The scientist slowly rose to his feet, his gaze darting between the few people voicing their worries with ‘are you okay?’ and ‘what the hell happened?’ Tall! So tall! They were making Higgsbury nervous! Not only with their heights, but Wilson was just not a fellow who enjoyed being surrounded by so many strangers.
“P-pardon me!” Nudging his way between some citizens’ legs, Higgsbury would glance up again to be struck with another round of shock. The folks around here were huge, but their structures -- they were absolute skyscrapers! Especially compared to what he’d been used to (Well, honestly, some didn’t seem all too different).
But one in particular eventually caught his eyes, for it was most-definitely a tower that pierced the heavens! And said heavens didn’t seem too happy about it, brewing what appeared to be a storm.
Wilson could only stare a moment longer, feeling something not quite right about it. A tad strange, sorta like the random bolt that struck his lightning rod back in the forest. Were they connected, by some chance? Maybe somewhere within those rumbling clouds was his way back? He fell from the sky, right? So even if the chance was low, it wouldn’t hurt to have a closer look-see. He just needed to catch a glimpse of his portal and find a way to hop right back in. If he was truly free from that blasted realm, he didn’t want to leave his ragtag family behind!
And so, Wilson made a mad dash towards the cloud-attracting building, leaving the clueless crowd behind.
