After arriving and settling into her quarters, Tara made her way to the meal with Zarketh circling above her grumbling about how slow she moved. Don't you want to hunt? Tara questioned her after seeing several dragons flying off towards the forest. That can wait, I want to meet the humans the others have picked properly. Tara could tell Zarketh was both excited to meet them and eager to show off her own choice. I am not a... trophy. Tara thought back, but she was smiling.
They arrived and Zarketh settled down next to Methuzar, flicking her tail at him playfully and craning her head round to look at his red-haired rider who ignored her, focused on her sewing. Tara sat down next to her and swatted at her dragon's head. Leave her alone you pest. Zarketh huffed warm air onto Yennefer and moved her head to Tara's other side, watching the humans with interest. Tara grabbed some food and ate silently as others arrived and sat down. They all looked a similar age to her or younger, she wasn't sure whether that was a good thing or not. She had joined the army herself at 16, she knew competence wasn't necessarily based on age. Most of them looked like warriors which was good, hopefully they would already be competent physically or close at least. The noticeable exception was the woman sat to her right. She looked like she had never held a weapon in her life, Tara worried she wouldn't be able to keep up but she also knew a variety of skills and backgrounds would be useful.
She listened as some of her companions introduced themselves; a knight, a sailor... or a pirate perhaps, she frowned at that, and a doctor. Now that would certainly be useful. Perhaps she should keep an eye on the woman and offer her help with the physical side of things if she needed it. Tara noticed she was sewing a more practical pair of trousers though, that was a good sign. The same could not be said of the woman who arrived next though, wearing a completely impractical dress and giggling. She couldn't imagine what she could contribute but she knew better than to judge purely on appearance, maybe the dress and behaviour was a mask.
Deciding it was time to introduce herself Tara looked around the group with a smile. “It is a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Tara Rial. Until five years ago I served the crown of Otamur. I managed to escape after the country fell to Lord Ogual and have been travelling since, I met Lord Merrik in a similar way to Sir Brantly and once I was convinced that he was not a madman, my course was obvious and here I am.”
Zarketh projected her thoughts to the minds of the assembled humans. Greetings little humans, I am Zarketh. I look forward to destroying our enemies by your side.
