Introduction:
For the longest time, I have had an interest in the Greek myth of Hades/Pluto & Persephone, & the fine line between love & obsession.
I have multiple plots for anyone interested, so please let me know if you would like to give any of them a shot, or if my post has sparked another idea from you.

IInspiration:

Possible Plots:
~First up, a retelling of the story with themes of angst & power struggle; Pluto will struggle to give his new wife the love she wants, while battling the urge to claim her, thus creating the main conflict between the two.
~Persephone passes away due to intervening from her mother(Demeter). Initially, Hades/Pluto is grief-stricken, but he learns to accept her death & waits for his pool of souls to regurgitate her back into the world of the living. Flash forward to 1818 in Whitechapel, London, where Persephone has been reborn as a wealthy merchant's daughter. During his quest to retrieve his bride, Pluto begins to kill prostitutes in the area who dare to use his beloved's name while turning tricks, earning the title of Jack the Ripper.
~Similar to the last plot, but Persephone is reincarnated even further in the future, during contemporary times. Persephone is now a straight-forward & strong woman, rather than the wilting maiden he knew in the past.
Much to Ava's embarrassment, Andreios quickened the pace of the trip back home after her speech about marrying for love. She had hoped, in some way, Andreios would have considered her statements as uplifting or a very loose invitation for some sort of romantic relationship, but he just seemed to be bothered by the subject, so much so that he didn't want to be alone with her anymore. Defeated, Ava nodded at Andreios' brisk command to hurry, supposing he was right after all. It wouldn't do to anger her father when she wanted him to be more malleable in the subject of marriage.

Once inside the walls of the Wenham Castle, Ava followed after Andreios to the stables, relieved to feel the warmth inside. She trembled a little as the feeling came back to her fingers & toes, the stable hands already preparing to secure the horses. When it came time for Ava to climb from her horse, Ava pretended to be a little wobbly, a harmless baiting trick her mother suggested back at the cabin. Successfully, Ava was able to acquire help from Andreios to get off of her horse, her fingers lightly clutching to his shoulders.

When Ava's feet touched the ground, she came face to face with a lovely gem that hung from Andreios' neck, the same color of his eyes. Ava knew she'd never laid her eyes on it before, but for some reason, the trinket looked so... familiar. She could almost imagine the way it felt under her skin, like she held it once. Entranced, Ava slowly reached up to touch the pendant lightly. She could feel an odd power from it, a power similar to what she felt when she would cast magic spells.

"Master Andreios, where did you get-"

"Ava!" Jason Wenham called from the stable entrance, knocking the woman back into reality. Immediately, Ava released Andreios' pendant & turned beet red. What was she doing, putting her hands on him like some common trollop? Her curiosity was going to make this man think she had loose morals! Diverting her gaze, Ava turned back to the exit of the horse stall.

"P-please excuse me," she told Andreios before heading off in the direction of her father's voice. After inviting the young woman to dinner, her led her from the stables & back to the castle, giving Andreios the motion to follow after them.
it's okay. my computer's been kinda junky too.

x.x
Ava watched Andreios in awe as he explained to her his take on her situation. She hadn't thought of it like that; no, she'd been blindly accepting whatever it was her father said. But the fact of the matter was, if she just did whatever he wanted now, she would never become happy. For now, she would remain optimistic & see to it that she didn't end up just like her mother & father.

"Then I've decided," Ava said aloud, full of determination, "I won't be letting Papa marry be off to the richest man he can find. When I marry, it's going to be with a man I love, or not at all. If I really insist on this, he'll do it. Don't you think so too, Mr. Andreios?"

Satisfied with her decision, Ava thought back to her mother's teasing over how Ava apparently found Andreios attractive. It wasn't common, but women of her status could marry below their class. If she showed interest in Andreios, would he eventually consider her as bride material? Probably not.

He probably thought she was very little better than a child. All the same, Ava's nervousness around him persisted, & she constantly felt like they had already known each other for a long time. Maybe she was already in love with someone.
Ella held in a small giggle as Marken flattered the guard, practically turning the man to putty in his hands. Was it really that easy to turn commoners into willing slaves with just a few compliments? No wonder Marken had been so frustrated that she all but ignored him at his ball. It must have been maddening to him that any woman wouldn't be completely enraptured by him.

Resting against the cell door a bit more, Ella wondered to herself if people would react to her the same way. In honestly, it made her a bit curious. Once she got out of her cell, she'd put her wondering to a test.

"Did you really mean that?" Ella asked Marken softly as the soldier began to make his rounds again, giving the two more privacy, "He really is nice, after all."
Sylvia is on the move!!
DUN DUN DUNN!
Despite her best intentions, Sylvia felt her frustration building up as Aranhil simply pushed her aside, demanding that she be coddled like some kind of infant. She didn't know what he intended for her, leaving her so defenseless. The next time someone cornered her, there was no way she'd luck out again. She'd really die. But not if she could help it.

Maybe a Dragon woman would just roll over & show her belly, but Sylvia would do no such thing. Women had every right to have their wishes to fulfilled as well, & it was high time Aranhil learned that she wasn't going to be a wilting maiden for the rest of her life.

Standing, Sylvia tossed her other shoe into the grass & fled to the large summer home without her husband. She wasn't at all deterred by the feel of grass under her feet, or that someone would see her ankles. Why did Dragons have to be so damned insistent on shoes? It was completely ridiculous to separate oneself from nature.

It was also ridiculous that she was still untouched, & that she wasn't able to protect herself at all, thanks to her overprotective husband's whims. She would fix these problems soon, if it were the last thing she did. Only one person was available to help her right now.

"Miss Cendres!" Sylvia called as she approached her sister-in-law's apartment rooms. She opened the main doors & went into the waiting room, looking around for the younger woman, "Miss Cendres, I don't have much time. I need you to tell me how you get men to do what you want; Aranhil is intent on turning me into a shelved doll!"
Ella held in a small laugh at Marken pieced together her request, rather logically explaining to her why they could get what she wanted. She'd figured he'd give her just about anything she liked anyway, but it was nice that he found her ideas worthy of consideration, rather than just letting her walk all over him.

When Marken finally reached out & pulled her against him through the bars, she relaxed and allowed him to, resting her face against the cool bars. She wanted nothing more than to be in the same room as Marken again, to rest herself into him completely, but of course, that wouldn't be permitted. & considering the guard was back, and not making a fuss about them touching, she probably shouldn't push her luck.

"I'm glad it's you that I'm marrying..." Ella finally mumbled in a low breath, "Not many men take their women's views seriously. I know people who have been married forever who never reached some kind of level of equality."
those two are sooooo evil.

xD
Ella smiled softly after listening to Marken promise to stay with her for the day. He was so kind, not thinking for a moment that he preferred to be somewhere else. A lesser man would allow his discomfort to push him from the prison.

At Marken's question of what cake they should have, Ella tilted her head a little, blushing. He might laugh at her, but as an unprivileged woman, she hadn't sampled many cakes in her life. Sugar & other spices were a luxury that even her well-to-do family usually didn't splurge on often. Her step-mother's tea was kept under lock & key, & only brought out on special occasion.

"Umm... I've never had chocolate cake before," Ella admitted, her face turning pink, "I would like one of those for the wedding... i-if you don't think that's too extravagant, of course. My papa used to tell me that chocolate was a very expensive import."
