Ivy looked up at Guy. "House? Really?" She shifted uncomfortably "would you mind...if I came too?"
Ivy opened her eyes and sat up abruptly, managing to to hit her head on some rocks in the mine shaft. "OWWWWW" She yelled, her voice echoing through the hollow tunnels. "Okay! I'm up! I'm up!" Ivy still had her eyes squeezed shut and the scenario reminded her vaguely of trying to get up in the morning. She rubbed the sore spot on her head and squinted to get a look at her surroundings. "Hey you!!" Ivy pointed at the newcomer in the mine shaft. "You can read minds?" Ivy winced a bit at the pain in her forehead. "Also, that soup you ate yesterday? Gross! How can you eat that stuff??" Ivy looked up and saw the other man from before. "And you weren't kidding...toughed it out indeed, I'm impressed." Ivy stood up shakily. "Yeah sorry about...uhm...the whole passing out thing...it doesn't happen that often?" She paused for a second. "Oh, and I'm Ivy by the way, nice to meet you, oh, and would you guys have bandages by any chance??"
Zoe had just gotten to the deck when she saw the wave coming. The whole world froze and it reminded her of a car accident she was in when she was little. She had seen the taxi cab skidding down the slippery wet hill right towards the car, but she just froze, and then the cars collided. Time stopped, and she made a split second decision. She jumped over the side. She resurfaced just in time to see the lights on the lower deck flicker out. The whole front deck had been tossed in the process and there were a handful of life boats that had survived the drop. She cast aside all other thoughts and focused on one main objective. Get to the lifeboat. Now.
Ivy looked around the barren wasteland. "You toughed this out?" She was slightly less skeptical of his ability to punch rocks with his bare hands now, and decided this guy was probably not the best person to piss off. "I'm really sorry about your...uhm...height...but it's not like I'm that tall either?" Ivy put a hand on top of her head just to make sure she hadn't morphed into a giant in the last five minutes. She laughed then collapsed to the ground. crap crap crap her vision was flooded full of images of the events of the previous day. One showed the giant blast, and then the two boys kneeling over the cat girl, the boy who was in front of her a second ago, then people she hadn't seen yet started flashing by. A mysterious man in black armor, a slender girl who appeared to be healing herself, a messy looking boy sitting in an orphanage, a snake man seeking cover just as the blast hits, then the explosion plays backwards showing Ivy something she hadn't noticed before, the blast exploded...outwards...which means the reason Torens wasn't obliterated was because it was the eye of the storm. Ivy gasped and opened her eyes again.
Zoe was lying on her bunk watching as the light swung from side to side. She had spent a fair amount of her life on boats, planes, impossibly long road trips, so she didn't get motion sickness very easily, but the fact that a boat of this size was rocking from side to side worried her. Zoe got up and looked out the small porthole that was in her cabin. The waves were big and choppy, and sheets of rain were hitting the boat. "Ugh...first day and this already?" She complained to one in particular. Well it wasn't everyday you got to see a tropical storm, Zoe pulled on a sweater before slipping on a waterproof coat and some boots. She was also worried if she stayed cooped up in this cabin any longer, vertigo would kick in, and she preferred her dinner in her stomach. Zoe stuffed her phone into her pocket before heading towards the upper decks.
I'm talking to you spear dude, but you're offline! WHY IS EVERYONE OFFLINE!
there was a trap?? What trap?
Ivy started walking across the street towards the boy punching rocks. "Why don't you know anyone?" A smile creeped across Ivy's face "Are you from out of town as well? How did you survive the blast? Do you know what caused it? Why are you punching rocks? Where are you from? Why are you so short?" The questions tumbled out of her mouth, and she was sure all of her questions were incomprehensible, except maybe the last one. "What are you doing?" Ivy asked again, "And do you know if there's any good place to stay for the night? Like a hotel or something? All the buildings look the same." Ivy shrugged and awkwardly readjusted her belt. It's probably not the best night to stay outside after everything that's happened...
Zoe was sitting in an uncomfortable plastic chair flanked by two parental figures. "Okay, you packed everything right?" The maternal figure asked worriedly. "Yes...for the millionth time." Zoe muttered under her breath. "I told you once I told you a billion times! Don't exaggerate your numbers!" The paternal figure responded with a chuckle. "Are you sure you want to do this, its a big responsibility, and South America is a long ways away...You double-checked the bags right?" The Maternal figure mused quietly at no specific individual. "Its June!" Zoe responded who was currently preoccupied with staring at the ceiling nervously. "I'm only going to miss, what? A week of school? And no one does anything on the last week of school anyway." Zoe.looked around the empty waiting room, then at the boat yard, which was deserted all but a small group of dock workers in bright orange vests getting off shift."Why are we here at five in the morning anyway?" Zoe crossed her arms and slouched down in her chair "The boat doesn't leave till nine?" Zoe kicked the two suitcases at her feet, but they stubbornly decided not to tip over, and rolled just out of reach. "Zoeeeee!" Her little sister chose this time to barge in. "Make sure to get gifts okay?" She said, while jumping around the room. " And I'm going to miss you soo much!" She said and "and did you know there were shops upstairs? There are like...a million!" She paused for a minute. "Remember to get gifts okay?" "Okay okay" Zoe said with a smile. "But we still have a couple hours left, so don't try to get rid of me just yet"
She couldn't wait to get on that boat.
Although Rowena had set her mind to go to bed early for the first day of school, she was all nerves and couldn't manage to fall asleep. Rowena stared across the room for a moment at the empty bed. It was kind of lame, but having sentient company in the room, even if it wasn't very interesting sentient company would have comforted Rowena a little bit. Rowena added getting a pet to her mental checklist. Sebastian had been gone for about an hour and a half now, he mentioned going to Luz's bakery. Rowena hoped that he wouldn't bring her back to the dorm though, she seemed nice, and they were a completely adorable together, but if anything happened, all first impressions would be disregarded, and she would NEVER get to to sleep. Rowena sighed to herself and rolled onto her back while blowing a pesky piece of hair out of her face. 1 sheep...2 sheep...3 sheep...
