Hey! A fellow Alaskan! Happy to have you join me, and thanks for the point with regards to the super mutants. My thinking behind them is that they (somehow, however unlikely it may be but somehow) made it up from the lower 48, and are incredibly similar to the Mariposa mutants, both in looks and level of intelligence. Some differences might show up in their appearance if they, for example, hunt and use the furs as warmer clothes instead of just using leather like their southern brethren.
Do you have any suggestions on how to change them to fit more seamlessly into the lore?
I will admit I haven't thought out the Ghouls or Super Mutants very clearly, my main focus was really on the factions and setting up the general backstory, so any help with that would be appreciated.
In the Winter of 2066, Anchorage was fought over and taken by the Chinese. It was taken back on January 10, 2077, then abandoned almost completely. Those who remained struggled to rebuild their broken society, and the first major faction within Anchorage was born. The loyal band of followers, formed under the care of the Fairview family, was aptly named the Fairview Followers. This band of wanderers thrived in the few months before the Great War, and even after the radioactive dust from the nukes in the southern states cleared, the people of Fairview continued to live happily in their little corner of the world, occupying much of downtown Anchorage and providing people a safe place to rest on their journey, or even make their home.
Alaska remained mostly untouched by the nuclear fallout that ruined the rest of the country, why that is is certainly not a mystery. Anchorage had already been beat into the ground, and most of the buildings had been reduced to not much more than piles of rubble, so it’s no surprise that China decided not to waste any more of their precious weapons on an already ruined city. The shockwaves from the bombs hit Anchorage, but most people in Alaska are no strangers to earthquakes, though these were, decidedly, a bit higher on the Richter Scale than the normal quakes.
It was in the months to come that the dangers of post-apocalyptia became apparent. Though radiation levels in the very center of Anchorage were moderate, the rest of the city remained relatively safe from rad damage, until the rain began to fall. Throughout the month of November the entire state was submerged in a torrential downpour of black rain, which came up from the south, and saturated the soil in radiation, increasing the radiation levels throughout the land.
When the radioactive downpour finally ceased, Anchorage had lost many more citizens, and -save for a select few that were preserved from the rain- those who hadn’t perished were so soaked with radiation that they would be transformed into ghouls over time.
Years after the rain had washed the rubble of the once bright beacon that was Anchorage, a new creature began to make it’s presence known among the townspeople. It crept in the shadows, preying on unsuspecting citizens, both human and ghoul alike. The bodies were never found, but many have ideas on where in the wastes they may have been taken away to. Vault 113, one of two vaults around Anchorage, seemed to be the most popular opinion, though none were brave enough to make the journey and find out. Rumor hinted at the vault being off the west coast of Anchorage, on what used to be Fire Island, back before the war.
The island sure was a fiery one during the battle. The entire landscape could be seen from the mainland, and was engulfed in a glowing red haze of smoke with the occasional lick of flame visible amongst the burning timbers. Embers, still hot from the fire, drifted from the island all the way to the mainland, littering the ground in ash, and causing miniature blazes in dry patches on the coast. When the fires faded and the smoke cleared, the only thing that seemed to remain of the island was a blank black landscape, speckled with the skeletons of trees and piles of charred lumber from what used to be cabins used by hunters.
The island seems to be uninhabited now, but it's unknown if creatures still roam there.

Attacks are growing more frequent, and whatever is lurking in the shadows is becoming increasingly careless- leaving mangled bodies behind. They litter the streets, and more turn up dead each week. The problem has caused the factions to team up, selecting members to participate in a potentially deadly mission of discovery. It's assumed that whatever the creature is, it originated somewhere on Fire Island. The team's job is to make their way across the Northern Wastes, and then find a way to cross the stretch of water separating the mainland from the island. Finally they are to search the island for answers and return to their respective factions, hopefully with answers, and a plan to take out the creature.

This roleplay does not stay completely true to canon. It is set in the Fallout Universe, and takes place about 200 years after the war ended.

Right now I'm really just looking for input on the plot, and seeing if there's any interest for this kind of roleplay. Thanks for reading and please comment with questions or comments! -K
Hate to break it to you guys but I'm out to, not that I had posted anything. I'm looking for a more... idealistic slice of life, and this is not what I was hoping for. Have fun though.
@CherriesJubilee I'll wait. I've got all day free tomorrow too so I'm good with being patient.
Name: Ryleigh Fairchild

Age & Grade: 17, Senior

Appearance: Ry's skin is a warm mocha color, a nod to her mixed-race background; her cool chocolate brown curls reach down to her waist and are usually brought to order by way of a messy bun piled atop her head, and her eyes are hazel in color, usually staying a greenish-copper tone, though really it depends on the weather. She stands about 5'8" and has a willowy frame, with long toned legs, a short torso, and a small chest. Overall her physique is not overly thin, but more on the athletic and healthy side, with her fair share of curves in (most of) the right places. She considers herself to be decently attractive, in a natural and feminine way, and she stays as far away as possible from makeup, save for her favorite watermelon flavored lip gloss that resides in her book bag and is never very far away- for easy reapplication whenever she feels like she needs a touch up. Her style is eclectic, though most would call it bohemian with a modern twist. She tends to pair mixed patterns in a variety of colors with classy blazers and modern stylistic jewelry, making her look one that is most definitely unique. Her footwear of choice is ballet flats, though during the chillier months she keeps her little toes warm by way of knee high faux fur lined leather boots, adorned with flashy gemstones and buckles.

Personality: When you think about Ryleigh, think about Fall. She is cool like an autumn breeze pulling leaves from trees, but also warm like a steaming mug of cocoa. Her smile can light up a room, and her hugs can brighten you up on the darkest of days. With her friends she tends to be helpful, bubbly, full of laughs, and always ready for an adventure. Around strangers she tries to always offer a helping hand to those in need. Her positive outlook on life, and her willingness to offer assistance to others makes her easy to befriend, and to those who she has made a bond with, her loyalty is unwavering. She does have a sour side- as most everyone does. Rarely does she ever become someones enemy, but she has absolutely no patience or tolerance for those who take her kindness, or anyone else's, for granted. Her mindset is that you get back what you out into the world, and if you treat others as less than yourself, you should not be treated with the same kindness as others who appreciate the kindness they have been shown.

Bio: Apart from her being a twin, there isn't much unusual that has occurred in Ry's life. She grew up in the same house she lived in until her family moved closer to the high school she and her brother Anthony wanted to attend, and she has shared a room with her brother since she was born. She excelled in her primary schooling, having a college reading comprehension in her 5th grade year and being nearly two grade levels above her own in mathematics all throughout school. She participated in Girl Scouts when she was a young girl, and during her freshman year of high school she found her niche with the local drama troupe, participating in rehearsals and theatrical performances outside of school, in addition to being a member of the student council and the school's art club. In hope of getting a full ride scholarship to the local community college she participates in a wide range of volunteer work, helping at the food bank and the animal shelter, as well as anything Student Council decides to volunteer at. She particularly likes being a peer tutor, and offers help to lower grades in math, science, english, and history.

Name: Anthony Fairchild

Age & Grade: 17, Senior

Appearance: Despite being fraternal twins with Ryleigh, the only real way you'd know the two were siblings was if they told you. Anthony shares almost nothing with his sister in way of appearance. His skin is only half as dark as her's, making him very pale in comparison to her mocha tone. His mess of dark brown curls refuses to be tamed, leaving him looking like he has just rolled out of bed no matter how he tries to fix it, and his eyes are nearly black in color, mimicking his father's. He is also a good two inches shorter than Ryleigh, making the connection between them practically invisible. To further distance himself from his twin, and to make up for his shabby appearance, he dresses with a sort of laid back class that few can pull off. He typically pairs obnoxiously colored Converse sneakers with distressed denim jeans and stylish button downs, occasionally accompanied by a loose tie or pocket handkerchief. This look may not get him much attention with the ladies, but his signature style makes him the poster child for his close knit group of friends, who all make attempts to pull off the laid back class created by Anthony.

Personality: In one word, Anthony, who generally goes by Tony, could be accurately described as a goofball. His deep, throaty laugh echoes through the halls at school, and he cracks cheesy jokes every chance he gets. He is very easy going and extremely easy to get along with, making him fairly popular in the way that everyone knows who he is, even if they hardly know anything about him. He has a very small circle of friends -all guys- that he runs with, though he knows the names of most everyone at school. He is loyal to a fault, and will do anything to keep his friends together. Within the small group of Tony's friends, he is the keeper of everyone's secrets, and his mind is like a steel trap. He has dirt on all of his buddies, but, since his ultimate goal is to keep everyone together, he keeps it all under wraps, so as not to upset anyone.

Bio: Tony grew up with a relatively normal childhood. He never really had any issues in school or at home. He stayed at grade level throughout primary school, middle school, and high school. When he started his junior year of school he decided to take a tradesman class that the local community college was offering at a reduced rate for high school students, and he finished his junior year of school and his first year of training towards a carpenter's certificate without any issues. His senior year started off rough with the loss of one of his best friends, and his school work and training both suffered from him missing classes and not turning in work on time. It took him almost two months but eventually he started to catch up in his classes and he got back on track with training. His smile and laughter still fade at times, but to those who don't know him too well he seems to be back to normal.
That works for me! Soooo am I good to post or....?
So we are going with Ryleigh and Tony knowing him and Morgan well enough to be just chilling at Odin's house?
@iHxzardx, do you or @Filthy Mudblood have a preference of who the twins are neighbors to?
Sorry for this but I'm totally going to double post.

So since you guys are all sort of wrapped up in your own thing, I was thinking maybe the twins could be living either next door or across the street from Odin, that way they have some sort of a way to jump into the story? If someone has a better idea, by all means, let me know. Also, I need actual opinions. Am I going to bore you all if I write a fair amount? If I will then I can take my forms down. Be honest, I'm a big girl, I can take it! ;)
