A woman stood in the marketplace of Haven, her red hair tied back into a braid and allowed to fall down her back, just barely brushing her shoulder blades. Her eyes, bright as embers, gazed intently upon the stall that was selling glazed pastries. Her stomach growled loudly and she wrapped her arms around her midsection in hopes of making the sound less frightening and obnoxious, but to no avail. Crap... I ran out of food money, too... She thought to herself before she summoned a small mechanical creature from her satchel. Tapping on the pocket watch around her neck once, she muttered a short verse under her breath, "Be my angel, speak to me, Mercury!" With those few words whispered from her lips, the small ball of gears and metal untwisted itself to reveal a small mechanical squirrel. She grinned when he crawled up her chest to give her a "kiss" on the chin. "There's my good boy."
With a twirl of her finger, the creature gazed at the stall that she had been thinking of, and without needing to be told, it darted between the feet of the small crowd of people. I'd best find someplace to hide if someone senses my magic. Not like they'll be able to keep track of him in the first place. She made her way through the throng of people and hid in a back alley, the shadows covering her enough that she wouldn't be noticed if she didn't move or make a sound. Just as she got into place, a woman with a scimitar and shield walked past her. Did she have a... Fairy Tail guild mark? She wondered, but couldn't give up the hiding place that she had made as her own. Little did she know that it was one of Sanguin's clones. What is a Fairy doing here in Haven? The last time I checked their job board, there were no problems here... But perhaps... Maybe that's why Mercury was acting a little strange before I put him to sleep?
Just as the thought ran through her mind, she felt claws run up her leg and on her satchel sat Mercury himself. With a large glazed roll in his mouth, he held it out for her with his teeth. She grinned and took it from him, scratching the top of his metal head with her free hand while the other stuffed the roll straight into her face. Her hunger merely faded, but it was still prominent. I can't make him go get me another one. Not when there are goody-two-shoes running around this joint. When the mechanical squirrel began to shiver, she patted him on the head before whispering, "I want you to search out a girl with a scimitar and shield, alright? Just scout her out and follow her until I can tell what she's doing. Thank you so much, Mercury!"
He jumped from her shoulder and climbed up to the top of one of the roofs before making his way towards the main road, catching sight of his quarry as well as another Fairy Tail member. He stood at the edge of the roof, acting as an ornament, but his eyes focused in on Sanguin and Ben. His mistress wanted answers, and she was going to get them one way or another. His tiny, mechanical heart beat rapidly in his chest and the rancid magic that filled the air made him shiver once again. A quiver here and a shiver there might not be enough to get their attention on him, but it was enough to be slightly unsettling.
