It's a little more than that. It's used for RPs centered around battles without pre-determined results, where whether or not you can outperform your opponent makes up the meat of the RP. There's no dice or such, but it's rather technical in a different way. We use a general battle mechanic that at its core is based around one person launching an attack, the other receiving it, and then in reverse. The person receiving the attack determines whether or not they can avoid it and what effect it had on them. That way we have a reasonably fair system where the player with the best tactics wins the battle, as long as both players are honorable and trust each other not to godmod.
If you will, go have a look around some of the IC threads in the arena section to get an idea of what it's like. Skallagrim's Nexus of Worlds has plenty of content to look at, but the posts there are huge so it might take up too much of your time. We'll discuss this further once you've had a look and still feel like this suits you.
@LeeRoy, yeah i saw that guy too. Guess he was power-tripping when he wrote that. Thinking you're the best at something usually just means you have a twisted world view.
Oh yeah, and i'm finally posting the IC.
