch of scientist and lab subjects? That leads us to one of Anima’s favorite questions “why not?”

The Year is 2067, you wake up in a crowded room, that seems to be a prison cell of some sort… But all the doors are open. It looks as though the building has been abandoned, as you walk to the exit to try and get out of this purgatory, you notice a scientist in a lab coat hanging on the wall by a noose. Stapled to the man's shirt was a small piece of paper and on it said “You can't play God!” written in hasty handwriting. You continue to the exit noticing people are beginning to stir from their slumbers, scientist were starting to get up off the ground.

Every person there looked different, but they all shared two qualities 1. they had all woke up with no memory of who or what they were, besides the wristbands on the patients and the ID cards on the scientist. 2. each one of them had a scar running from the base of there neck to there tailbone.

You find a group of misfits that seems to have a bit of an idea whats going on… One man stands alone in the front of the room that once was the testing center for this facility. He says in a deep voice “Hello, im sure you're wondering why you're all here, all i can tell you is… Life as it was has changed. In order to save you all from pharmaceutical genocide Doctor Anima put all of us in a stasis for two years locked away in this facility. As far as i can tell the outside world doesn't even know this bunker is here.” He began to walk off as though he had something to check on but quickly turned around “Oh i almost forgot… My names James Dowley. I was head of design on Anima’s team.” The tall man reached up and touched the back of his neck feeling the scar there.

As he walked out he looked at the countdown that had finally reached zero. “I’ve waited two years for this day,” He said taking off his lab coat. “Today we go the surface and see what kind of world of Maker has been living in, He said it was the only way to stay pure. With all this power you see, the world has gone mad. There are…” He stopped grabbing a lighter and a pack of cigarettes from his vest pocket. “Well you will see.”

James’ Character Sheet:

Name: James “Beni” Dowley

Age: 27

Appearance: James’ entire body is covered in scars, from wars before his time there and the big one that brought him here. He has pale almost white hair, and his eyes are a swirling mix of pink and blue, and they often change color depending on his mood, which leads to him revealing information without saying a word at times. He often curses Anima for this because one time he overheard a conversation Anima was having with another lead on his projects. He says it was there Maker’s way of giving him his shortcomings, that way he could never truly lie again. His face is the most severely scarred from before the fatal accident that left him nearly in the dirt, and though they were plentiful they didn't look severe and a small hint of a dimple still resided on his cheek. He’s rather tall about 6’4, and he has long arms and legs that you wouldn’t normally attribute to a warrior. He rarely looks serious so when he does it matters. If you ever saw him completely naked he would look pretty much like a frankenstein monster, and toward the center of his torso there were still traces of the tattoos that had once covered most of his body. He has an olive almost tan complexion.

Initial Ability: The main ability James has is, whatever he touches he knows the make up of it down to its atomic level. This ability started as being able to touch something with his Mark 1 implant and immediately knowing either what was wrong with it, or how to improve it. Which helped him reconstruct his body after his accident. Also cellular reconstruction at a high rate. It may take some years to learn to speed up their reconstruction.

Who He Was: James “Beni” Dowley was born in Dublin, Ireland to a young girl who could not keep him. Through the foster system he found his way to the countryside and lived there as a small boy to his early teens. When he was 14 he ran away from the system to start his new life in America and quickly found his way into gang life on the streets of Los Angeles. It was there he learned the art of the con as a young boy, and was quickly organizing his own gang of hackers before he was 15. But life suddenly turned to pot on his 17th birthday when the world went to war, he suddenly found himself being offered a job to order his own mercenary crew in the upcoming war. This was the first time something like this had ever happened and it even made headlines in the countries he had fought for. None the less, his crews were some of the most successful and after five years of war, he was one of the most respected generals of the Free nation, now established. After two more years of service the war ended and the entire world was united in. All nations had absolved into the Free nation and war seemed over. But James knew better, War never ended.
So at 23 he had found a wife and settled down back in LA with his wife and two kids. Years later while he was working on medical research at the lab at his home, there was an explosion in the main wing killing his family and sending him flying into the road where the people responsible for murdering his family drove over him 2 times before leaving. He was just accepting his death as just, when men showed up and took him to a hospital barely even a human anymore, but somehow with the missing limbs he was still breathing. As he lay there in agony in the hospital bed, body burnt and destroyed, Marcus Anima came to see him.
He said he was planning something huge that the world would forever be changed by, and he said he wanted James’ help. At which point James yelled at Anima to let him die alone like he wished, and how he was no use to anyone how he was. After being pelted with most of James’ dinner the man stood up and steadied James’ good hand with his. He told him that he had seen what had torn most of his body apart in his lab during the explosions, all the research he had put into adaptive technologies and cellular reconstruction. With that James’ let his friend transfer him to his private facility where he was given one of the first samples of Mark 1 called “Noah” at the time and it was extremely experimental even then. When he had a team in his hospital room, with the new power The “Noah” had given him he finished his work on cellular reconstruction, and put his body back together piece by piece, as it was before his accident from his accident. He helped Anima Design the Mark 2’s adaptive properties and was also the first to receive the upgrade.

Personality: James is almost always pretty happy even in the most stressful of times, which is polar opposite to who he was as a war general. Though his eyes are cold and distant he always tries not to get caught up in his past and slip into his own mind, and sometimes it shows as he will simple just zone out for a few moments sometimes with his eyes closed. He’s a smooth talker, and would rather talk out most of his problems before pulling out the pistols. He has a kind heart and at times seems almost fearless since his Mark 2 has given him the ability of cellular reconstruction and he is often very chill and relaxed, often with a wise to crack, and a cup of tea for you to pour your sorrows into in his office on the bottom floor of the bunker.
once we get a few more people ill make a topic in the casual thread

He has a kind heart and at times seems almost fearless since his Mark 2 has given him the ability of cellular reconstruction and he is often very chill and relaxed, often with a wise to crack, and a cup of tea for you to pour your sorrows into in his office on the bottom floor of the bunker.
