Oh what Ritual Beasts seriously. I thought them topping against Nekroz would deter people from taking them on lol. I'm done with Volcanic/ FK character, I just need to write up Bujins/Geargiakuris next.
Wait they did O_O? I didn't even know about this. I mean, I did hear that they performed well at a tournament somewhere but that's about it. I did happen to beat Nekroz in a tag duel though, but that's because I managed to get out a Clear Wing Synchro Dragon which fucked Trishula up BAD xD! Anyway, I've been doing a lot of play testing with them (they're pretty much already one of my favorite decks to use) and despite their crazy banish - special spamming, they aren't completely overwhelming. I also know this because I've played against them a couple of times before (one of the decks I used was Fire Kings) and the duels were pretty even, same with the win-loss ratio for both of us. Their trap card though... it's basically a Moralltach in trap form since it doesn't target, but this is their main form of monster removal in the case that their rather standard attack isn't enough. But yes. Ritual Beasts. Any other surprises I might not have heard of :p?
So PKMNBOY, how are your new characters coming along? Will anyone else be changing their characters? I plan to use Lyall again if that's of any interest to anyone. I might make a second character that uses Ritual Beasts, though this character would likely be a girl and I've never RPd a girl before xD.
Hmm... can anybody explain to me how XYZ or synchro works? Didn't really give a thought since those were concepts of different authors, and I only respect the original author, but then, for the sake of gameplay >.< ...
I usually use the XYZ mechanic, so I'll try to explain. This is a pretty common XYZ monster. Instead of a Level, it has a Rank, indicated by the yellow stars coming from the left side of the card as opposed from the right. In Utopia's case, he is a Rank 4 monster that, as indicated by the "2 Level 4 Monsters" on its card, will require exactly two monsters on the field whose levels are 4 to be placed on top of each other (overlaying) in order to be summoned. Those monsters then become XYZ Materials and can be detached from the monster to activate its effect. On that note, other XYZ monsters might require monsters of different levels (Constellar Pleiades) or more than two monsters to be overlayed (Evilswarm Ouroboros). Also, XYZ monsters come from the Extra Deck. Synchro Summoning is a bit more complicated. Here's an iconic Synchro monster. As you can see, its card reads "1 Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner monsters". A tuner monster is a type of monster specifically used for synchro summoning and, like all other non-XYZ monsters, has a level. The level of the tuner and the level of the non-tuner both have to add up to exactly equal the level of the synchro monster you're trying to summon (8 in Stardust's case). You send the monsters (known as Synchro material) to the grave, and bam, Synchro monster from the extra deck. Like with XYZ, there are other Synchros that are more complicated to pull off. Some require specific monsters or monster types to be used as a material, and others require things like 2 tuners to be used. Learning the (sort of) new mechanics might seem a bit daunting, but its not too hard to get the hang of. Once you do though, you might find that you like it and begin to make decks centered around bringing out these kinds of monsters.
So uh.... why is the girl getting her neck snapped xD?
Will do, hopefully the reboot will be up and ready soon, I can't wait for it to start up again and see what develops. Trains are a powerful and effective deck. They're a decent challenge for any duelist, so much that this image is needed: :p Also PKMNBOY, I have to ask. What exactly is going on in your signature gif? You know, aside from the fact that some girl is getting her neck snapped by what seems to be an angry teacher xD.
We'll be starting a reboot soon, by the way. What I think we'll be doing for the new one is start right at the Khan's announcement telling everyone to duel (it will also be the first day of the tournament). This time duels will be regular ones, no special conditions involved (that we know of).
Oh, I like Fire Kings :D! They're the third deck I run irl.
Maybe Machina-Gear?
So I was about to make the new thread when it hit me... How are we going to do this? Just start completely over and basically speed run our way up to this point again? Or re RP the whole thing? Because if we received a new member let's say, and our IC just starts with the announcement it's kind of.... meh.
I thought that we were just going to start at the Khan's "K everyone duel each other" announcement :/. I personally don't see anything wrong with starting this way, all we need to do is explain that our current members' duelists have been at Regno for a few days, have been dueling every now and then since they've been there, but just now are beginning to get into the actual tournament and plot for the RP. It actually might be helpful for new members for the RP to start in the middle of things, that way they can immediately get in on the action or have an opening for their character to approach and interact with another one.
Hooray, time to draft up a character to use them with! You think Geargiagear should be allowed at 3 in the deck if someone (namely, me) chooses to run it? Auger's been released and all that, so... I'm not sure of the resolution myself- more of a rulings and monotonous work kind of guy lol. Edit: 'more than one' may be an appropriate fix.
Geargias seem alright by me, but what resolutions and "more than one" are you talking about? Geargiagear itself though, that should be kept at 1.
