@Masaki Haruna Can you remember if we have backstory on why Laxus' power is so limited? It was mentioned by the mage this week but I can't remember if we've heard about it before or whether it's new information.
Illedrith breathed a deep sigh of relief and resheathed her halberd as Vega walked away from the fight. Most of her mirrors had been consumed by his blast of negative energy, either from blocking for people, or from moving in front of some of the rifts to keep them unscathed. With no further need for them, the mirrors shone brightly as they released their stored power and then shattered into floating motes of light which filled the courtyard briefly. Hearing Rei apologize, she turned to him.

"No need to apologize, this was out of all of our control, it was just good that nobody got hurt and that nothing was damaged. Hopefully your guildmaster will take a formally lodged complaint to heart and do something about it himself in future, rather than leaving it to you."

It was then that she felt a light tug on her sleeve, signalling the return of her favorite soon-to-be-couple. Illedrith smiled at Ceri as she earnestly worried about her big sister.

"No need to fret, I'm fine, though a little tired. It'll take more than a few kicks from an upstart mercenary to pose a threat to me! Enough of that unpleasant business though, how was your foray? Find anything good to eat? I hear there's a decent cafe nearby if you're hungry?" Looking over her shoulder, she addressed the two S-classes: "You're welcome to tag along if you've got nothing better to do. I'd say we all need a good round of drinks after that..."
She's already been dumped in the lake outside town iirc. I'm sure she's welcome to walk back into town if she wants to come back to the festival
Slashing in, Illedrith's halberd shone as it slashed up toward Vega. He didn't even seem to hesitate before turning to block her specifically rather than her mirror, and she cursed internally that she hadn't chosen a more symmetrical outfit for the day. Still, her short term plan seemed to be turning out fine, as Vega seemed to be focusing on her more than the rest of the guild, and she had no qualms with going toe to toe to him in close combat.

Utilizing the comparatively enormous distance created by the halberd attack, Illedrith took a step back and spun her halberd clear while drawing in a mirror in front of the roundhouse kick, which reflect the physical shock of the kick back at Vega before being wiped out by a wave of his negative magic. As to the second kick, it was so telegraphed that she had more than enough time to bring the rear head of her spinning halberd crashing down towards Vega's extending leg as she took a second step back to mirror his movements toward her.

It was then that she noticed the rifts opening all over the sky. Skipping backward, she dropped all pretense of offence, there was no longer any need. Her original plan had been to encase herself and Vega in a prison of mirrors and have both of them dropped out of town at the same time through the same rift, but if Odinn was planning on taking this fight seriously, she would simply support him in dealing with the situation. With both hands, she started forming mirrors, which flowed out from in front of her and moved into a tight ring around the combatants, breathing deeply as she channeled her magic into physical form.

As she looked across at Odinn who was now the other side of Vega to her and gave him a meaningful look.

"Vega, surely you can see you don't stand a chance here if we all have to get serious. Stand down before you get hurt, because I have no idea what's coming, but I guarantee you won't like it..."
Automatic, but not quite instant. There's probably about a .5s delay before the damage is reflected as a projectile.

However, damage to the mirrors by individuals not considered foes by Illedrith will just be absorbed, not reflected (unless she wants it reflected back at them for some reason??)
Despite the presence of two S-class mages nearby, the situation seemed to continue to escalate. In just seconds, Odinn had intervened and sent Ria away, but the biggest problem still remained, having used his magic to negate the rift just in time. Before Illedrith had a chance to react, a set of chains flashed out from Vega and wrapped around Odinn, pulling him close. As they were speaking to each other, Illedrith was already pressing forward, a fourth, much larger mirror with no edging coming into being beside her. As Vega threw Odinn away from himself and turned to kick one of his fellow Golem's Hand members, Illedrith struck.

Utilizing the distraction caused by Ky, Illedrith swept into range, slashing up toward Vega's back with the reverse head of her halberd, which was blunt for situations just like these. There was no way that Vega would fail to notice her approach, which is the reason for the that she had created. To Vega, it would show a perfect mirror image of Illedrith swinging her halberd, along with an almost completely seamless image of the space that would be behind her if she were real. The three other mirrors had floated down in front of the pair of Illedriths, and were ready to repel anything that came their way.

Illedrith's eyes had taken on a hard look as she glared at Vega's back. She was aware that he was a trouble stirrer, but this was too far, particularly against her guild mates who had so far not taken a single harmful action against him. She would take on the burden of punishment herself if it was to be handed out, but by God would he be put in his place.

Apologies for not posting yesterday; I was out of net range for most of the day and didn't have time to sit down and smash out a post. Will do my best to post up today.
This is, I think, my biggest issue with any sort of anti-magic in any system, it's not only 'unfun', it's also extremely hard to balance. Odinn is an older and more experienced mage than Vega, there should be nothing easy about cancelling out a direct attack from an S class mage's signature move.

Not to mention that it's hardly fair to complain about people assuming their abilities resolve against your character, and then proceed to declare that not only have you already hit your opponent with your next spell, but you've actually bound them and pulled them to you. You've written the conclusion of your declared action before the target had a chance to react to the action in the first place :/

Unless you got permission. Which I figure to myself is unlikely given how rekt Odinn is in your post...

Edit: For reference, this post is talking about the post-edit changes to Vega's actions.
@Raijinslayer No, Sho didn't see j8's post and edited accordingly. Vega isn't able to negate magic. Being in contact with his magic will cause the victims magic to be drained at a set rate but based on Vega's earlier concerns about fighting Illedrith who uses a long weapon, it has to touch the wizard directly.

...Vega's earlier concerns about Illedrith's long weapons? This is the first I've heard of this; what was the issue and the conclusion?

Edit: I'm also going to hold off on posting until the location of Odinn and everyone has been confirmed; no need to add even more confusion to the situation before it's resolved.
"... What do you require my assistance for?"

He jinxed it. He had to have jinxed it. The second he opened his mouth it was bound to come to it. Not a moment passed between the end of Rei's question and the start of Ria's torrent of childishness. Seemingly fed up with being berated by all and sundry, the slayer had unleash her thus-far reserved words onto the unsuspecting population of the square. Not expecting the tirade or the theatrics, the majority of the citizens (the ones who hadn't already hastily vacated the area) shied away even further from the absurd scene that was taking up the plaza. Neither guild was really playing the PR game very well today it seemed. Mostly ignoring Ria as she pranced about, Illedrith continued talking to Rei.

"...I'd say it'd be pretty obvious from that, wouldn't you say? She always gets like this when she gets reprimanded, and she always comes off with an even worse scolding from the guild master for it in the end."

Listening for a moment to the fighting words that Ria was shouting out for all the world to hear, Illedrith picked up the pace of her explanation.

"Some of your guildmates are bound to take offence to that, and I'd appreciate it if you could stop them from turning this into an all-out brawl while I try to stop Ria from getting herself into too much tro-"

And once again Illedrith cut herself off, whirling around as she heard the ominous sound of Ria's throne shattering and felt the sinister touch of Vega's anti-magic. In a flash, Illedrith's halberd was out and fully extended; mirroring Vega's stance and accompanied by a trio of mirrors that shimmered into existence around her head like a halo. Ria may have started the provocation, but not only was Vega's reaction over the top, he was also threatening one of her guildmates, and that was not on.

"Back right the hell off, Ashworth. For once in your miserable life, be the bigger man and walk away; responding to taunts with violence is so very like you though, isn't it?"
