@Cio Minor edit in my last post, Evren calls Beck by her first name. That's only important because Beck hates that but Evren is kind of dense and kind of stubborn... and he likes the name Hannelore a lot lol.
@Eviledd1984 okay cool, thank you. And on his cs it says he has tattoos... did Josuke?
“Quite a legend, Aava.” Evren said, quite stunned after hearing her story. He was quite sure he knew what became of that girl, and he was in equal measure awed and horrified by the magic of this place.
He considered Aava’s offer and hesitantly outstretched his hand to meet the tips of her fingers against the rocks. He didn’t quite hold her hand, it was looser than that, more a clumsy grasp at contact with someone who might be a little like him. He withdrew as soon as he’d reached out, getting to his feet and casting his gaze out to the lake. It sounded too good to be true. Hell, it was too good to be true; there was no escaping what he was, not even for a moment. Every step he’d taken in these hundreds of years had only made him more aware of the monster he was, of the judging watch he was under with every life he took. Even knowing all that… the water looked inviting. It wouldn’t work, but, perhaps he could just try and feel something else today. His waterlogged clothes felt heavy against his false frame. God, anything else.
Evren smiled at Aava; a bit weary, a bit defeated, a bit good humored. ”Okay, little fish; I’ll come join you.” Without disrobing or discarding his ruined clothes he took a few steps into the water until he was waist deep in the glassy lake, hard-soled shoes clumsily finding purchase against the mud rocks. His smile widened and grew mischievous, and finding himself waist-deep in the water he dove forward and plunged fully beneath the glassy surface. Certainly a much more pleasant swim than his first.

The younger cop cuffed Hayato and stonily read him his rights, leading him over to the cruiser until the detective called out another order.
"No, Holt; put him in my vehicle. You two take the other."
Holt nodded tersely and pushed the werewolf into the detective's duotone Crown Vic. Dutifully, Booth marched over to the pair on the ground and pulled Evren to his feet and cuffed him. He largely ignored Aava's grabs and protests, brushing her aside quite easily as Evren froze in panic and began pleading with the officer. "Let me go! She needs me, and I need her! You don't know anything about her!"
Sheridan stepped between Aava and the apprehended vampire to keep her from interfering further, when Beck approached her and cautiously touched her shoulder. "Sher, this kid can't speak any English and the only person she knows is getting arrested. Let him talk to her, and I'll take her to the hospital and keep an eye on her. You know she can't afford the ambulance anyway, and you don't want to wait around for one."
"Do you know these two?" The detective gave her a suspicious look.
"Not the girl, no, but I've interviewed this guy before. I don't... he's not a bad guy, Sher. That's my word."
The detective mulled this over for a few seconds, looking a bit doubtful of the pleading vigilante, but finally sighed and turned her attention to Booth. "Let him calm her down. I'm taking the other one back to the station." She cast a stern glare at her subordinates and turned on her heel to return to her car, sitting in the driver's seat and keeping a wary eye on the situation she was leaving behind. The detective started the car and reversed back onto the road, and drove into town toward the police station.
Booth relaxed his grip on Evren somewhat, who looked wildly at those around him before his eyes settled on Aava. "Aava..." he gasped out the syllables like it was an involuntary action, vacillating from icy panic to a desperate sort of sadness as he caught his breath. "(They won't hurt us, I swear. I'll come back to you. Go with Hannelore, this woman, she's a friend. Do not hunt, do not eat any of these mortals; we aren't so powerful here, if we hunt again they'll kill us both.)"
Evren trailed off just slightly and broke eye contact, choking back tears of shame over the situation he'd put them in. His attention snapped back to the näkki as telltale tears formed at the corners of his eyes. "(I'll come back for you, I'm not going to abandon you again. Do you understand?)"

Detective Merit glanced at Hayato in her rearview mirror. Even the most hardened were softened somewhat behind the bulletproof divider in the vehicle. "Interesting tattoos." she remarked cooly, returning her gaze to the quiet cobblestone streets. The streetlights had just turned off, leaving the world dim and blue in the rising dawn.
@Eviledd1984 So maybe I missed this and you said it already, but, what is Hayato wearing right now? Is he wearing anything, did transforming tear his clothes off? That's the implication I've kind of picked up and I went with in the most recent post, but if that's wrong I can change it. My ADHD is so bad, I apologize (;^^)
@Cio@Eviledd1984

The officer gave Hayato a bit of an odd look; the man was near nude, but didn’t look injured. Certainly didn’t look like he’d been attacked. From the police cruiser the radio chattered out an update about a young man who’d been shot in the head and found in an empty lot, but the older cop silenced it and walked over to join his partner.
“Killed your friend?” He asked, intrigued. “What bar were you at?”
The younger man seemed to tense some and interjected. “What’s your name, sir? I don’t suppose you have any ID on you.”

“She can’t speak English!” Evren explained again, frustrated with the lieutenant. He could see Aava was getting nervous, as if pleading for help she couldn’t articulate a need for. “Please. I’m her friend and I can communicate with her; she’s hurt and… very ill, and I just want to take her home.”
“I only want to help you do just that. How did your friend get hurt?” Detective Lieutenant Merit seemed to finally understand Aava was noncommunicative, but one way or another she wanted answers. Evren took a timid moment to answer her.
“The wolf chased us out of town. I carried Aava, and he threw a rock and practically knocked her out.” He looked beyond the detective for just a moment to stare daggers at Hayato. If the yakuza man wanted to kill him, so be it; but Aava didn’t even understand what was going on. From his perspective, Hayato had no right to harm Aava, and thinking about this quelled his anger and grounded him again with concern for his friend. He opened his mouth to speak again but was interrupted when Beck returned and gave the detective her camera.
Sheridan Merit stood up and took the camera, playing back the footage. An incredibly tense, nearly silent minute passed as she watched with careful eyes, until a muffled gunshot and Beck yelling marked the end of the video. She sighed and looked from the pair on the ground, to Hayato and the beat cops, and finally back to Beck and handed back the camera.
“You know we need to take this in as evidence?”
“Yeah yeah, I’ll take the SD card out.”
“What about us??” Evren asked, not sounding as calm as he’d have liked. The mention of anything being ‘taken in’ made him uneasy. He took Aava’s hand in his and tried to pull her a bit closer. “If you’re taking us anywhere… just take her to a hospital. He hit her in the head.”
Lieutenant Merit took the SD card from Beck, who pocketed her camera. ”I saw that, but I don’t think we’re done.” she directed her attention to the cops. ”Booth, Holt, cuff both the men. I’ve seen all I need to see here.”
Working on a reply now, it’s quite long and work has been wild. Sorry for the delay 💫
@Eviledd1984 it’s okay!! I just like to have some details when replying. Thank you!!
@Eviledd1984 So did Hayato tell the beat cops about the murder? If he did can you add some dialogue to your post so we can know what he said?
@Cio I knew the water wouldn’t be evident, but it did happen, and Hayato telling the cops that at least won’t be the most outlandish thing they’ve ever heard.
Also I got mixed up and thought she threw the rock?? I literally don’t know how I did that. Just completely screwed up, will be more careful. 💫 Sorry.
