Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

What... what was that? That wasn't his own voice. Benjamin looked around as Dia and Ari were discussing escape - a plan he agreed with - but there wasn't anyone in the room that wasn't supposed to be there. That voice had to come from somewhere. "Did any of you hear a voice that doesn't belong here?" he asked, just to make sure.

It didn't feel right, that voice. Seeing things others couldn't was normal to him. Hearing them, not so much. Maybe he had imagined it, or it had come from outside. Either option was good for him. He preferred not to think about other explanations for that voice he had heard.

"Yeah, sure," Ethan replied and went to what used to be Gaia's room. He looked around when he entered it, there wasn't much there. The girl probably didn't own many things. It took him a bit, but he found the necklace Harriet had described. He examined the emerald for a moment before putting it in his pocket and leaving the room again.

As he joined the other two he stopped when he heard a faint scraping sound. Morrison gestured with a finger at his lips to be silent. The three didn't move but lifted their weapons. Something clawed at the doorpost of one of the rooms and a greenish insect-like head came out.
"Light," Morrison whispered.
"Got it," Barrow whispered back and he flashed a light. During the time the creature averted his eyes, Morrison had screwed on a silencer and shot a bullet through it's head.

As the body of the creature fell, Morrison went to the room Harriet had entered and he knocked on the open door. "Better hurry," he whispered. "Lesser demons are here, LD-5. If there's one, there's lots more."

From the monitor Lily could see what was happening in the room, but she let it play out. The girls could comfort each other if they wanted, there was no need for her to intervene. And Steph did a fine job in calming Gaia down.

She stretched her arms. Time to go to bed, she'd deal with everything else in the morning.
The deadline is over and while we didn't have many votes, the winner is "A camp for the night".

I want to thank all the contestants for their entry and the voters for their vote.
The Duujin trio, which trio is that one again?

Also, I had a random idea. Sacred fire is the signature move of Ho-oh, but also Entei can do this. And due to heritage Saruya can as well, but it's move she can't really use like her regular attacks. It's more of an instinctive use. The random thought that came up is that if the rainbow fire comes from Ho-oh, would it also enable the fire Pokémon to learn Sacred Fire, but as an instinctive move rather than a conscious move?

The idea behind the feather is that Ho-oh doesn't lose feathers often, but he is a bird so it can happen. And occasially he, as a legendary, just gets the feeling it might be time to let go of one of his feathers and will pluck one out for the wind to carry it to someone. And Ho-oh being Ho-oh, he might just decide to let one feather travel for fun, knowing humans will be excited to find it.

Michael actually has one of Ho-oh's feathers; his father found it on one of his travels and gave it to his son as a good luck charm. That's how Lytse came in contact with it.
"Oh, that's fine!" Netherlu said when Harry offered to stay. "You're like, a grandchild of mine, aren't you?" He laughed a bit as he sat down on the floor and put Lytse down again, so they could talk. "You slept holding one of my feathers, didn't you? Had the dream, choose to accept the gift. Can you show me?"
Lytse didn't get the opportunity to answer any of the questions, but they sounded rhetorical anyway. That is what had happened. The only question he could answer was the last one. "Sure," he said.
Lighting his back flames was a natural thing, it was something he didn't even have to think about. There was no way he could explain how he did it. Tapping into Ho-oh's gift was likewise something as easy as breathing. Flames in colour of a rainbow erupted from his back.
"Beautiful," Netherlu commented and he waved to Nygari. "Hey, come have a look at this! This little dude found one of my feathers!"

Michael went to where Tanter and Vatier were. After nodding a greeting to Tanter, he turned to Vatier. "I heard there was a problem and you needed help. Can you tell us more about it?"

"Hot Chocolate is nice," Andy commented. "I enjoy alcoholic beverages, but they're just not suitable for Pokémon, especially if they never had it. Benny is small and can only take very small amounts; the risk of alcohol poisoning is real in that tiny body. Bear is bulky and can handle much more, but he doesn't know moderation. He found my whiskey bottle once, got properly drunk and practically wrecked my house." He sighed while Benny chuckled. "I'm glad I never had issues like that with Merlin or Kim."

Harcu nodded to show he agreed with Watcher. "I have some young ones I would never send, but my oldest is fully evolved and I consider him strong enough to be up for this task," he stated. "We are concerned about you, and have faith in our children."

Jirachi, still in his Pokémon form, floated to Belle. "I didn't know you were coming," he greeted her. "We only met once? Twice? I sleep a lot and the world always changed so much every time I wake up." Because he always slept for long periods of time, Chifferi was especially grateful for the old legendary Pokémon, the ones that were there since the beginning and were still around now.

Welcome to the Voting and Feedback round for RPGC#35!

Voting and Feedback guidelines
  • Please take your time to read through all the entries before voting for your favourite work. The reasons you base your vote on are up to you, as long the vote isn’t based on whether or not you like the author.
It would be nice if you could share why you voted for a specific work.
  • Giving feedback is optional but highly encouraged. When giving feedback you should be respectful and constructive. It’s good to point out any flaws or the things you feel could be improved or why you didn't like something, but don’t be mean.
Make sure to point out what you liked or what appreciated in the entry too.
  • Contestants may and are encouraged to vote for and give feedback for the other entries, but don’t vote for your own entry. If contestants wish to withhold a vote and only give feedback, that is good too.
  • The entries are anonymous unless the writer asked for having their name added. That being said, writers may claim their work at any time during the voting period.
  • The entry with the most votes will win, but in case of a tie a Contest Mod will cast the tie-breaker vote.
  • You can vote for entries and post your feedback in this thread, but if you rather have your vote and/or feedback be anonymous you can PM it to @Calle.
  • The voting period deadline is June 20th, 9:00 CET, which is 7:00 server time (both times are in a.m.).

The Entries

The contest is closed for new entries. The 2 that were submitted will be shown in the voting and feedback round.
There are 2 entries!
And a little over 12 hours left before the deadline.
"Nah," Ethan said as he followed Harriet. "I didn't bring any personal things. When we joined we were told that we'd move frequently and sometimes unexpectedly. I've got nothing of personal value here."
Harriet had changed, or was only just showing who she really was. Those horns that were only visible for a brief moment were either new or had been better hidden previously.

Standing in the hallway with their bedrooms made him think of Gaia, when she had gone wild due to that device. He hoped she was okay, wherever she was.

"Don't worry, darling," Lily said. "I didn't really want to give you to them anyway, but I figured I should ask you what you wanted. Now that I know, I will fight for you. Cutting you open while conscious. How brutal. They will not lay another hand on you if I can help it. Do try to get some sleep, you are perfectly safe here."
Well, mostly. At least from that agency. She cut the connection and grabbed the phone to inform headquarters about this development and to ensure this facility would be protected against this other agency.
Benjamin watched Dia hug Ari before sitting next to him and putting her hand against his. It was just a simple touch, but it elevated his spirit. Maybe this place wasn't too bad, as he got to meet her.

A cold chill went up his spine and he shuddered slightly. He tilted his head when he heard something resembling a low laugh, but it didn't sound like anyone in this room. Maybe it had happened somewhere outside? Some of the other patients had creepy laughs. He glanced around, not feeling entirely at ease, but that feeling faded when he looked at Dia again.

"How can we help Ray when she gets out of isolation again?" he asked the others, who all knew her better than he did.
