Hello there,

I've been forum RPing for about 13 years; got started on lavendereyes.net, which was a Forgotten Realms/Drizzt Do'Urden fansite, before moving to the old roleplayerguild.com! I've also dabbled in RPing in a few MMO's like Champions Online, SWTOR, and WoW but forum adventures are definitely my preference. I like just about any kind of RP in high-casual and advanced, based on whatever mood I'm feeling (typically high-fantasy, sci-fi, and/or certain fandoms). I love writing and do think of RPing as a way to develop my character and scene writing skills, which basically means I'm always looking for realistic and fluid ways for my characters to learn, grow, and develop over the course of an adventure. I don't ship my characters but do occasionally allow them to fall into a relationship, if they are naturally guided in that direction.

You can take a look at some of my saved characters here, if it interests you.

I also have a deviantart page, though I hardly ever update it.

Thanks for reading! I'm always up for a good chat.
-Loopy (aka. Lupus)

Are the ghosts mostly evil, and if so, why? is there such thing as a good ghost?

Not necessarily, but the longer a ghost remains without ‘passing on’ the more their memory and emotional control degrades. They might remain with a well meaning goal (to protect someone, perhaps) but over years or decades this goal might become more and more possessive to the point of being damaging or dangerous to that person. Eventually they will transform into true dangerous spirits were their humanity is largely gone leaving only extreme emotional response.
However, there are other spirits that exist and some cohabitate with humans. These are usually viewed as deities, nature spirits, protectors, ect. These have existed for longer than human memory and were never actually human to begin with. On the flip side there are evil spirits like demons/devils/ect.

For the sake of clarity, I’m saying a ‘ghost’ is the lingering soul of a human (not necessarily evil) and a ‘spirit’ is an otherworldly entity of emotion without any humanity to speak of (not necessarily evil). Ghosts eventually become spirits but not all spirits come from ghosts.
Hey everyone. Just a heads-up that I'm currently battling a cold and a headache. I'll read all messages once I feel better. I'm planning to start this on Sunday.

As someone currently battling terrible allergies, i hope you feel better soon!
Heya! I’m Lupus and I would like to run an adventure based on the INCREDIBLE manga/anime: Dandadan.

If you’re not familiar, Dandadan is set in the modern world where aliens and ghosts are real and very active. Curses, possessions, abductions, psychic powers, and spiritual mediums collide with humanity as the focal point despite most humans living blissfully ignorant lives without a clue as to the danger they’re often exposed to.

This adventure will take place in that universe but will be a completely separate story with our own OC cast.

THE STORY
Camp Hideaway is one of the oldest summer camps in America’s pacific northwest and is situated deep in the mountains on the pristine Guppy Lake. Nearly 500 acres of wilderness remain completely untouched by human development after being declared a national forest, with Camp Hideaway remaining the sole permanent human habitation due to its presence before the parkland was established. Due to its isolated nature and somewhat crumbling infrastructure, camper numbers have fallen in recent decades but it still attracts a decent sized crowd of dedicated campers between the ages of 8 and 14 as well as a host of recent highschool grad/early college-age counselors.
The counselors arrive a few days before the first wave of campers and strange occurrences begin to happen around camp after they take on a very unwise dare to explore the ‘haunted mine’ at the far end of camp…

THE RP
This will be a small group RP of 5-6 people max with everyone playing a councilor character working the summer at Camp Hideaway. My plan is for this to be part slice-of-life with each player having a cabin of kids (played by me or you) going about the daily camp activities, part mystery/horror with a series of possessions, spiritual attacks, psychic powers, and spooky atmospheres, as well as part anime-style combat against both aliens and spirits. We’ll have fun getting into shenanigans and fighting monsters.

THE CHARACTERS
Every player will play a counselor between the ages of 18 and 20 who has some connection to the otherworldly aspects of the story.
This can include:
-a psychic power (pyrokinesis, telekinesis, hydrokinesis, telepathy, ect)
-spiritual possession (you got a demon/ghost/spirit inside you)
-curse (you got cursed by a spirit)
-spiritual sensitivity (you can sense/detect spirits)
-spiritual ritualist (you can exorcise, fight, trap, banish spirits)
Spoiler alert: the first part of this story will see your powers awaken in the way you decide at character generation.
In the case of possession/curse I will introduce a reason that it doesnt kill you outright and will thus allow you to manifest that spirit/curse as a (reasonable) power. An active spirit can be played by you or me, if you prefer!
Powers of any type should come with some sort of drawback because hinderance is fun! (Some ideas are: you risk losing control, you cant summon the powers unless in grave danger or emotional, you have to sacrifice something per use, you can only use the power X times per day, ect ect.) Hopefully, characters will learn and grow over the summer and find better ways of control.

The second part of PCs will be a cabin of 4-6 kids of varying ages. These personalities can be as detailed or as vague as you prefer but you’ll probably end up having to keep these kids from getting eaten by an alien or something.

IN CONCLUSION
I have an idea of the major plot points but I also love story collaboration! Happy to workshop ideas and characters and events as the story progresses. :)

Max like
Can we talk about how I went to sleep and work, and got home to 19 new posts? Who keeps serving you guys the Red Bull!? And where are they hiding it!? D<

ANd that's just me, imagine what @Dragonydas'll feel when they pop back in and see that, hey, the OOC now has over 100 posts... xD

You people crazy.

Also, now fish has a babbeh fish.

And we definetely need a spooder. Quick, someone use Rachnera from Monmusu!

Dont blame me! I’m west coast time zone.
I have a second hilarious idea for an alchemist 'monster' character but OP did say 1 char per person and playing the 'straight man' in a group of insane monster people will be too much fun.

I personally post really quickly but I also like turn order lol. I post as fast as everyone else does. I guess it just depends on how fast everyone else can get a post out. I imagine probably at least once a few days with a group this large would be reasonable.

Agree with this. I can have periods of rapid back and forth depending on real life availability but I do try and wait for everyone to get a chance to post before continueing. Difference with this sort of RP is that we'll likely have multiple scenes happening simultanously with this many fun characters.

No need for Yumeiko to be sad.
After all, she has her wife with her. ^-^

Gratuitous hugs have been known to cure most ailments of the soul.
Oooh, that's good. I like that. @LupusIntus

I think it was something about how I could see Yumeiko feeling stuck in a rut, going through the motions of god-honoring like a clock

Oooh, that's good. I like that. @LupusIntus

I could imagine Yumeiko feeling stuck in a loop, going through the motions, repeating the same honorific rituals over and over but not really remembering why because she’s no longer even in the holy places the rituals were made for…
IM NOT CRYING, YOURE CRYING
How's this?

Just something that came to mind. Aaah, but if you've got something good, too, I'll hear it

I dunno why, but this song by one of my favorite Japanese artists came to mind.
