The character would present a second interest to the group. I was aiming for a child of the Queen who doesn't have legitimate claim to the throne due to not being related to the late King or sommat like that.

There is a planned event for the group that I forsee causing a split between interests of the group and it would drive the characters to take sides. The conflict at this point would fall between Sarah and this character. I'll admit, it might have been a little ambitious buy I thought it'd have been a nice surprise.

Fell upon the interest check for this and I was wondering, must all of the characters be 'Good doers'?

For this particular adventure, there is a common evil that is needing to be delt with. I say good doers, but it doesn't mean a character is good. To be totally honest, it would be in everyone's best interest to stop the spreading darkness. Dark Magic consumes people and the monsters do not have allies. They are a wild force that has been unleashed and pointed a civilization. The Dark Wizard doesn't control them, he defends himself and helps guide the monster's to meet his needs.

If you are talking about playing a 'criminal' or someone who doesn't necessarily align with the views of the country, I could see potential. Possibly anti-party at times and causing some questionable decisions to be made for the sake of speed and efficency.

The Order is ambiguous in morality, and so I want them to be viewed negatively. But whatever you think of them, they're a necessary evil (at least, in my head-canon). No one else is willing to stand on the ramparts in some gods-forsaken wasteland like the Knight-Brothers; no one else is willing to commit the atrocities they are willing to commit.

Then again, that's just my head-canon, take it and use it as you will.

On another site, the Brothers would attack pagan villages in the midst of the night, drag the occupants into the streets, and then force them to convert. Those who agreed were put on wagons and escorted to pacified lands where they were given fertile land and good protection. Those who refused were brutally butchered in the street, in front of everyone, as a warning to anyone else who might oppose the will of the Brotherhood.

EDIT: At that time, the Brothers were trying to purge that area of a specific kind of worship; they did so with brutal efficiency.

A lot of their most extreme practices would not be accepted by Conran leadership. Like they have rules to follow to continue to operate, though they have probably earned some leeway over the years. There are other orders and racial churches in the the city.

When they came to Conra, I can picture the ruler of the time deeming them a necessary evil of sorts. They can't be too extreme. Humans are numerous in Conra but so are all the other races. Elves would have their own version of an Order trying to purify their race once again by calling them back to their homeland. Goblnoid Races have advocacy groups and unions. Conra is a melting pot. I am not saying some things didn't or don't happen but that gets into the racy and dark side of things.

I am working on my character right now! I am interested in faculty as well, but will wait to PM you until after my character is done. This is taking long be a use another rp I am in just spun-up so fast. It was just that initial wave of a tivity and I definitely will make time for this!
