The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

I'd love to see more magical girl RPs, but sadly that genre seems to be dying out. As much as I like some of the dark deconstructions, the edgy Madoka knock-offs seem to have killed the genre, especially the early feel-good version of it.

Tbh I'd like to see a reconstruction of magical girls. Like how superheroes started out idealistic, then came the gritty anti-heroes, and now we've got works that are more balanced in terms of tone. Magical girls are basically superheroes, so why not?
@Hyyde322 Yay another ModDoc! It'll be interesting to see what kind of dynamic Vanessa and Cosima have, considering how different they are.

Cracking and crunching sounds rumbled through the building, drowning out Shiro's clapping, telling Kaida there was no time. As Natsumi launched herself forward and scooped Kaeru up, Kaida darted close behind on a wind current, coughing violently from the cloud of smoke and soot she inadvertently whipped up. Landing outside, she rubbed her stinging eyes, wincing and biting back a yelp as the blisters on her hands flared up. Behind her, the telltale cacophony of the building crumbling to rubble sounded through the area.

"Ack... Everyone safe?" Opening her eyes and glancing around the area, she gave another splutter and a strained smile. "Sorry about the smoke." Her gaze settled on Natsumi, who'd landed in a rather unfortunate position on top of Kaeru, and was currently blushing while apologising profusely. "Well, that's awkward." This would give Kaida plenty of ammunition to tease both of them with. "Both of you ok though? Anyone need healing?"

A quick examination revealed that, as much of a close call the battle had been, nobody was badly hurt. With a sigh of relief, she made water bubble up around both her arms, the pain fading along with the red marks. With her hand still encased in water, she gave the team the thumbs up, her attention mostly focused on the two newcomers. "Great job, everyone!" Even if that stick in the mud Ayako didn't agree, admonishing Kaeru with a bonk on the head, what mattered was that they'd succeeded.

The city was safe. For now.

The journey back didn't take long. Kaida, now in her regular de-transformed state, climbed out of the car and stretched to ease her aching muscles. Following Kaeru, she gave a wary look around for Ayako before whispering, "Don't let our boss get to you. She's like that."
@TheNoCoKid Jaded ModDoc is here!

"When is it 'worth it' to you?"

Sylvia Copeland, Harold's Academy for the Magically Inclined

Worth it is when the reward outweighs the risk! For me it means making the most of the freedom I'm only just now getting to experience. Sneaking to the kitchen at night means having to watch my back, but if it means getting some tasty morsels out of it, it's all worthwhile. Much of that stuff would just end up going to waste otherwise, anyway.

Have you ever visited another world? If so, what was it like? One of my classes involves travelling through portals, it's great, no matter how strict the teacher is!

Yay! Once the CS template is up, I'll have a character ASAP.

Sylvia Copeland

Day 1 Time: Dusk/Evening Weather: Light Rain Location: Harold's Academy, Main Ballroom Participants: Sylvia Copeland @LuckyBlackCat Kaspaan Mustaven @Deja

Behind the queue of students, a girl crept up through the hallway, hovering a few inches off of the ground so that nobody would hear her approach. A pair of slit-pupilled eyes, peering out from a black and gold cait mask, scanned the line. The corners of her lips twitched into a mischievous smile.

Given the choice, Sylvia wouldn't be here. Exploring the grounds would have been much more appealing, save for two things. One, knowing Tessa, she'd make sure as many people as possible had to attend. Two, the weather would put a literal damper on roaming around. Rain drummed on the windows, droplets trickling down. So, here she was, adjusting the sash of the only formal dress she owned, thankful it was at least relatively easy to move around in. Oh well, she supposed party food would make it all worthwhile, as would getting to pull a few pranks.

Her gaze settled upon a familiar head of messy blond hair. Kaspaan Mustaven, her 'partner in crime', as she called him. As he busied himself materialising a mask of ice, Sylvia took advantage of his distraction. She snuck to the side, planted her feet lightly on the ground, and once he'd finished making his mask, leapt out at him. "Mrooooowww!"

Chuckling, she pushed her mask up. "Hey Kasp! Good to see ya here." She glanced around, and lowered her voice. "Well... Not so good that it's pretty much mandatory to be here, but you know what I mean. At least there'll be food."

The underside of her nose tingled, turning dark like that of a cait, and she sniffed the air. A myriad of delectable scents wafted from the ballroom - pastries, various cheeses, sausages, smoked salmon. "Pretty great food at that, by the smell of it."

Kaida had just put out another flaming wall when a burst of heat and light flared behind her, accompanied by a thud and a strained "Ow".

She spun round and sprinted towards her dazed comrade. "Natsumi!" It'd take more than a fireball to take out a fire user - Natsumi's skin, reddened as it was, bore no severe burns - but that had been a heavy impact, by the sound of it. Kaida clenched her teeth. As much as every fibre of her being detested letting down a teammate, she was in no position to heal her right now. The water would turn scalding and do more harm than good, even with Natsumi's heat resistance.

"Kaida-san! The building!"

With a grim nod in response to Kazemi, Kaida split the water orb into several globs, which shot at the surrounding flames and slowed their spread across the walls. "Sorry Natsumi... I'll heal you as soon as I can." Doubling over from the smoke and the effort, she condensed as much steam as possible back into a liquid sphere and aimed it at the Monster class demon. In this environment, she wouldn't be able to do the same damage she'd done to the beast earlier, but she had a plan. One of their new teammates, Kaeru, wielded lightning. Kaida gave her an urgent look, signalling her cue to zap the demon as soon as the water hit.

Darting upwards along with everyone else, Zircon glanced down to see the mushroom flailing its vines, unable to reach them. "Whew... Well this has been quite the day so far," she muttered. They were all safe now, but considering how today was going, she wondered when the next disaster would strike. "Everyone alright?" Despite the close call, nobody seemed hurt.

She followed the others through the forest, keeping an eye out through the glow of the luminescent plants for any other dangers. Every time a shadow scurried past in the distance or a loud animal cry sounded, she tensed. This place was far livelier than the pine forests in the Minty Mountains, for better or for worse. How anyone could live here and remain as calm as Juniper, she didn't know. As Juniper casually pointed out the row of poisonous toadstools, Zircon veered to the side, well away from them. "Yeah... We've already had one mushroom related scare."

Reaching the city should have been a relief, but it wasn't. Frowning, Zircon looked up and down the empty streets. The uneasy feeling she'd gotten from Mrs Greypetal's house earlier returned tenfold. It was only after a fruitless search for residents, Juniper knocking on door after door, that a voice broke the silence. An officer, flying over to them, face solemn as he broke the news. More fairies had been turned to stone.

Zircon's wings drooped. "Here too?" She clenched her fists by her sides, fingers digging into the fabric of her skirt. Not only were they no closer to breaking the curse, it was spreading. Taking a deep breath to try and pull herself together, she straightened her back and faced Officer Sundew. "It happened earlier, in Feydellia," she told him. "Do you know what's causing it?"
