Yeah! Your post was great! Sorry I can't reply right now. I have to work because my parents aren't millionaires and I haven't struck it big with the scratch off(yet) t.t
"Woh. Woh." Jim raised his hands and did a calm down motion. "I don't either. It was odd, and made me think of sand manipulation like in that anime Naruto, but with darkness. Which is kind of weird since darkness isn't solid, or anything. It's just like of anything. Which brings up the question, you felt it right? I mean, it looked like you held it. It's one thing to move the shadows but how did it get hard?"

"Hey! Let's not run into the danger." He hurried up to keep pace with Rae. "It can't hurt to scout around the area before we let those things know we're here right?" He paused while they walked. "Well, if whatever it was really needs help then maybe there's a limit to what it could do to help us like there was only so much time it was given to let us know what was going on, and it decided to use it on what it told us?"

They walked for a while before a strange sound called from a nearby alley. It was something like a desperate cry for help. "Oh." Jims wallwed hard. "Please tell me that whatever that was was just in my head. "
Jim nodded at Rae's reaction when they got out of the car. "I know. It creeps me out too." With a grim smile he started handing her the bat but stopped when the shadow underneath slappy leaped out at her like a cat who never learned the lesson that bigger and smaller were two completely different things. Reacting on instinct he turned to run, but remembering how bad his instincts were he changed the motion in such a way it was almost a pretty good swing. It didn't do anything to the shadow which formed something like a bat in his new friend's hand. Which was of course met with shrieking and an attempt to throw the object away which was a success.

"So. Maybe that didn't have so much to do with the shadow creatures we saw earlier on the television as it has to do with those tattoos. They did brighten up just before the bat appeared." He shrugged. "Not sure if that's a good thing or not." He indicated the direction they'd need to go to reach the rift. "Either way it should be over this way." He handed her the bat. "Whatever that was just now was pretty cool, but until we figure these things out entirely its probably best to keep something we can count on handy."
Nice. She looks good
"Shhh." Jim almost laughed. "Don't say stuff like that. He'll get an ego and then won't go anywhere until her gets a paint job and I fix that problem with the exhaust,or that huge crack in the windshield everyone points and laughs at." He rubbed the dashboard in as reassuring of a manner as he could. "Aw don't worry Slappy, we won't be getting a batmobile, because there's limits to how cool the help you get from a dying star can be."

Jim drove in silence for a few minutes, thinking about what he saw on television. "I don't know. I mean, there was a lot of blood and I don't see how anyone could've survived that kind of situation." Another pause. "Before we left everyone on the floor was completely still so.... I can't see how that would be a good sign."

They weren't able to make it to the spot with all the trouble because of how much traffic there was. That wasn't the problem. What was was how people had just abandoned their cars miles from the trouble. "Well I guess we're going to have to get off here." He opened the door, paused for a second and then pulled a few things from the back. "Do you want the crowbar or bat? You know, just incase the star isn't really going to help and it was really just a help yourself kind of help it was going to give us.
Almond frowned. There didn't seem to be anything else he could do. HIs mom was going to kill him, but that might not have to be a problem since there was a good chance the world would be ending. In some ways it was probably worst than his mom killing him, but at least it didn't feel so personal. There was a plus in everything if you were willing to stoop down to find it, and in the situation he was in, stooping wasn't a problem. His mother hated tattoos and constantly warned him that if she ever caught him with one she'd take it off with a cheese grater and then gut him like a fish, but not the way a professional would do it. Oh no. She's make sure to get the process to take as long as possible. No quick death for him.

That is, if the doomsday sayers, any one of a dozen cults gathered around the perimeter of the military controlled section in the middle of town, knew what they were talking about. Almond doubted it, but one could never say when something that came from a loon's wasn't just crazy talk. Even a broken clock was right twice a day, three times if you counted spring forward and fallback.

The day had started out as regularly as possible and then after a long day of work all the news channels, as well as some of the more kid friendly ones, started showing what was at the center of his town. Apparently space was a physical thing and someone had cut it something deep. So deep in fact you could see clear through to another realm of existence. At least that's what everyone was saying. Nobody could see past the inky blackness, and whenever a robot tried going in the signal disappeared along with the mechanical body.

"Here you go hun." The nice waitress said as she put down an apple fritter and his cup of green tea. "Enjoy. It could vary well be the last sweet you ever eat." With that she gave him a grim smile and headed back to watch the news with the rest of the staff. So Almost frowned and gave the new marks on his arm an angry glare. It didn't disappear or even shrink back in shame. Such was his luck.

He sighed and hung his head in frustration. "The world's going to end and I'm going to spend it without a soul complain with. "
Uhm. I was going to wait for the pic of your summon to start, but I've got to walk my dogs. Their looking inside the house because its already later tahn they'd like to go. So I'm going to go ahead and type up something quick before I go.

If you need help getting in, or would like something changed. Let me know and I'll do my best :)
@caliban22
Oh alrighty! :)
@caliban22 Are you having any trouble thinking up CSs? If so I'd be happy to help :)
It maybe be much more interesting for us to start in our own world before something happens to get our characters involved.

Yes, I have. I decided to go with a mysterious mage as the starting summon.

Alirghty!

Mysterious mage? Is that anything like the mysterious stranger from the fallout series?
