Alongside Reeta, Kaito went towards the end corridor. The kids were all busy playing on another room, so no one noticed their arrival yet. Upon reaching the last door, he knocked on the door


Kaito: *knocks on door* Lucent, it's me and Reeta! C'mon, open the door already!
Lucent's Voice: ... It's not locked.

Kaito: Alright, we're coming in to talk with you.

As he opened the door, Lucent was reading another book on his bed. Kaito went in first, visibly irritated.


Kaito: There you are, Mr. Class Skip! What's the explanation this time?!

Lucent: I passed out.

Kaito: Passed out?!

Lucent: You weren't able to heard it because of the distance between our rooms.

Kaito: You little... how many days have you went without eating anything?!

Lucent: ... Two days. I always waited to eat alone, but it was too late when I checked the time, so I oftenly gave up.

Kaito: Idiot! Now we have to scold you twice the effort, damn it! You can't ignore food like this!

Lucent: I know, I know-

Kaito: That's what you always say and you still repeat what you did last time! Not eating, not sleeping, it's always one thing!

Kaito: Not to mention that you're highly unsociable, even with the kids! How long do you plan to live alone like this?! You're making people get worried about you!!

Lucent: ...

Location: Spring Zone - Hakurei Shrine

After a little walk, Reimu took them to the cliff she mentioned. They climbed a medium set of stairs and eventually reached the shrine.




Reimu: This is it.

Xaizor: Wait, what?! Is this where we're going to spend the next days as our HOME?

Reimu: What did you expect, a big castle filled with maids and knights carrying out your orders? Wake up. This isn't Lacrima, you know.

Marina: I am sure that he is grateful we HAVE somewhere to stay.

Xaizor: Well at least it has space for me to train, so whatever.

Reimu: Now get inside. Place your things and we'll talk later. I have a ritual to do first.

Marina: OK. I need to get back to my studies.

Xaizor: After I pack my things, I better start training.

They went inside the shrine as Reimu focused alone. She was trying to estabilish a connection between her and Lumino.

A group of four thugs was reunited in a street leading to the deeper part of the Suburbs, denominated as the land of the thugs. They had just succeeded from a bank heist and were commemorating.

Thug Boss: Good work, guys! We beat the police and got away with the money!
Thugs: Hell yeah!!

???: ...
Thug #1: Oi, kiddo! Get yer chin up! We got another heist, dude!

???: Shut up... I'm bored as hell.
Thug #2: Heh, feisty brat. You better shut up before we end you!
Thug Boss: Oi, shut the hell up, all of you! Let's commemorate the success! You, go get a beer from inside.
Thug #1: Leave it to me, boss.

One of the thugs left to get the drinks while the other two began to play cards. The last one, who looked like a student, just looked away.

BGM: Hartmann's Youkai Girl (Urban Legend in Limbo)

Voice: I guess you should be more careful about what you're going to ask of your underlings even inside your own house.
Thug Boss: Eh?! Who's there?!

???: Wait, that voice... it's... the Blue Reaper!!

From the dark ceiling, a figure descended. It was a teenager, looking a little annoyed.


Auror: Aww, you messed all up! I was supposed to introduce myself, thank you very much!
Thug Boss: Wait... the Blue Reaper, one of the most feared assassin in Unitia City... is just a brat?!

Auror: Yep! Just a teenager running amok playing assassin! Ain't that a letdown, huh?

Auror: But you know... why the guy you sent hasn't returned yet? Surely he would be excited to see that I'm the Blue Reaper.

???: Huh? Wait... what do you mean?

The wind blew and opened the door behind them. When they looked at it, a corpse was lying on the floor, with its mouth frozen and an ice stake piercing its forehead.

Thug #2: EEEEIYAAAAH!!

???: H-Holy damn...!!

Auror: You see, I had to keep him with his mouth shut. As much as I'd love to hear him screaming as I drive the stake on his brain, I need to keep myself as a secret until now.
Thug Boss: You brat! Hey, you two! Get him!

The thug listened to his command and went towards Auror with a knife in hand. Auror generated an ice knife and sighed.


Auror: You're not my target, so I won't be pleased by torturing you. I'll be quick with this. Let's begin by stabbing the emotions.

He simply threw the generated knife at the thug's arm. It hit right on target as he felt a sharp pain.

Thug #2: GAAAAAH!!

Auror: *generates an ice bow* And while you're all open, I'll be shooting the desires you have, so get lost.

Auror shot 5 arrows, each of them aiming at a point. Two of the hit the thug's elbows and the other two hit his knees, sending and pinning him at the wall. Once he reached there, the last arrow hit his neck, killing him.

Thug #2: B... Boss... r... run...

Auror: No screaming, then? Ugh, you could've even begged for mercy.

???: (The way he kills... how he plays around and disregards his foes' opinions... this guy is truly...)
Thug Boss: Tch, goddamnit, you useless son of a bitch!!

Auror: Ah whaaaaat? Are you thaaaaat mad he was killled? C'mon tough guy, I'm just a kid wielding ice magic and many weapons to kill you and your little buddy~
Thug Boss: Fine then! I'll kill you myself!!

The boss grabbed an axe that was stationed at the wall and tried to attack Auror with it. The young assassin kept evading while joking around.


Auror: *evades* You missed. *evades* Oh, sorry, that was a miss. *evades* Naaah, not even close. *evades* Oh, if you just hit at least some seconds faster. *evades* You must suck at playing Whack-a-Mole.
Thug Boss: You... brat...!! *attacks Auror*

Auror: *evades* I'm gonna have some fun breaking you apart! I'll be waltzing through limits!

Auror throws a knife and hits the thug boss. Using his wind magic, he grabs the knife back and slashes it many times while sending it in the air. On mid-air, he launches the thief back down with a powerful kick.

Thug Boss: *hits the ground* GAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

Auror: *lands* Oh, now THAT'S a scream! YES!! Exactly how I wanted!
Thug Boss: This... little... prick...

Auror: Now that I heard what I wanted, let's finish the job and-

*BGM fades*

But before Auror could even get close to him and take the kill, a snake appeared and gave him a bite on the neck, releasing the poison.

Thug Boss: UGH!! Drake... you...!!

Drake: Sorry "boss", but our deal ends here. I'm tired of your petty useless lifestyle.

The thug boss couldn't resist all injuries and the poison's strength. He died without too much effort. The knife Auror was holding broke and he sighed once again.

BGM: Believe in Possibilites (Urban Legend in Limbo)


Auror: Oh nice, I got my kill stolen by a snake. Wonderful...

Drake: It's not like anyone will think I did it. It's still your kill, Master!

Auror: Yeah, I guess. Wait... Master?

Drake: Please make me your apprentice in the art of killing, Blue Reaper!

Auror: How can I be sure that you're not going to stab me in the back, just like you did with your former leader?

Drake: Because the feeling is different! He was such a trash that I just followed him around because I had nothing better to do. But you... oh, you managed to steal my eyes with your impressive style! That's why I need to learn from you!

Auror: Just so you know, I'm in the business killing bandits. I don't kill innocents like you dearly wish to.

Drake: Fine by me! All that I want is to kill like you do, whether is for justice or evil! So please, take me in!

This was certainly a mission to add to the "weird list". Auror was completely unsure about killing the guy standing before him, whose name seemed to be Drake. He just gave him a shrug.


Auror: Whatever. Just make sure you don't kill innocents or else you're going to be my target.

Drake: YES!! Oh Master, you won't regret this deal!!

Auror: Somehow, I am. I'm already regretting the fact that I haven't silenced you for stealing my kill. In fact, I think I should end your life now.

Drake: Eeeek!!

Auror: ... Is what I'd like to do, but I have to head back home. Gotta give the report to my boss.

Drake: O-OK! I-I'll see you tommorow at school, Master!

Auror: Wait, are you just a high school student?!

Drake: Yep, just like you! I'm a second-year as well.

Auror: *spear breaks* Good. Now get moving before I change my mind.

Drake left, excited to be taken among the wing of the famous Blue Reaper. Auror, on the other hand, thought about Drake's desire on all this and decided to go with the flow in order to let the guy become a ruthless maniac and direct his killing towards the good way.


Auror: *sigh* I just can't bring myself to kill someone who is a student so stupidly innocent like him. The least I can do is steer him the right way. Though I feel he's going to be annoying...

Kaito: Hey, Reeta!

Kaito ran towards her and stopped to catch some breath once he did it so. Like her, he was also worried about Lucent.


Kaito: You heard it from Rayla, right? Lucent skipped classes today. I woke him up like usual and he said that he'd be running late today.

Kaito: I wanna question why he skipped classes, so I'm going with you. I can't just let him abandon life like this!

Meanwhile, Auror, Veronica, Marina and Xaizor were leaving together as they talked about lunch once again.


Auror: So you were left behind daydreaming?

Veronica: That was so mean of them! When I saw it, I was all alone in the rooftop and everyone just went back to their classes without me!

Auror: You need to hold back your imagination as much as Ted needs to sleep more. Seriously...

Veronica: But it's not my fault! How'd you react when two of your friends came from a kingdom?!

Auror: Huh? Who are you talking about?

Xaizor: She meant us.

Marina: (He just ignored my warning again!!)

Veronica: They came from the Kingdom of Arcadia! Isn't that cool?!

Auror said it was a car, but it was more like a limousine. Not that extensive, but classy like one. The driver got out and opened one of the doors.


Veronica: Oh, just because I wanted to talk more!

Auror: Vivi, go straight home and don't take any detours, got it?

Marina: Hmm? Are you not going with her, Auror?

Auror: Nah, I prefer to take a walk on my own. Besides, I have something important that I must do.

Veronica: ... Big Bro...

Xaizor: What's with the sad face?

With that said, Veronica went inside the car while Auror just went walking towards another way. This left Marina and Xaizor confused since they had no idea where they would be staying at all.

A young woman came towards them, as she had seem to recognize both. They looked at her, confused, until she began to explain.


???: I came here to take you two to your home in this world.

Xaizor: So, are you the contact Dad mentioned?

???: Exactly. Just so you know, my name is...

Xaizor: Whoa, hold it. Where exactly are we going?

Reimu: My shrine lies on the top of a small cliff. It's not too far, so don't worry.

Marina: Very well then. Let us proceed.

Marina and Xaizor followed Reimu to their home in Unitia City. From the other end of the street, Auror looked at them leaving and got more suspicious about what secrets those two were hiding.


Auror: A shrine? I don't remember anything of the sort here at the Spring Zone. First a kingdom that doesn't exist, now this?

Auror: I might do some inspection on this while I do my job. Whatever lies you two are babbling, I'm going to discover what's hidden beyond them.

They waved as Andorina left the rooftop as well. As Kaito and Xaizor finished the lunchbox and Marina ate her portion, Veronica looked at the newcomers once again.


Veronica: Hey, where did you two come from? I wanna hear about your homeland!

Marina: Eh?! Um... that is to say... how should I...

Xaizor: We're from the Kingdom of Arcadia.

Marina: (D-Do not tell them, idiot!!)

Veronica: From a kingdom...? Like, a place with a king and castles and knights and everything?!

Xaizor: Yeah! Also, we're both-

Veronica: HOW COOL!! I always wanted to visit a kingdom!!

Xaizor: Is... that so? By the way, me and Marina are-

Veronica: To see how beautiful are the dresses... to see a castle... and then out of a sudden, to meet its beautiful prince...!

Xaizor: H-Hey, about the thing of royalty, we-

Veronica: And to go into a royal ball and then have the prince come and invite me to dance...! We would waltz all night long and then he would ask me "Would you marry me?" and I would definitely melt in love and say "Yes..." and then we'd end up into a passionate kiss with him declaring me as his princess later...!!

One of the main points, other than being a cheerful bad cook, is that Veronica is a daydreamer extraordinaire. Her fantasies would actually become nice stories, but she never liked writing that much. Xaizor was going to tell her something but she was already lost in her imagination.


Kaito: It's no use, we already lost Veronica to the land of daydreams.

Xaizor: Well, she'll go on without knowing what I had to say then.

Kaito: But you can tell us then! Go on, you and Marina are what?

The Glory Star Orphanage was the home of children and teenagers abandoned by the world, but received by warm hands.

His room was on the far end of the right corridor. The light from the sun shined weakly, since the tress blocked it. A portal opened as the room's owner got back at it and soon closed.


Lucent: ... I'm just going to read a book. There's no way I can get out to school now, since it's lunch. I guess the kids are eating right now.

He had only eight books to read. He picked one of them and sat on his bed. As he opened it, Lucent began to immerse himself in the story. He loves reading. It's his hobby, probably the only one. He wasn't expecting the quietness endure for long though.

Auror: Aww... aren't you a refined lady. Be careful Vivi, or Marina will steal your spot here at school!

Marina: (Oh, are they nobles? I did not know that. I might inquire it from Veronica at a better opportunity.)

Auror went towards the door and left to the cafeteria. The rest kept eating and chatting.

A light was shining upon the darkness. Inside, something could be seen.

It was a small girl, playing happily with her father. From afar, unnoticed to them, a hand held the entire land. The owner of it looked at the scene.


???: Look how low I'm getting. To survive at the cost of a little girl's dream... she won't remember anything by the morning...

Saddened, he began to absorb the light... the dream. The happy scene projected from a child's mind became the needed energy for him to survive.

The incident that closed the predecessor of the Fleeting Memories School. In the middle school, a boy targeted Lucent and aimed to lock him inside the gym for the entire night. Driven to fear, his powers awakened and he drove the bully into a traumatic nightmare. In the next seconds, the boy that was alive appeared dead. His entire body was pierced and there was a big cut on his neck, with blood spread on the floor. In the corpse's left hand stood a knife and in the right hand a finger that pointed to a message: ALL MONSTERS SHOULD DIE, MYSELF INCLUDED! Because no proof existed, the police labeled it a suicide. However, that incident gave Lucent an even bigger fear... one that led him to seclusion.


Lucent: (I'm used to be hated and left behind. It's better than murdering people. It... doesn't affect me anymore. I do wonder why people decide to get close to me. Veronica and Kaito...)

"I'm gonna visit you everyday so please smile, Mister!"

Lucent: ... Best if I head back. Reeta will probably scold me even harder today. She could at least be more insensible and throw me away in the streets.

Lucent: I wonder why people care about me, anyway. It must be pity. Either that, or I'm a laughingstock.

Lucent opened a portal and left the mysterious world.

Auror: Anyway, I guess I'll have to save those two before they end up in true Heaven.

Marina took her bites, expressing how good the food was with a simple, quiet smile. While Kaito and Xaizor were having their troubles, Auror stuffed some of his food in their mouths and helped them eat it.


Kaito: Ungh... Oh! This is... really good!

Xaizor: Urk... w-wait... this taste... d-did you cook this, Auror?

Auror: Pretty much. I learned how to cook when I was really young and-

Kaito: *eats more* Hmmm!! Oh, this is nice! I want to eat it all!

Xaizor: *eats more* Hey, leave some for me, Kaito! I need to eat it too!

Auror: Guys, I'm still here... ah forget it, I'll just buy something at the cafeteria downstairs.

Marina: To... be honest, we have not brought lunchboxes. I am deeply sorry, but do you mind if I shared with you, Mister Ted?

Veronica: No fair! I was going to share mine with you, Marina!

Kaito: Then do you mind if I eat it with you, Veronica?

Veronica: Not at all! Please make yourself at home, Mister Kaito!


Veronica opened her lunch box. It was a cute shaped bunny-figure rice with salads altogether, which she cooked herself.


Kaito: Oh, that looks delicious!

Auror: Kaito, if I were you, I wouldn't eat it. Believe me, it just looks good.

Veronica: Oh, shush! Unlike you, Kaito knows a good cook when he sees one.

Kaito: Don't mind him, he's just jealous! I'm grabbing a bite right now!

Xaizor: Hold it! I'm getting one too!

Veronica: Please enjoy!

Kaito and Xaizor took a bite out of Veronica's seemingly good lunch box. However, it tasted horribly. Their stomachs began to twirl inside of their bodies.

Marina: G-Goodness!

Veronica: Hehe! Isn't it tasty?

Auror: ... I warned you two.

Veronica: Hey Marina, why don't you try it out?

Marina: Wait, we should not cause trouble here, just like Miss Rayla said! M-Maybe the authorities or guards can help us!

Auror: Authority? We don't have that. Our guards, which we call the police, is useless. They don't do anything. We're in for ourselves in this place.

Veronica: We recently suffered from an attack from a terrorist group. It was three days ago. It was very scary.

His powers aren't that hidden... more like he doesn't make any effort to be normal. And she's not normal herself. She speaks as if she knew this was going to be dangerous from the start.)

Auror: (Now I'm very curious. There's something more to those two than it meets the eye. In any case, they're not the only ones hiding their abilities.)

As the door opened, three people came in, those being Veronica, Marina and Ted, who met them in the way.


Veronica: Hello and pretty morning!

Marina: Good morning...

Veronica: Huh? Big Bro isn't here yet?
Auror: Now I am.

Auror, Kaito and Xaizor soon came to join in.


Auror: I went to the thirds to fetch those two over here.

Kaito: Wow, now this is kind of a big group you guys brought together, huh?

Veronica: Yeah! Though he's not here...

Kaito: He?

Auror: You know, that best friend of yours from the seconds who studies on our class.

Kaito: What?! But he told me he was going to run a little late!

Auror: His little late meant "not coming at all" if I say so myself.

Kaito: That little... once I get back home, I'm seriously going to beat him up!

Xaizor: Can you guys just jump to the point? Why are you reuniting us here like this?

Veronica: Oh, right! Before we can have lunch, we should introduce ourselves, even if some of us know each other!

Veronica cleared her throat, as she decided to begin with the intros.


Veronica: I'm Veronica Intermezzo from class 1-A! Since you're all my friends, you can just call me Vivi if you want.

Auror: I'm Auror Dias Intermezzo from class 2-C. Also, I'm Vivi's older brother. Pleased to meet you all.

Kaito: I'm Kaito Momota, the Luminary of the Stars from class 3-B! Nice to meet you all!

Auror: And also, he's a lunatic.

Kaito: D-Don't go giving them the wrong idea! I'm pretty sane!

Marina: I-I'm Marina Arcadia, from class 1-A. I hope we can have a good year and, um... I am pleased to meet you. *bows*

Xaizor: The name's Xaizor Arcadia, Marina's older brother. Class 3-B.

Marina: Xaizor, will you please be considerate and say "It is nice to meet you"?

Xaizor: Oh. What she said.

Marina: You rude idiot! *steps on Xaizor's foot*

Auror: Oh, I guess this is the case of "little sister rules over big brother and both just fight all day long when they are together".

Soon, the rest of the class that was outside left. Steps could be heard so it meant the teacher was near. Auror opened his notebook and checked the schedule for the day.


Auror: Guess class about to start. Let's see... oh, it's Math.

Location: Fleeting Memories School - First-Year Clasroom A

All students on the class began to talk and guess about the new student who would join their class. Soon, their teacher came in.

Teacher: Good morning everyone. As you may know, we are now receiving a new student in our class. Please enter.

The newcomer entered and stood next to the teacher. She was trembling a bit, but tried to hold her fear back.

Marina: Umm... good morning. I am Marina Arcadia and I... I hope we can have a good year together.
Teacher: Miss Arcadia comes from a distant country and she has other customs and cultures, so please respect her space. I'll be organizing somethings on my desk, so you all have some time to talk. Let me see... there. Miss Arcadia, please sit next to Miss Intermezzo.

Marina did as she was instructed and sat on the indicated desk, right next to Veronica. The teacher began to organize her things as she said she would do and everyone began to talk.


Veronica: Hello and pretty morning, Marina! I'm Veronica Intermezzo, but you can call me Vivi!

Marina: O-Oh! G-Good morning, Miss Intermezzo!

Veronica: No no, no Miss here. Just Veronica or Vivi will do juuuuust fine!

Marina: O-OK. I-I will be careful the next time.

Veronica: You're pretty timid, aren't you?

Veronica: Well, it's fine. I am a little jumpy and energetic, so I might scare you.

Marina: No, please. I am glad you talked with me. I am... a little nervous, but it is not because of you.

Veronica: Phew... thank goodness. I was worried I was being obnoxious...

Veronica: Hey, after this class, how about we go to the rooftop? Some friends from other classes will be meeting up and they wanted to say hi.

Marina: S-Sure. Oh, but I did forget to bring lunch today.

Veronica: No worries! I'll share mine with you, OK?

The newcomer entered and stood next to the teacher. He seemed really confident.

Xaizor: The name's Xaizor Arcadia. I'm going to be the strongest guy, no matter where I am, so you better not get into my way!
Teacher: Meh, whatever, you little piece of-

Xaizor: Hey, you be quiet!! I haven't finished speaking!!
Teacher: Mind your mouth!! Now, go sit right there before I give you an detention!!

Xaizor gave the teacher an angry glare and got to his desk, right next to Kaito.


Kaito: Seems like we're deskmates from now on, huh?

Xaizor: Oh, it's goatee old guy. You really are a third-year.

Kaito: I'm not old and don't mock my goatee! I'm seriously gonna beat you up!

Xaizor: Hah, you wish! When's the training session?

Kaito: Training? You mean P.E.?

Xaizor: If that's what you call it, I don't care. When's it gonna be? Just say it out!

Kaito: Oh, we don't have P.E. today.

Xaizor: Are you kidding me?! Goddamnit, this school sucks.

Kaito: Yo, outside of that, how 'bout we have lunch together? I wanna show you to some other buddies of mine.

Xaizor: I don't have time to lunch! I need to train! Besides, I haven't brought anything to eat.

Kaito: More the reason for you to come with me. You can't train with an empty stomach, right?
