"Sure, then let us—Woah! Is that true?" As Nanoha began to fly away after agreeing to scout the area with Youmu, the silver-haired girl said something totally unbelievable. Well, not totally, totally unbelievable but certainly it was something Nanoha have never heard about before.

"So... you're saying that this cloud-like thing is... part of you?" Nanoha asked. Maybe it was like how Reinforce was a part of the Tome of the Night Sky? Or maybe, like how familiars are linked to their creators? That was very curious. Nanoha felt inclined to ask if she could touch it or something like this, but... wouldn't that be rude, if Youmu's story was true?

However, any thoughts of analyzing her partner's ghostly half were set aside as soon as Raising Heart located more life signs nearby. They had magical signatures as well but—just as she expected—Nanoha couldn't recognize their patterns. "I think there's someone else over there. We should go take a look, I don't think they are locals but, it's possible they know what happening here," she pointed the way to Youmu before flying towards a certain foxy schoolgirl and a green elf.
"Youkai? Like tsukumogami, tengu, and ghosts?" Nanoha asked in a surprised voice. Could it be that there was a dimension out there where these kinds of legends were true? "It's been a while ever since I heard about anything so curious. If I could, I would like to see it with my own eyes someday," she said, making her amazement known.

"Anyway, if your mission is to investigate this place, would you like to team up, Miss Youmu? Together we might be able to find... something?" Nanoha said before turning Raising Heart back into its Standby Form—which sprouted a pair of light wings and began to float around her—before extending her left hand to Youmu.
Nanoha continued to soar the skies of the unknown world, recording everything she came across.

The wind hitting her face was cool and gentle—peaceful, even. But, the ruined state of the land made it seem more like the kind of peaceful feeling you'd have while visiting a graveyard, than that which you'd have by spending a night in the mountains. They were not unrelated feelings, but one had a solemnity that the other lacked.

The red-haired mage couldn't help but feel that she was threading into sacred ground as she continued her mission.

Nanoha wasn't aware of how much time had passed until she finally came across something that was neither ruins nor grassland. In fact, it looked like another human—a girl?—was standing in the distance right as she flew over another hill.

"A local?" Nanoha thought, wondering whether or not she should conceal her magic before approaching.

Her doubts, however, didn't last long. Both of which being dispelled the moment the girl zoomed towards her, flying at a speed that caught Nanoha off-guard for a moment before introducing herself, and asking whether or not Nanoha was a resident of this world.

"Mmm, mmm..." Nanoha brought a hand to her chest and shook her head. "I'm sorry but I'm not. My name's Takamachi Nanoha, a mage from another world named Earth. And this is my friend, Raising Heart. We are here as representatives of the Time and Space Administration Bureau's Tokyo Branch, investigating a strange anomaly, in the shape of a door, that appeared in our world," she followed through, introducing herself with a courteous bow, and stating her situation in the most concise way possible.

"Based on your question a moment ago, can I take it that you are not a native of this world as well, Miss Konpaku? If that's the case, would you mind answering how is it that you got yourself in this situation and what's your purpose here?" Nanoha asked. As she waited for an answer, she couldn't help but analyse the other girl with her eyes, trying to understand what kind of magic she used. Could it have anything to do with that fluffy, cloud-like thing floating around her?
"Are you sure that you want to investigate this incident alone, Nanoha? We can call in Fate, or ask Hayate to send Vita if you want reinforcements," Chrono said. The current director of Earth's division of the TSAB called Nanoha after they found themselves with a new unexpected mystery in their hands.

Out of nowhere a seemingly harmless door manifested itself in their Tokyo HQ. That phenomenon by itself would already be enough to warrant suspicion but the fact that, on further analysis, it was revealed that the door was a dimensional portal with coordinates to an unadministered, and unknown world. These circumstances asked for them to send a scout to see how things were in the other side but the only available one was Nanoha since everyone else was either deployed in missions of their own, or undergoing training.

One thing led to another and now, here was she, standing ready to step into the unknown.

"Don't worry Chrono, I'll call for reinforcements if things get too dangerous. For the time being, I could use a little walk," Nanoha said as she pulled the door open and took a step inside.

A moment later, she would see herself in an alien landscape, barren and ruined. "This reminds me of Eltria..." she reminisced for a moment as her mind turned to her friends who, even now, were giving their best to restore their formerly dying world. "Anyway, Captain Takamachi and Raising Heart will begin the reconnaissance mission right now!" she announced back to mission control back on Earth, before taking to the skies of this strange world to try and find anything worthy of note.
"Oh? Is that so? That's quite a shame since I was considering inviting you for lunch, and perhaps, offering a reward if you could help solve this case. If being in the good graces of the Imperium's Justice won't entice you, having a head start in your treasure hunt certainly will, right?" A rather soft, almost cheery voice coming from the direction the group was walking said as Rose attempted to excuse herself and walk away.

The soldiers that accompanied Lorelai stopped dead on their tracks as none other than The head of the Imperium's Justice, Lady Asgard, the Crimson Knight, walked towards them. With a wave of her hand, she commanded them to be at rest before they could drop to their knees and bow. "I see that you've missed the thief but found some very interesting people, right Lorelai?" she said to the—no doubt overenthused—knight riding on the back of the great war while guiding the newcomers.

"Now then, would you join me at the table while we explain the situation to you? It must have been quite frustrating to be mistaken as criminals right as you arrived. Please, allow me to rectify it," Eleonor said in a softspoken voice, demonstrating that she was well-aware of everything that happened as soon as the Black Pentacle arrived in the village. She might be no Yggdrasil, but the Crimson Knight had her own means of keeping up with the flow of information.
"They say that dead men tell no tales. But, when the graves themselves have mouths, one can never be too careless, right?" A voice coming from the darkness beyond Lyn said in a nonchalant manner not long before the crack of a gun echoed in the night. One, two, three, ..., six shots, and six blasted tombstones later, the owner of the voice came into their field of view.

The woman who seemed to appear from within the darkness itself had a pale—nay, greish—complexion, ashen hair, and eyes the color of rich burgundy wine. If her Victorian style dress, along with the one too many belts she had as accessories, didn't make her stand out as an inhabitant of this real, the smoking antique revolver and the mysterious "case" she carried would. She was certainly a sight to behold, especially as she moved down the cleared lane between her and Lyn before stepping on Caprice's half-eaten stairway.

"That was impressive of you," she said after holstering her gun before tipping her hat at the fighter. "I take it that your lot have just arrived to this world, haven't you? It's very rare to see new people who can deal with this kind of stuff without freaking out. Anyway, here goes a free pro tip: Those graves are like the guard dogs of this place. Do you know what happens when intruders make a ruckus while breaking in, don't you?" the woman said to Lyn just as the sound of another fresh wave of graves crawling towards them became noticeable from the dark.

"The name's Maria by the way. You guys can count yourselves lucky for running into me out of all Hunters," she said as she nonchalantly climbed the steps towards Caprice and Sherry, leaving Lyn behind in case the fighter still felt like punching out some more tombs.
The Arena
"Hah! You talk a lot but in the end you can't handle the heat, right Horseface?" Mordred taunted in her usual coarse language as Chiron sidestepped her opening blow. Crimson lightning cracked within the dust cloud as Mordred eyed the Archer with fury.

"Why do I need to bother with technique if I turn my enemies into a bloody pulp with the first strike?" Mordred answered. "Anyone who challenges the Great Mordred is fate to lose, even if I'm defeated, I'll still take them down with me!" she shouted before lunging back at Chiron only to be met with a throw from the waiting Archer.

Even though she could not redirect her own momentum in this little space and stop his attack, Mordred still countered him with a headbut, using all the power she could muster to hit the Archer with her helmet as she was about to be sent flying.

Now that she could take a better look at the old man in front of them, Othis finally recognized him from the city's Servant database. While there wasn't much information regarding his identity and skills—perhaps it had been erased?—there was enough for her to formulate a deduction about his identity mainly because of the coat of arms he wore in one picture.

Seeing Holmes' reaction all but confirmed her guess but there was still a matter of making her deduction known to the pair of old archnemeses.

"I'm Othianne Phorensia Obberhausen, an envoy of the Atlas Institute. I would prefer if you called me Holmes' partner. I can't possibly be the Master of the World's Greatest Consultant Detective, after all," Othis said in her typical nonchalant monotone before extending a hand to the old man. "It's a pleasure to meet an influential mathematician like you, Professor. I'm a great admirer of your works," she added a moment later, testing if her theory was correct.

Takamachi Nanoha the "Ace of Aces", a.k.a. "The White Devil"
• Gender:
Female
• Personality:
Nanoha is likely one of the most cheerful and friendly persons you can ever meet. She's always willing listen to someone else's problems. Nevertheless, she's as stubborn as a mule, once she puts something on her head, she'll not give up on it, no matter the hardships she has to endure to achieve that goal. She's also, quite hmm... proactive when it comes be it fighting or trying to befriend people. This trait of hers is a reflex of the one time Nanoha failed to stop a crisis before it happened because she took it as game. Ever since that day she vowed to never let that happen again, even at the cost of putting herself at harm's way. However, she'll never throw her life away to do so. After the most recent incident she has been involved with, Nahoha made a promise to herself that she shouldn't make anyone else cry. Even if she cannot come to love herself and overcome her own self doubts just yet, throwing her life away in a battle would make those dear to her sad and this is something Nanoha absolutely can't allow to happen.
• Brief History:
A self-taught genius that has a natural knack for magic unseen in any of the people from her magically backwards homeworld. Nanoha came into contact with the world of magic by accident, after rescuing a wounded animal that happened to be mage from another world. After some contrived circumstances involving a monster attack she joined him —at first unwillingly— on his quest to seal the dangerous relics known as Jewel Seed, one of the many items known as Lost Logia.
It didn't take long for Nanoha to develop an interest on the world of magic, which was only intensified after she met Fate Testarossa, another interdimensional mage. At first, the two of them were rivals fighting for the same objective but with different goals. After 'setting their differences aside', the duo became inseparable friends. Putting an end to the sadness involving their meeting and the Jewel Seed incident.
Soon enough another crisis threatened the very existence of Earth. Nanoha and Fate teamed up again and fought against and together with the source of the crisis. In the end, the world was saved once more. Peace wouldn't last forever, though. At this point one can only wonder what other hardships are waiting them and their friends in the future. Whatever it's Nanoha is ready for it.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
• Equipment:
Intelligent Device: Raising Heart Excelion
Formula Cannon & Fortress System (Mode F)
• Abilities:
One of the youngest, and certainly one of the most talented, mages to ever achieve the title of Ace, Nanoha is considered a special case even by the most talented authorities of her homeworld. Her abilities as Bombardment magic specialist are second to none, coupled with the ability to fly (a rather rare skill that only the best mages can ever hope to master) and monstrous endurance make Nanoha a foe to be reckoned. She can sustain and dish out damage at a level most others in her world can only dream of achieve. Her heavy focus on ranged attacks, protection and binding spells limit Nanoha's ability to fight in melee range to —really— brute force attacks most of the time, but she's not to underestimated either thanks to her sheer tankiness. The reason why Nanoha has such a focus on endurance is easy to understand, her biggest trump card, the Starlight Breaker, gets progressively more powerful the longer a battle lasts.

"Your question is a good one. We cannot detect any great irregularities from here, and there are even signs of other lifeforms spread around the city but it's certainly curious that you've never come across anyone else so far," Kiara said, answering Rosa's monologue.

"As for the Servant around your current location... we cannot observe it directly, thanks to all the interference so you'll have to rely on your own instincts about how to proceed. However, after analyzing your visual feedback, we could come to a few conclusion," she said as the transmission shifted to a screen revealing pretty much only static and blurred data in the place where the unknown Servant's data was supposed to be located. "As you can see, pretty much all of her data is unreadable. The only conclusion is that the enemy has either a skill or Noble Phantasm that hides her identity and parameters. Take that into consideration when you think about your next course of action."

"Alright, let's do this!" Mordred said when her attention was called back to her own battle.

She rose Clarent in an overhead stance as she glared at Chiron. The sudden spike in the hostility coming from her would be noticeable even when she was wearing her helmet. A moment later, she burst forward leaving a crack of crimson lightning behind her as she jumped high up and used her Mana Burst to propel herself back towards Chiron like a vengeful bolt from the gods he was acquainted with.

If Lancelot was the apex of refinement between the Knights of the Round Table, Mordred was the apex of brute force. Crashing down on her enemies like a raging torrent. Knowing that both Seira and her Father were watching her at this moment made was to go even further beyond her normal self.
