Miku mostly kept quiet during the briefing. She was still a little rattled after the dogfight. Hopefully the Viper she was being given for the time being would at least stop her being such an obvious target by not lagging behind everyone so much.

However, the unfamiliar cockpit of the F-16 was enough to get her reaching for the flight manual for the first time since she'd finished training. Obviously, everything worked in more or less the same way, but she still needed to work out where everything was in front of her.

Eventually though, once one of the ground technicians walked her through the startup checklist she had the engine running, and taxied it out to take her place in the lineup. The side-mounted stick would take a bit of getting used to though.

Slowly, Miku reached up and pulled off her oxygen mask and opened the canopy, taking a few deep breaths to purge the recycled air from her lungs. She climbed out of the cockpit and down the ladder, before nearly collapsing at the foot of it as her legs gave way.
