The rise of the hunters left the world of darkness in disarray and weakened over a century ago and yet a new dawn is on the rise, one that will present the foundation for the future. The Council of Shadows as long since been and yet through the ages have found themselves hidden further in their masks than ever before, and yet... the church has closed the doors on its league of hunters, assuming all that was once in violation of God's law is now and forevermore extinct, but that is what we'd have them believe.
As time has passed, however, the families who were once the greatest hunters for the church have stayed ever-vigilant for the world. However, there are merely two hunters left now, and it seems they are the only ones who know of the plague which haunts their world. They can't hope to win alone, but perhaps if they had proof, they could gain the following they once had... If only they could attain some kind of evidence.
The year is 1830 and the story begins in Greenwich, England at the winter meeting of the Counsel of Shadows.
The Council of Shadows is made up of two delegates from each race (Vamp, Wolf & Demon), and meets twice a year in the Grand Hall Museum on the eighth floor located on the towns square of Greenwich, England. All other members of their elder clan are invited to attend the semi-annual meetings, but no one else. Each of you will play an elder member of your clan and will reside in Scottland with the other elder clans. Each species represented in the council has an equal voice and though we will have a good deal of distrust and angst toward one another, we will work together to fight enemies and keep the humans at bay.
The clan, covens, packs and hordes that the Council members represent spread all over the globe and as you can imagine, the Elder group from Scotland has members that are responsible for other members of their species in various cities, allowing each group to really be connected to their own people throughout the world. I'll let the heads work with each of you guys to establish you place among the elders and work to help represent the larger group of your species (NPCs will be important in your respective groups).
It is the year of the Vampires, so our Coven Elder, ME, will be the Shadow Leader for a ten year cycle. If your character wants to challenge that, I'd love to eat you for dinner, so please do... try.

Brief History: (1-2 graphs - don't tell me everything. I like finding out IC most of the background of our characters)
Species:
Traditional vamps where sunlight, holy water, beheading and a good old fashion stake to the heart will kill you. We're leaning on the concept of vampires from Underworld and Van Helsing, allowing the vamps to turn into creepy-ass bat like creatures. Please remember that the true nature of a vampire would be a monster dressed in the appropriate seduction for their prey. They are not creatures bred in love and raised in romance, but animals looking for their next meal and willing to utilize the skills given them to obtain the world if they desire - regardless of the associated cost.
**Please note that the older you get, the more you can withstand the dawn and dusk hours as long as it's not direct sun, but it leaves you weak and quite tired.

These wolves will be very much like the beasts that are seen in Underworld and less like the overgrown puppies in twilight. Strength, speed and agility reign supreme here, as does order and respect. The moon is the only pull that will change man into beast, but if it hides behind the clouds you'd better take cover, but cause you'll likely be useless. They are capable of hearing even the slightest whisper from a distance too far to imagine and can follow a scent up to a few days old. They are very much beast like when the moon arrives and have very little cognizant reasoning when that time hits them.

Demons will take human form most often, but have the ability to shift into one creature at will. These creatures would include a crow, tiger, bear or wolf. Just making sure no one chooses a snail to be cute. They travel as a cloud of smoke and move faster than any of the other species. Their strength in humanoid form is comparable to that of the other races, but agility in the fight is at a bit of a disadvantage due to their size. They would only be in demonic form if they were in the presence of an elder demon.

Once blessed by the church and sanctioned for greatness, the Circle of Elders brought forth the most intelligent and physically advantaged children in their respective areas and trained them in the ways of hunting and extinguishing monsters. After the human world began to believe that the monsters no longer existed, the church soon feel prey to the pressures of removing the fierce hunters from their payroll, the overly talented and aggressive predators frightful even though the stood on the right side of affairs. As such, very few hunters remain, but those that do believe that the threat of the supernatural is far from passed and they search for proof regardless of the cost to themselves, their family and society.

I like using pictures in the IC, so feel free to add your own if you're up for the challenge. Scenes, peeps, anything to help set the mood.
We will be starting out the IC in Greenwich, England on the day of the Council meeting. If you're not a leader of your group, you're allowed to attend the council meeting, but you must sit on the outskirts of the circle, much like a town hall might look and the inner circle will only be six of us. Those six are listed below. The majority of this story will not be able the counsel, but the opening must be to set the stage.
Your character is in England because you are a member of the leaders pack, horde or coven. Once we are done at the Council meeting we will return to our home in Scotland and/or move to another land because of information given at the council meeting that their is a threat of the great hunters of the church lurking upon us and we'll need to extinguish it.
The story is of course based on character development, tragedy and adventure, but we have plots in the background that will push different characters to move the story with us. I'll keep you in the loop on that here.
If you have any subplots that you want to throw in, just talk to me and we'll make sure there is loads of drama and creative license as we write together. :)
