Name: William Thompson Age: 24 Race: Human Gender: Male Height: 5'10 Build: Muscular/Lean
Hair Colour: Black Hair Style: Short Dreadlocks Skin Colour: Umber Eye Colour: Brown Facial Hair Style: Dashing Rogue Facial Hair Colour: Black
Strengths: William is intelligent, strong willed, charismatic (to certain types), physically fit, possesses a slight knowledge of medicine and is proficient in hand to hand and small arms combat.
Weaknesses: He has difficulty sleeping, has trouble backing down (from fights and arguments) and is constantly questioning (orders, ideas, people, groups) which can lead to trouble.
Personality: An intelligent man with a constant hunger for new knowledge, William's mind is constantly racing. He enjoys discussion and debate and is always trying to improve upon himself, whether that be physically, mentally or both. He is generally kind and generous, but doesn't at all believe in turning the other cheek, instead believing self defense to be a human right. He values personal and spiritual freedom and will defend his own and others should the occasion arise.
Background: William was raised as part of the Railroad faction, his father being a doctor and his mother being a field operative within the same cell. As a result the majority of his childhood was spent indoors, reading books, exercising (an enforced chore his parents insisted upon to make up for never being outdoors) and occasionally helping his father fix up somebody's wounds. As a kid William didn't know what he wanted to do within the faction, but he did know he would have to be smart and physically capable to cover his options. So he read his father's books and trained in what his mother called silat, tutored by her in between her operations. He followed this routine until he was fourteen and their safe house was attacked by the Institute. It was a massacre. Only he and one other member survived, and she succumbed to her wounds not too long after.
After that William was on his own. He couldn't make contact with The Railroad. He didn't know how to and even if he did they wouldn't be able to take him as the chance of him being a replacement was too high. So he eventually found himself in Goodneighbour, hungry and alone. Fortunately for him, he managed to befriend a local Ghoul named Daisy, primarily due to their shared love of books. Daisy allowed him to sleep in her store and read her collection of books and in return he ran errands around the settlement for her. During this time he continued to train in Silat, acquire and read new books and train with firearms in order to help better protect Daisys store in the violent community. This lasted for about five years until William being the ever curious lad that he was decided he wanted to see more of the Commonwealth and with Daisy's help joined up with a trader caravan in order to fulfill his wish and fund himself.
His life as a caravan guard lasted until about two weeks ago when the caravan he was serving with came under heavy attack from Nuka-World raiders and the merchant and all four of the other guards were shot and killed. William himself was winged and shot back as he retreated and eventually ran from the ambush site. He ran for miles, eventually making it to Diamond city where he was patched up.
Belongings: Flannel Shirt and Jeans Leather Armour (Torso, Shoulders and Lower Legs) Remington 870 (On Sling) S&W Handgun (9mm – Holster - Right Hip) USMC KA-BAR Knife Courier Bag Purified Water (Three Bottles) Bandages Needle and Thread 153 Caps
Reason for Agreeing: The caravan he was protecting was attacked and slaughtered by Nuka-World raiders. He’d been a friend of the merchant for almost five years. Before that he’d heard rumours throughout the wasteland of farms and even settlements being attacked by the same group. People were going to have to do something about it and if the things he’d been hearing were correct the minutemen were the ones stepping up. He could help, so he would.
