Alright! That really came together rather quickly. With four characters, I think we can actually get something started. The scenario that I've been working on is as follows, and please keep in mind that I'd rather this be more collaborative than simply me telling you what's going on, because it's more fun if everyone's in on the creation process:
The Continental, which has stood for decades as a haven for those of The Code, is going to come under attack. A syndicate, led by a rather passionate individual, has decided that Management must be removed, and new order must be established.
Some characters may be fully in favor of being "under new management," while others are likely to be loyal to those who have kept them protected for years. The attacks may start as minor assassinations, or evidence of The Continental's one rule being broken. (I was thinking starting an assassin story with an assassination would be appropriate.)
This all will not be clearly laid-out for everyone immediately (there's no big "we're under attack" alarm in The Continental), so the beginning of these attacks should provide plenty of opportunity for betrayals, questioned loyalties, new allies, new enemies, and all the fun stuff that makes for good roleplay-ness.
As well, most of the assassins in this world aren't exactly panicky, but instead seem to consider much of their work as simply "their job." The questions usually go "Hey, are you working again?" "Nah, I'm just taking care of some stuff."
Panic isn't really in their repertoire most of the time, so it'd be interesting to see what they start to do when their usual status quo is actively threatened.
Anyway, I figured that we'll kind of take it from there and see how things start to play out.
What do you guys think of that?
