Rezzik was in his room sitting, a desk in front of him with a holoscreen on and his hands tapping on the holoscreen keyboard, words and numbers flashed in front of him. He then flashed a video of a squadron of human and alien ships fighting.
"What are your patterns? What makes you so much better?" He asked the screen as he zoomed in on a squadron of alien ships, as they made their formations and maneuvered in a way that was very foreign to him. It was like this for hours, Rezzik was checking archived video of past battles trying to learn how the aliens fought that would give him an edge when he would encounter them again. The Direwolves needed good pilots and he couldn't be a good pilot without learning about his enemies tactics, formations, weaponry and skills and learning about the weaknesses of this ship.
He had been at this since he was assigned to the Direwolves, making notes and cataloging what he found in hopes that it would help the effort. He packaged the information and sent what he recorded to his superiors with the subject line "Enemy research log 124" and sent it. He assumed that these archives were looked over top to bottom but he felt that it would help to have another fresh set of eyes on it.
Suddenly alarms started blaring through his screen and began playing a message. Alarm, meeting taking place in 30 minutes this is a reminder to yourself to get ready and be there. We cannot afford to be late again Rezzik.
"Oh shit! I almost forgot! Captains going to put me on shit duty if I'm late to another one." He yelled to himself as he rushed to wash himself quickly and got dressed in his proper uniform and ran out the door. He waved to all of his friends that he passed by on his way, each commenting on the time and that he better hurry in which he would respond with a one fingered salute unless he ran into a superior officer and would give the proper one.
He saw the new faces on the ship, people that he hadn't seen before, it made him excited seeing the new recruits and hoped that they were decent pilots. Although if they were too fresh he would be more than happy to get them up to speed. A good squad is as strong as its weakest link and I want the weakest link to destroy at least a dozen fighters if I had my way with them. He thought as he continued on to his assigned meeting room.
He quickly checked the rooms as he ran passed them -0024 he saw and gained speed, he had be close, he couldn't be late! He finally saw his meeting room name sticking out from the door and saw people beginning to gather there. He stood in the line -0027, Come on, come on! He thought just as he got in the doorway and began to float, Yes! Made it and with time to spare. A few of his friends saw him make it and looked at the time, commenting that he made it on time finally which he again replied with the one finger salute and high fives before taking his seat with them in the back.
"I wonder what the big commotion is about, usually welcoming the new recruits doesn't have so much emphasis on us being here. Knight must have something else important to tell us." He said to his friend Jaxon that was sitting beside him. He only shrugged at Rezzik.
"I don't know man I just hope that this means we are getting some action, the action in here is getting kind of stale if you know what I mean?" Jaxon said to Rezzik. He responded with a shake of his head and a pat on the mans shoulder while laughing.
"You're a real Casanova there Jaxon, the ladies are going to have to watch out for you." He commented as he looked ahead waiting for their briefing to start.
Name: Kaldera Ginjiro Nicknames: Little Dragon Age: 27 Gender: Male Height/Weight: 180.34cm/83.9kg Master of: Lancer Command Seal Location: Left Shoulder Wish: To gain the powers of a god, to become one himself Origin: Combat
Appearance:
Personality: Kaldera is a bit of a loud mouth, always wanting to talk and build up his ego, he likes to joke around and is often smoking a joint and usually gets high before a fight begins. He believes that it relaxes his body to make weird movements and able to attack at angles that would not be normal as well as heightens his senses. When it comes to fighting he is completely focused, merciless and deadly, while he fights he often taunts his opponents wanting them to make a mistake based on their anger. He loves sweets, especially hard sugar candies that require some time to eat. Teamed up with lancer he often asks to be trained by him as well and shares the love of battle. He understands that he can be killed during the Holy Grail War but has accepted that as fate and continues to fight.
Biography: Kaldera was born of a mother from Okinawa, Japan and a father from Beijing, China. Both of them were magus', their marriage was an arranged one, combining two magus families into one in order to produce a child that would hopefully be strong enough to participate and win the Holy Grail War. Kaldera might have been the first born but he wasn't the only one, he had two other brothers and a sister. They wanted to make sure that at least one of their children were gifted with the magical circuits. Kaldera and the second born kid were born with the circuits, the other two were not, the ones that were not connected were able to live normal lives. To be the faces of his families legacy, while he and his one brother were plunged into the depths of their home and the underground, never to be seen in public or known of.
Kaldera first released his circuits when he was 4 years old, his parents were overjoyed and began his training. His parents were both each skilled in a different art, his father was a elemental mage specializing in the earth and his mother was a mage that specialized in witchcraft using potions and curses to make her strong and her enemies weak.
As he trained with both his parents he learned many different skills that would make him a unique fighter. He became well trained in the earth element, how to be strong from it, to use the mana from the ground and make his feet act like roots, absorbing the energy around him like a tree in the forest so that he could perform stronger spells if need be, he also learned how to manipulate the earth and how to use certain elements, especially metals that would aid in his fighting. He even made the skill stronger by using two long bladed chains as weapons, it would allow him to make direct contact with his opponents and use his earth magic to sink into the person's skin and begin doing internal damage to the person as well as the magical circuits that were within them.
His mother being a witch was less entertaining at first, often reading books about herbs and plants, their properties, but it was when he learned what they could do. He learned that some are toxins that can make the human weak, dazed, sick, sleepy, love struck while also creating remedies for his own ailments, healing injuries as well as enhancing oneself by increasing strength, speed, durability if done correctly. She also had a secret technique that she would teach him if he put effort into this skill. So he did and actually learned from her and finding what he could make quite amazing. He was soon able to make some toxins/poisons as well as minor healing and remedy potions.
When he learned what he could from his mother she kept her promise and taught him a secret technique that her family had designed using a curse by having his chains act as a medium, he can use an incantation while they are contained in his chains and release his opponents Od and focus it with the mana surrounding them to the point where it can be focused in front of Kaldera's palm and released as a focused energy beam causing severe harm, even death, depending on the amount of time he can spare to keep the incantation going to collect more Od and mana. She says that it is a form of magic called Formalcraft and is what lesser mages use to harness mana instead of relying on their own Od, the difference with theirs is that the power and speed to use it is enhanced by the fact that he is releasing and harnessing ones own Od and mana to use against them. With what might take a hours to conjure he can do in minutes.
Through all of this something bothered him, and that thing was his brother, who also was a magus but was never trained with him, he was trained separately. Kaldera would ask his parents about what they were doing and they would respond by telling him that they wanted to see what what skills grew differently between his brother and himself to make their abilities unique, that his brother was given secrets about his fathers skills in earth magic. So he thought nothing of it and continued his training without much more inquiring, it was not a competition to him and it only made him work harder.
The next part was his physical training in the art of physical combat, learning the chinese fighting style of Wushu to allow smooth defensive movements and calming of the body through breathing techniques as well as use of formidable strikes to subdue his opponent, he also was taught the Indian martial art Marma Arti (hitting the vital spots) which if a master were to use could kill or paralyze a person by hitting one of the 108 vital nerve points, Kaldera had only learned enough to distrupt and temprorily disable someone, but combined with his skills with the chains and his earth element magic he has learned to be just as deadly.
He was mentally trained as well, to enjoy combat, to ignore pain as well as focusing on his senses and to trust his instincts. He would often be placed in sparring matches at this stage of his training and his parents would praise him when he won and shunned him when he lost. It made him train harder, became more arrogant, his skin became hard, his bones and muscles strong, his will became strong as well and with each fight becoming easier he became more cocky and developed a taunting attitude when fighting, but most importantly to his parents, it made him become accustomed to violence and was taught that combat should end in the death of one of the combatants. That it was the truest form of combat.
This type of training would continue if not get more and more difficult, where he fought older, more experienced people either in the art of magic or in the art of hand to hand combat and was placed at disadvatages all the time and would often enough have to fight to the death.
This went on until he reached the age of 27 where he would meet his final test, he had to fight a man in a mysterious costume that covered his face, only showing his eyes. Kaldera's parents told the two that this was their final test, that they were the two greatest warriors of their families and that they would need to fight each other to the death in order to find out who would be the chosen one for the Holy Grail War and be able to take on the ritual in order to summon a servant.
Kaldera took the challenge with a smile on his face, finally all his training would show that it had paid off in this moment and would be able to attain a servant, a high honour. His opponent was quick to strike, a water mage, keeping Kaldera at a distance, he used his chains to block off the minor spell attacks and worked his way closer to his opponent, only to find that the man was also skilled in hand to hand combat. The fighting would continue on for hours as neither one showed signs of stopping, it was until Kaldera was able to get his chains to hit two vital points by the neck and made his chains wrap around the man and began to use his earth magic to spread his chains into the mans body and cut his magic connectors. As the metal did it's work he proceeded to walk up to the man now on his knees and began his incantation, he pulled the mask off the man. It was his brother! He began to cry out to Kaldera, begging for his life, Kaldera frowned and became angry, why beg for mercy? That was not what they were raised to become, he felt that his brother had lost his way and granted him freedom, in the form of death by grabbing his brothers head, pushing it forward with his left hand, watching and feeling his brothers Od leak from his body and began focusing into his right palm, he then continued his incantation, his brother screaming at this point but it would not help him, he gathered the mana around him and focused all the energy to his right palm and when he felt that it was right he struck hard into the back of his brothers head, energy pierced through the skull and blasted his brains all over the floor. He had won! His parents hugged him for the first time, he had never felt such joy.
He was then given something that was called a catalyst that would be used in order to summon a servant, it was a portion of fine gray hair wrapped and sealed in a box. He was told that this hair belonged to one of the greatest warriors of China (he was given the name of the man but told never to reveal it to anyone) whose hair was shaved from his head after his murder and finally acquired after a long hunt from his father. He was a man paired with the right master would be able to win the war and become champion.
It was soon after that he began the ritual to summon his servant, he concentrated hard on the man and used the catalyst during the ritual. His hard work had paid off and he was granted the Lancer servant, a master in his own right. The first thing he did was challenge his own servant, after a quick battle that ended in Kaldera losing he realised the gap that was between them. He asked the servant to train him how to become such an efficient fighter as he. Lancer told him that he lacked skill in channeling his Qi, another form of energy that does not require mana or od but from the spirit. He would continue to train with his servant in the ways of Qi and would work his hardest to close that gap in time for the tournament as they got on a boat to Japan.

If the incantation is broken the spell is broken as well. 15 second incantation to use spell.
When using these spells, Kaldera must be completely focused on using the spells, if interrupted in any way the spell is broken, the chains no longer penetrate into the magical circuits and the magus can once again use magic, if anything they will feel pain from it.

Noble Phantasms: Name: Shen Qiang Wu Er Da: Divine Spear, No Second Strike Quote: "There is absolutely no contradiction to this spear that is exalted as the Divine Spear!” Rank: - Type: Anti-Unit Range: 2~5 Description: Shen Qiang Wu Er Da.
God Spear, No Second Strike is the spear technique of Li Shuwen. Similarly to "Tsubame Gaeshi" and "Wu Er Da", it is a technical skill perfected to the point of being sublimated as a Noble Phantasm. It has the same effects as the Assassin-class "No Second Strike"**, but the range was broadened by holding a spear. From the anecdote of "I pierced the flies perched on the wall without scratching the wall", one can guess that the precision of his movements is also no different from when unarmed.
It is not a true Noble Phantasm, but rather the quintessence of his martial arts where all of his hard strikes, even those meant as a diversionary strike or a feint, are enough to snatch away the opponent's life. He was an expert martial artist with strength that surpassed that of others, but the principal of "engulfing the opponent with Qi being put into practice was thought to be more important than physical strength. One theory states that he did not just defeat opponents with the destructive power of his fists. Those defeated by his techniques did not suffer from the damage to their internal organs, but rather from what in the present would be called circulatory shock. This Noble Phantasm is the case of "when a Heroic Spirit's martial arts becomes his one and only asset, the 'skill' itself is sublimated as a Noble Phantasm."
The technique of "engulfing with Qi" does not have a fixed title as a technique, and it is an idea that just slightly resembles the Cosmic Orbit methods seen in the Taoist discipline. Zhou Tian is a kind of training method in which Qi is cultivated by enclosing the body and mind in Qi, revitalizing the whole body and allowing for the resonance and amplification of the Qi. One goal of the training is to fill one's body with Qi and to fill one's own Qi in the surrounding space. It has been speculated whether or not Li Shuwen "engulfed his opponent with Qi" by utilizing the practice of molding the space filled with his own Qi in order to construct his own territory. Those who have been "engulfed with Qi" would have some of their senses dazzled, entering into a heightened state of tension and paranoia, and in the case a direct impact is driven into the nervous system of an opponent in this state, it would either give the feeling that their nervous system was under almost unendurable strain, or their heart will feel like stopping due to a reaction in the pneumogastric nerve.
This technique skew his target's nervous and circulatory systems as well as Magic Circuits. It disrupts the internal Magic Circuits like a tornado, and in a Servant's case, the magical energy connection to one's Master can no longer function properly for a time.
Li Shuwen
Lancer's True Name is Li Shuwen, a legendary martial artist from China who, despite born in modern times, carved many legends. A Chinese martial artist from Yanshan County, Hebei - Cangzhou (1864~1934). Having been born in the deathbed of the Qing Dynasty, Li Shuwen distinguished himself soon after beginning to take lessons in Bajíquán, ascending to the point of being extolled as the strongest in the history of Chinese martial arts. A prominent martial artist in the history of Chinese martial arts, renowned as "a second strike is needless, so long there is one it will suffice". Otherwise he is known as Demon Fist Master of the Bajíquán. Rather than learning 1,000 techniques, he personified a literal one-hit kill by thoroughly polishing up a single technique.
The progenitor of the Li clan's branch of Bají, Li Shuwen excelled in the use of spear to the point of being nicknamed "Divine Spear Li". The "Six Harmony Great Spear" that he used was a basic weapon of the Bají-branch and, if one is to accept this extreme logic, it can be said that the unarmed techniques of the Bají-branch (the Bajíquán) are nothing but preliminary steps to learn the techniques of this great spear.
It is said he have brought too much hatred due to killing too many opponents and finally had his life ended by being served poison from the victims relatives.
Kaneda stepped forward as he was told and heard that his prize was going to be a M1911 pistol, he couldn't help but smirk.
"Thank you sir, I will make good use of the gun and will make its former owner proud." He said as he saluted.
He then stepped back into formation and headed to have lunch.
As the team entered the lunch room and stood in line waiting for his meal he was going to ask Jonathan what he and Maria had talked about, as he saw them begin and end the run together and could not imagine that it was a quiet walk/run the whole way, but saw in the mans body language that he had something else on his mind, so he kept quiet and was given a plate of military grade spaghetti, he wouldn't mind it after the run they just had and wasn't going to complain about food at a time like this. He did look at Oscar though and gave him a nod acknowledging that he was right, "wet noodles and tomato paste" he said under his breath and chuckled a little before taking a seat.
This time he sat across from Anton, he had never really had a chance to talk to the Frenchman, from what info he was given he knew that the man was a pilot, very interesting because he had not met a pilot before and had some questions for him when he had the chance. As he ate Anton spoke up and talked about where they might be deployed.
"It would be nice to be placed in a position where we could spearhead our way into Europe and with Montgomery at the helm we might stand a chance. That is just hoping though, for all we know they might just drop us out of a plane into enemy territory. We have to be prepared that we might be thrown into some real deep shit when we are deployed. And in order for that to happen our higher ups need to start filling us in with facts about what is going on out there we keep getting bits and pieces but not the whole picture, I hate going into something blind, it's frustrating." Kaneda said as he looked over to see the captain sitting with his superior officer and chatting about something that he couldn't hear the officer leaving and Jonathan going up to the captain. He could also see Oscar was in his own head, Kaneda wondered what he was thinking about because whatever it was it was giving off some dark vibes but thought that it would pass and he would cool down.
After giving his answer he followed up with his own question to Anton.
"So from what I hear you are a fighter pilot, what's it like to fight in the skies? And what possessed you to even consider getting in a plane in the first place?" He asked with a curious look and taking a spork full of his spaghetti noodles and slurping them down.
Kintaro Hiorihanzo stepped into the ring surrounded by men, their cries for blood and violence roared through the abandoned steel mill. His heart was pumping as the excitement grew in him, this is it! The final fight for all the prize money, just one more fight and it's all mine. He thought to himself stretching his arms and legs before pounding his fists together, it was his fourth fight of the night, his body ached and his wounds from the previous fights were starting to hurt. He was going to be sore after this, but if he won it would be worth it. He looked at the man across from him, might as well should have been a body builder with his physique, tanned skin and tall, muscular frame. He might be trouble, but Kintaro didn't get here on good looks alone. He and his opponent came to the centre of the ring where the announcer stood.
"Alright men, this fight is on for 2 rounds, ten minutes each. The winner wins the prize money of $4000, the loser will receive $1000. Only way to win is by knock out or submission, if none of those conditions are met then your shit out of luck and each only get $500."
Kintaro smirked, "Hey shitface, how about we make things interesting. Winner takes all, loser walks away with nothing but the shit in his pants from the beating he's about to take and yes I am talking about your future." He taunted the man hoping he would take his bait.
"Oh think your tough asshole, your on! You won't even need the money because you'll be dead!" Shouted the man.
"Alright then we have a deal, winner takes all! Are you ready for the storm that's brewing because I don't think you are." Replied Kintaro as he made his way back to his corner, the other man did the same.
The announcer left the ring and the crowd roared over the new news, this was going to be an amazing fight for them. The announcer went to a corner of the ring and announced "FIGHT!"
The crowd was on their feet as both men met in the in the middle, and the fight began. The man immediately threw a right punch to the face of Kintaro, but he was expecting that. Men like his opponent didn't like to be insulted so they usually go to the one place when angry, the face. So Kintaro was already on the move under the fist and began to throw left hooks into the mans right side of his body where the liver would be. The man grimaced in pain and tried to grab him, but Kintaro was already on the move, swiftly shifting beside the man and kicked at the mans right leg. His opponent twisted and swung his arm, hitting Kintaro's upper arm, no real damage but it still hurt, he rolled with the blow and came back on his feet.
The man jumped at him, his arms wide wanting to get ahold of him. He was met with a flurry of short swift punches to the mans stomach and when the man crouched over in pain his head was met with a high kick throwing it back up. He could see that this was his chance, he kicked his right leg out to move around behind the man and got his arms around his neck. He quickly followed up by placing his legs and making and "r" shape his left leg parallel with the mans waist line and his right leg overt top lining paralle to the mans leg and pulling that leg towards him, cutting of blood flow from the mans waist down. He then began moving his arms, his left arm wrapping tightly against the mans exposed neck and putting his right arm over top using the inside of his elbow as a fulcrum and pulling that same arm to the back of the mans head.
The man desperately tried to shake him of and pull his arms apart, but it wouldn't work, he was locked in and not letting go.
"Time to go to sleep shitface." Kintaro taunted as he pulled tighter, the man's body soon became weak and began to fall. The light in his eyes glazed over as he passed out from blood and air loss.
"Kintaro is the winner!" The announcer yelled to the crowd that repsonded with cheers. Kintaro raised his hand and smiled in victory.
"Now who can hook me up with a joint? Trust me when I say I can afford it." He jokingly asked as he waved his $6000 winnings.
After a short time Kintaro was in his normal clothes again, putting them on over his fighting attire, grabbed his traveling bag and lit his joint before continuing on to the nearest hotel and bar. He inhaled deeply, let the smoke enter his lungs completely before exhaling as deeply letting he smoke leave his lungs.
"*Large Sigh* it just never gets old." He confirmed with himself as he entered the blissful haze of getting high. He walked calmly down the nearest street, counting his money and checking out his travelling joint case. He counted 20 joints, should be good enough for the time being. Now he just wanted a beer further his celebration before going to sleep.
But then he heard a noise coming from the alley across from him, the street light must have been broken because the figure that he thought he saw didn't make sense. That don't look human to me, this joint better not be laced with something or I'm going back to that guy and giving him a piece of my fist. He wiped his eyes and looked again and the figure was gone, Ah man, maybe I won't have that beer, he thought as he shrugged and continued on.
A noise came from behind him.
"Alright you little shit, if your trying to mug me then you've got another thing coming!" He yelled as he put down his pack close to him and positioned himself in a fighting stance. He felt a tap again on his shoulder and turned with a kick, but it hit nothing. The figure stood right in front of him and he felt as if he had hit nothing. It's mouth opened he felt his last moments were throwing a fist out before being consumed with darkness.
=============
He woke up to... sunlight? Oh man what the f*** is going on? Did I smoke some potent shit, or did I get drunk and wonder off onto a field? He rubbed his head, he didn't have a headache like he would if he were to drink and thought hard. The dark image flashed and he remembered and placed his hands on his head again and rubbed his...What in the world, that doesn't feel like hair, that feels like fur! He moved his hands out in front of him and saw that his arms were covered in gold fur and his hands were not normal skin, but a thick skin, like that of a monkey. But he couldn't be a monkey, he was human!
He pushed his arms down to get him to stand up and noticed a significant change in strength as if threw his body off the ground and into the air. He then came back to the ground and landed softly on his feet, which evidently enough were now shaped like hands instead of feet. He looked at his body and realized he had some type of armour on, metallic of some kind but light easy to move in and it didn't cover him completely, just where it needed to be and the rest was the same gold coloured fur that was on his arms. He leaned over feeling like he was going to throw up, and reached his right arm out, he then felt something solid in that hand and when he looked he saw that he was being supported by a tall cudgel staff, he moved his hand away and it dissipated into the air.
"Holy shit, they always said I acted like a monkey enough I would become one but this is insane!" He said in a much lower, guttural tone that sounded like a low growl. "Even my voice has changed!" He yelled.
He then stopped to think what he should try next and the idea came to him, he squatted down thought for a second and pushed up trying to jump as high as he could. When his feet left the ground his soared far higher than he could have imagined. He laughed for he felt it was the only thing he could do, then after a time he came back down, maybe this place isn't real, maybe it's not earth and has a different gravity than normal he thought as he fell. As he began falling down from the sky he couldn't help but wonder. I wonder if I'm immortal here...oh shit what if I'm not! He thought losing his concentration of how far down to the ground he was, realizing it was to late he just closed his eyes and landed with a giant thud that made a crater of a few metres where he landed. Dirt flew up into the sky from the impact, Kintaro grunted in pain. Oh! so I'm not impervious to pain, that's good to know. But I am also not dead and that is also good to know! As he rolled over and took a few deep breaths as the dirt from the impact fell on him, he just lied there and couldn't help but laugh loudly, wherever he was it sure was a different and he felt like he was going to like it here. Then something snapped, his joints ah man that would be a shame if he lost them, he felt around himself and found a metal case hidden in his armour, he opened it up and saw them. He breathed out heavily again, now he could put up living here. He then began to think of what else was possible in this world, or if other people were even around here like him, he figured he should go searching but for right now he was fine just laying down in his crater.
