"I apologise, you may have to guide me by the hand through this school for now. I hope that's all right with you,"

Ack! Was this girl kidding?! That level of skinship isn't good for Elise's heart! A little handholding isn't a big deal but for some reason it made her anxious. "Oh its no problem at all. I was just killing time, and I should be getting back to unpack anyways. You can check in front of the dorms. They'll give you your room number and key there. Who knows we might be roommates haha." She extended her hand out to Isabelle, gently grasping her hand. Elise could feel herself blushing, her heart beating just a hair faster.

"Do you have a match?"

"Oh, um, no. I suppose there aren't many people compatible with me, hehe." As they talked Elise lead Isabelle hand-in-hand to the dorms. If she new she would be meeting people she would've dressed nicer than a lazy t-shirt, and actually use some makeup. She just hoped he didn't look like a complete slob. "So do you have a match? What kind of person are you hoping for?"

It was almost like a scene out of a romantic comedy. A guy who looked vaguely familiar (Damian) did the "pretend to know you" schtick to drive Gabriel away. Elise just nodded along letting Damian do his thing. She was glad Gabriel was out of the picture, but now she had to deal with Damian. Hopefully he didn't get the idea that she owed him one, or that she is a damsel in distress. She doesn't and she isn't. But he left as quickly as he came. Elise gave him a nod of gratitude before returning to her drink. So much trouble over nothing. Maybe if she went with a more goth look that would scare people away, but that might scare away the girls. If only there was some kind of horny-guy repellant.

Elise was just about to leave when a girl approached her. Holy guacamole, why would a girl this cute just engage her? Is this her moment to shine? Whatever she does, don't be a dork don't be a dork don't be a dork.

"Hello," she said, formally, stiffly. "I'm new, and I've just arrived. I'm afraid I haven't the faintest clue where to go from here."

Aww, yes. That makes sense. Either way, Elise wasn't going to not help her out. "My name's Elise" she said, shaking the girl's hand. Elise had some height on the girl, which only made Isabelle look cuter. "I just moved in myself, actually. So, umm, where are you looking to go? I'll walk you there! This campus is pretty big, its easy to get lost."

Okay, so, Elise was totally checking out the barista girl now. Its not her fault, the girl made eye contact with her. It's destiny! Maybe not. But she was still super cute. While she was distracted by barista girl's allure, the pretty boy whom she totally forgot about snuck up on her. Was he a ninja or something?

"My name is Gabriel, what's your's hun?"

Aww geez, here we go. The simplest solution is to just turn him down, but he seems like the annoyingly persistent type that doesn't take no for an answer. She could tell him she's gay, but he might try to "convert" her, or ask for a three way. For some reason a lot of guys can't grasp the concept of "lesbian". So in situations like these, sometimes Elise likes to tell a little white lie.

"I uhh, actually have a boyfriend. He's a boxer. And he gets jealous easily. Super easily. So umm, yeah. I'm not single, at all."

Elise could unpack her things, or she could go ahead and not do that. The sun was still up, it would be a shame to waste daylight like that. So instead she went out to explore the campus, which was a lot more spacious than she expected. Next time she'd have to bring her skateboard. But for now she could enjoy a nice stroll by herself, without anyone else, completely solo and independent. Not that there was anything wrong with being single, Elise just really really really wants a galpal. Preferably one who likes cats.

Pretty soon she made it to the cafe and ordered a frappuccino. And the barista was super cute and totally asked Elise for her name. Okay so maybe that was just to let her know when her drink was ready, she shouldn't get ahead of herself so fast. She took a seat and browsed thru the match app again. Not that she cared about the opinion of an algorithm designed by some random dudes; but after hearing the Match Program get so much praise she thought she'd at least get one match. Maybe she'd get more results if she changed her profile pic.

Eventually she noticed some pretty-boy (Gabriel) sitting by a window. She couldn't tell if he was checking her out or just looking in her direction. She peeked over her shoulder a couple times but still couldn't tell. As long he doesn't come hit on her. That would be the worse.

"Hmph" Elise puffed, marching towards the dorms wearing a stuffed backpack and carrying a cardboard box full of her personal belongings. She has been enrolled since the beginning of the school year, but due to personal circumstances had to miss the past few weeks. She was kinda excited to get a fresh start, things have been a bit awkward between her and her best friend after the confession. But this time things would be different. This time she was staying in a dorm, and dorm full of girls! There had to be at least a few girls who likes girls somewhere in this school!

Elise frowned when she saw the uninviting staircase ahead of her. It took an annoying amount of effort, but she finally made it to her dorm and plopped down on her new bed. Her roommates weren't there, probably checking out the match making thing. Even though she thought is was silly and pointless, she saw no harm in signing up for fun. She whipped out her phone and opened up the Match Program app to check her status.

Well... that's reassuring. At least she didn't get matched with a guy.
