Lidiya was startled by a voice and a sharp pounding on her door. "Time to rise and shine, lovely guests!" She sat upright. She hadn't even realized she'd fallen asleep. She was still sitting by the window, her violin now in her lap. Her bones ached and protested as she stood, stretching and rubbing the kinks out of her muscles. She hadn't even bothered to change from the night before. Padding along the floor of the room she threw open the closet door, intending to put away her things. She gasped instead. The closet was filled with wonderful dresses. There was silk, brocade, lace, velvet... all in wonderful colors and they were all so beautifully antique. She almost felt afraid to touch them. Reaching out she ran her fingertips across the soft materials. This was so much better than the rags she had. Rifling through the dresses she picked out a pale lavender renaissance style dress with long sleeves. Slipping out of her clothing she pulled on the gorgeous dress. With lots of effort and many perplexed looks she managed to get it on right, lacing up the back. The sleeves covered her scars nicely, the body accentuating her stick thin form but not making it look grotesque. She smiled. The dress was heavy but the feeling of it was wonderful. Brushing out her thick hair, the small woman went to work braiding it into a simple updo. Of all the things for the forlorn little woman to revel in... Here she was playing princess dressup and feeling wonderful about it. Opening her door, she poked her head out into the hallway to see what was on the agenda for today.
